Don't waste your time waiting for John to do your income tax. When I asked him that I needed to make the quarterly payment on Apr. 15, he said I didn't need to. Really?! This could cause me the tax penalty! He did not return my phone calls and emails. He even deleted my emails which contained important financial info. Then he'd ask me to re-send the same emails to him repeatedly. The 888 number on the webpage is disconnected. After giving him the tax documents for more than 2 months and without any status, I fired him. He's just utterly unprofessional.

John is an amazing CPA and attorney. He has always been there for me and my family even when he is jammed. I would not consider using another CPA for my prep and planning needs!

I think Scannell is probably a good CPA and good at doing taxes. However, this past year we had some real issues with him. My husband got his tax stuff in late, so an extension was necessary. After that, we waited months for the taxes to be done. I was so desperate I started calling every two weeks. After a few months of this he literally picked up the phone and told me that every time I call, he puts our file on the bottom of the stack! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Even after that it was months later, towards the end of the year, before we got them done, filed and got the refund. I will not go back but I would highly recommend getting all your stuff in quickly and on time if you want them done in any kind of a timely manner.

John is AMAZING!!!! There is no other! He made sure that I had everything that I needed to optimize my return.

In 2014 I was audited by the IRS in regards to the income tax returns of 3 years earlier. I tried very hard to resolve the issue by myself, but unfortunately, it seemed impossible. Though it was a very complicated issue, in his handling of my case, I went from owing thousands of dollar to receiving a refund. Of course, it is very stressful when being called by IRS, but John handled my case very smoothly. His high level of knowledge in tax law surprised me and his confidence reassured me of the validity of my case. He handled everything professionally and in a very timely manner. Furthermore, despite his utmost knowledge, he is very humble, caring, and friendly. When I was audited for another year which was a simpler matter, John helped me in how to handle the case by myself. He is a very trustworthy person. I recommend him very highly for anybody.
