I was referred to Maria and it was one of the greatest decisions I’ve ever made. From the moment I spoke to her on the phone, I felt comfortable and safe. I had a very high conflict custody case and I never thought this process would end; but Maria was extremely helpful, thorough, attentive, resourceful and knowledgeable every step of the way. I felt at ease and confident through it all. She is so understanding, kind, and gracious, yet tough and hard as nails when she needs to fight for you. We won our case and the outcome was more than I expected. I’ve experienced other family lawyers and nothing compares to the care she gave my case. I HIGHLY recommend Maria. I was David vs Goliath. My ex had a powerful family and stacked the deck against me, and I thought I would never get to have my son. My ex and her family had done everything they could to keep me and my son seperated. I had nobody to help me. Maria was able to prepare me and guide me through the scariest part of the legal system; and without her I WOULD NOT HAVE GOTTEN THROUGH IT. I cannot overstate how grateful I am for her help. she is incredible and fought for me. Do not hesitate to call her.

Maria handled my custody case and she did an awesome job. She took my concerns seriously and helped to present them in a professional manner. She is a great lawyer and a very warm person, super easy to get along with and talk to about our case. Her response time for my MANY questions was excellent, she is well educated on the ins and outs of child custody. Even though she was headed to court, she still took the time to conduct a phone consult on an emergency situation and when I decided I needed to meet in person for additional guidance, setting up an appointment was quick and easy. Maria Diaz is sweet and will say that her heart breaks for whatever you are going through. But she is passive in her approach and in the courtroom. Our case is high conflict, but then for what other reason would we need an attorney? Her strategy to represent us quickly shifted focus to only making a good record so that we could do an appeal later. Her response to our concerns that she was not addressing things that needed to be said in a courtroom was that we should consult with another attorney....a few days before a deadline to file documentation requested by the judge. I do believe that Maria is kind and knowledgeable. But I don't believe that she has the confidence and voice to represent a case that needs this. Ethically Maria should have admitted early on that she was not the right fit to represent us. All the compassion in the world can't change that.

Outstanding attorney is putting this review lightly..I had just finished 30 days in rehab for alcohol and had been sober for 60 days when my ex-wife wanted to change our custody agreement. My exes agreement was completely biased and one sided and not fair and I was terrified of losing my son. I have been a stay at home dad for six years since I work at night as a chef and Maria went beyond and above what my expectations were. She was professional knowledgeable comforting sympathetic to everything she touched with my case. She had no problem squashing this new custody agreement. I can't thank her enough if you need a great attorney this is the woman you need to call .

In April of last (2015) year my wife filed for divorce. In an effort to push me out of the house and out of her and our 3 year old son's life, My wife then obtained a DV restraining order and made CPS allegations against me..I was unrepresented and facing losing my son yet again. Then I found Maria. She was an angel sent from God! She knew how to defend me against the onslaught of the system and protect me from losing my son. Not only did she get me my son back but she defended me against the false allegations by my wife. I only wish I had found her sooner. Before I found Maria, I looked into lawyers that wanted ungodly amounts of money and I paid through the nose for no help at all!! Maria worked hard and put together a case so airtight that opposing counsel settled last minute out of court the day before trial. Her rates were reasonable and affordable. She deserves more! I would recommend Maria to anyone. She is the type of attorney that destroys the cliche and renews your faith in the system. She truly is a rare personality for an attorney. She was honest, caring, and went above and beyond in all she did for me. Because of her, I can regain and strengthen the bond with my son.

Attorney Maria Diaz has helped my wife and me to obtain legal guardianship of my nephew. My nephew’s family lives in New York; his mother has been ill and unable to care for him; and his father has a full-time job with long daily commute to work. With excellent in-depth knowledge of the law and court proceedings, Maria petitioned for my nephew when he had been living in my California home for only 2 months. As typically an out-of-state child has to reside in California for 6 months before guardianship filing, Maria had to do extra work to file petition to the court. Due to her ability to successfully argue in court and her thoroughness and accuracy, the guardianship process went smoothly through initial hearing, Family Court Services interview and final hearing without a glitch, despite the complexity in nephew’s family composition and other matters. And after all the work she had done, we were surprised to see that she charged very reasonable attorney fees. We are grateful to Ms. Maria Diaz for her genuine care for her clients and compassion for our nephew. She often worked long hours for our case and we appreciate it very much. Since day one, Maria has been willing & able to call me and/or e-mail me answering all of my questions as quickly as possible. She has gone out of her way to make me feel comfortable and she is not hesitant when it comes to answering my questions. If she doesn't know an answer, she will not try to guess the answer, she will research it or use real life examples to provide me with an answer.

Mrs. Diaz was a God send to our family. We had complicated case involving guardianship, immigration, and other things.
