I know a lot of lawyers and I know what makes them good. This attorney knows his business like no other. He offered a plan at the onset and almost everything he said would happen, did. The BK process can be stressful but David Speckman was a master at getting the results I hoped for and I felt throughout that I could trust him. Still there were times I would worry or needed further explanation about something that came up. He did not always respond quickly to my emails but he does have a great office team that is very responsive and helpful and I always felt supported. Chapter 13 takes time and there are many moving parts but In the end, everything worked out just like he said it would. In fact, it seemed that whenever I had a doubt or a question, this is what would happen: I would stress out, send an email asking what was happening and within a day or two I would receive an official notice (or judgment) that that issue had already been resolved. I was always surprised at how this happened. This is the type of attorney who does everything he can to make your life easier and eliminates the stress and because he actually does what he says (which is not always the case with busy attorneys), you can trust him. To me, that was most important. I sent several emails just to keep him informed of my situation and any changes and he did not always respond directly but I knew that if there was something important to discuss, he would call and take the time to explain everything I needed to know. That's how he works. David manages his cases and clients with care and utmost professionalism. He doesn't react to client stress and has a very calm demeanor which he backs up with results. I have a fairly good understanding of the law, real estate and mortgage finance and I know from experience that having a great attorney makes ALL the difference in the world. David Speckman did that for me, securing a Ch. 13 and stripping a second mortgage. Every time I walked into his office, his staff made me feel very comfortable, offering me a cool drink and a moment to recompose. And each time I met with Mr. Speckman, I felt well taken care of and walked out feeling relieved and in good hands. I was able to rely on his expertise for good results but the fact that he is also personable, calm and has a good sense of humor, made the process even easier. My wife and I met with David for our 1 hour 'free' consultation regarding our loan modification. David was very personable and knowledgable with regard to our questions and situation. We gave David a check for $500.00, and left with intent to move forward. Upon further review of David's work in the medical marijuana field, my wife and I chose another lawyer. When we asked David for a refund, minus a reasonable fee for his time, we received no response from our 5 phone calls. Once he did take my call, he offered us $230.00. We're still waiting for that check ..........
