For the last three months, I have been working as an intern for a small criminal defense law firm while preparing to become an attorney. Last fall, I reached out to Mark to learn about his career. Ruth Ryan-Cruz is a true professional. My husband and I are first time homebuyers. At the time we contacted Ruth, we were overwhelmed with paperwork. Even though we were a week out from closing, we wanted to do our due diligence to make sure we didn't overlook anything. Mark is an amazing attorney! I got into a major car accident while very pregnant. A few days after the crash I had the other party’s insurance company bothering me to settle the claim only a day after I was released from the hospital. I contacted Mark to see if he could help me and immediately he assured me that he would be able to and asked about my health and the health of my unborn baby. My whole experience with Mark was flawless. He helped me every step of the way and any questions I had he was always prompt to answer. Being involved in a major crash while pregnant and during COVID was extremely stressful but with Mark’s help that stress was taken off of me. For anyone having an injury case, I can personally recommend Mark. First, I'll give a little background. In a nutshell, I had a car accident a couple years ago and the other guy's insurance just did not want to pay. Even though the other driver was at-fault, his insurance company just kept having me wait after I declined their initial ultra-low offer. Their stance was that they were investigating the case more, which asked for a couple more months every time. Phone calls would lead nowhere. Keep in mind that my car was totaled, I had loss wages, the other DUI driver was at-fault, and I had a personal injury that messed my back up for the rest of my life. I think their offer obviously would not sit well with anybody in their right mind. Clearly, I realized that wouldn't get anything back by myself. So, after a year and a half of playing their waiting game, I searched around and found Mark on the website Expertise. They strategically review and personally vet businesses, consultants, and lawyers from different industries, so check that website out if you haven't already. Mark is in the top 25 out of about 900 personal injury lawyers reviewed in San Diego. They rate lawyers based on several factors. I contacted him and arranged a meeting at a local spot. He was very cool and easy to deal with. As soon as Mark became involved, my case started to move forward and that's just what I needed. I'm a people person, so that was an absolute requirement for me, no exceptions. I can say Mark is a professional and friendly guy. I dealt with him directly in most communications, no middle person, so that was even nicer. Any question I had regarding my case he was able to answer and relieve my concerns. The end result was better than expected, despite hurdles that he had to go through to get everything together. The overall time of my case was a few months, which I don't think it was too bad given some setbacks he had. Communication with him was always good and prompt. Mark knows what he's talking about and gives you the best honest advice. He even has a book written about DUI's in California which I found interesting. Once the insurance companies finally settled, payment was prompt. No waiting time to get paid. I had the option to pick up the check or get it mailed, so that was cool too. You have to be diligent when getting a lawyer to represent you. In my case, more important than just looking at awards, certificates, degrees, or reviews, is Personality and Honesty. Hopefully, for you as well. All I can say is, do your research and look at many variables, not just reviews at Yelp. Yes, that includes talking directly to a lawyer so you can get a quick personality test and see if the lawyer specializes in your issue. Took me a while to look around and decide, but I'm happy I went with Mark. Got my case closed and moving on with life. If you have any personal injury claim and you want a nice and honest lawyer that'll get the job done, give Mark a try, you won't be disappointed.

I have worked with Mark on several cases. Mark will go to bat for you. Mark's goal is to take the weight off your shoulders by fighting the insurance company for you. Mark is generous with his time, and on the cases where we've worked together, he visited our clients at their homes many times, because he understands how difficult it is for people injured by wrongdoers.
