I am incredibly grateful to Kevan for his exceptional work in resolving an unfair civil penalty issued by the IRS for late reporting of cash gifts I received from my parents abroad—a requirement I was unaware of when filing my taxes. Even though no tax was due on these gifts, the IRS imposed a hefty penalty in the tens of thousands, and the resolution process dragged on for more than three years after we appealed. As the owner of my own law firm you can imagine my level of expectations when I had to find a law firm to assist me with a random IRS 8300 inspection.
