I hired Lawyer Hastings to address/solve a couple of difficult tax problems/liabilities. He resolved them in a way quite favorable to me.

I reached out to Jim for a consultation based on my perceived need for a CPA and Tax Attorney. I had not filed taxes for 6 years, and was worried that I would be in a postion where I owed lots of money to the IRS. Though I had already talked to a couple of other professionals about my situation, Jim really took our consultation time to go over the type of communication I had received from the IRS to break down my potential debt. He helped me figure out that the most likely scenario is that I was owed some money as well as owing, and gave me great tools to help ensure that I had all the tax information I would need to start the filing process on my own. While I did not end up needing Mr. Hasting's services as my lawyer, his honest and genuine consultation helped set me along the right path to setting myself up for success. It was a huge personal help, and I would be happy to enlist his services in my professional life as well in the future, and recommend anyone to seek out Jim and his team!

Our consultation was thorough and extremely helpful to us. One of our attorneys, Diana Tarnopolskaya, contacted us immediately after receiving the referral to request background documents relevant to our IRS notice. Her intent was to prepare a response in advance of our meeting several days later. The attorneys demonstrated a genuine interest in our case and devoted the time that was necessary in excess of our 30-minute window for us to prepare a response. This included presentation of a printed copy of a relevant IRS court decision, copies of the documents that we might expect from the IRS contingent upon the success of our response, and an outline of the steps involved in an IRS decision with suggestions on how to respond at each step. We were fortunate to benefit from the deep knowledge and experience that Mr. James Hastings demonstrated in dealing with the IRS. Perhaps more importantly, we were fortunate to benefit from the willingness that Diana and James demonstrated to devote their time and effort on our behalf.

Mr. Hastings knew his stuff, was resourceful and even fun to work with (unique for a lawyer). He has a strong moral compass and was always fair with billing his time.
