Shane Brengle is an outstanding and very ethical attorney. I am from Silicon Valley and had endless legal contacts in Santa Clara County, but this was not the case in San Diego. I had several post-judgment issues to address. Unfortunately, I only asked one person in San Diego for a family law referral. What I learned is that you should never ask one person for a referral, and that just because an attorney has years of experience with lots of good reviews doesn’t make them the best choice. Luckily, Shane worked on my case for a few months at the law firm I hired. After he left, I quickly realized that I had to find the law firm that Shane Brengle had moved to: GYL Law Firm. I hired Shane in July 2018, and he successfully closed the case on October 1, 2018. He was tasked with getting ongoing support for an adult child with special needs, a community stock options split, child support arrears, child care arrears, the cost of moving away from Santa Clara County, guideline support, attorney fees, Smith-Ostler 2008-2012 arrears, and 10% compounding interest on all contempt orders. Shane Brengle was successful in winning every issue on the calendar before the court. I was told by most of top attorneys in San Diego that it was impossible to win ongoing support for an adult child with special needs. I also received a post-judgment settlement for $282,000, which was handled in three months. Instead of spending years wasting my settlement, he made it happen in three months. Our previous estate attorney was retiring and we needed to find a new one. After looking at a few firms we settled on Preston Estate Planning. My favorite part about working with them is that they are incredibly thorough not only with setting up our family trust, but helping us to understand our options. It is really difficult to make these decisions, but having it all laid out so comprehensively is incredibly helpful. Setting up a trust is never fun or cheap. My family has the Life Plan as did my parents (Preston helped me close my parents estate after they passed) and my sister does as well. We work with John Preston Sr. When we had our consult call with him, I also had our financial rep. on the call. Mr. Preston clearly explained the process and answered all of our questions. Our rep. is in a different state and wanted information on how estate planning works in CA. The Preston firm was very helpful in helping me restate my Trust. John was always thinking ahead about what could happen in the future and how to take care of problems that could arise. I first met with an attorney to answer strategic questions. Later I had a few questions about the process, and I was responded to quickly and professionally. This is the third iteration of our Trust, and the first time we have felt a real sense of peace that it is done correctly and that we are not only protected but that our heirs are supported. We're quite excited. Preston Estate Planning is very thorough, and we highly value the ongoing education and support of periodic seminars and educational newsletters. Our only hesitation on a "perfect score" was the time it took to complete the process. But I guess if it takes that long to do it right, it's worth the wait.

I enjoy these presentations since the Preston team is always addressing the ever changing laws and tax situations as it impacts my estate plan. This provides peace of mind that my estate is protected.
