We were referred to her for a case involving 3 dogs that were in my care as fosters for a local rescue for well over a year that we wanted to adopt after finding out the rescue wanted to terminate one for being a bully breed and possibly "unadoptable." She started out strong as far as emails go, saying we would have a good case against them and their unrealistic attitudes and demands. She did nothing to help us resolve this case but give the opposing counsel money amounts on what we could do to settle the case without consulting me some of the times. She was rude, unprofessional and charged me ridiculous amounts of money she had me pay through her "non profit" page and got us no where. Stay clear of her, she has no interest in helping animals.

Christine doesn't care about animals. She actually gets mad at you for asking legal questions. I wrote her an email regarding my town's SPCA that commits ongoing animal cruelty. She responded telling me to call her the next day. I did and she said, "Remind me what your emailss was about. Whenever someone writes more than 2 sentences I just have them call me". It sounded like she never even read my email. I explained the animal cruelty at the animal shelter in detail. I thought she'd be shocked to hear that these poor animals were treated so cruelly. Her response was "Umm..hmm..." and interrupted frequently hurrying the conversation.
Then she told, "You want the animal shelter to sue you." Then she told me to look up this website and advised that I provoke the animal shelter to sue so I could get this Whistle Blower organization to represent me for free. WHAT?!
I told her I wanted to know her fees so she could bring a case against the animal shelter. She said, "I have child and I really don't have time." I have to go take care of MY now. MY CHILD needs me. She became very dramatic and angry. As if I was to blame for the fact her website was still up asking for business.
First, how could she be so cold when hearing about systemic animal cruelty? Second, she told me to provoke a lawsuit on myself? What kind of nutty legal advice is that? What kind of lawyer tells someone to go get sued? I made it clear I was willing to pay to bring a case against the animal shelter. Furthermore, she doesn't even care that in the time it would take me to get sued more animals would be subjected to cruelty. Third, why is she acting like I'm the one taking her away from her child? I don't know her. She's the one who told me to call her!
Something is really wrong with this woman. I don't think she's mentally all there.

I had the great misfortune of hiring Christine to represent me regarding a case against my neighbor who, without my knowledge, trapped my 2 cats, took them to the SPCA, had them neutered when they were female and already neutered years ago. I went to the SPCA and retrieved the scant paperwork with my neighbor's signature admitting the cats as his own. Both cats were years old; one almost bled out because of the surgery and was taken home by the vet that night I was told. My neighbor picked up the cats the next day, and neighborhood rumor had it he waited until dark and took them to the Pacific Coast highway and let them out.
Ms. Garcia had evidence, neighbors who testified on my behalf, and could have had the woman at the SPCA testify if she hadn't, unbeknownst to me, faxed her the subpoena to appear in court instead of serving it properly in a timely manner. Regardless of what you may think of my desire for justice for 2 cats who considered me their home, who answered to their names, who I took care of for 6 years, Christine took this case promising to put her all into it. I did not have experience in being in a courtroom. Christine not only lied to about the work she was doing to prepare for trial, the papers she was filing that she just was too "busy" to send to me, the laws that actually didn't exist she claimed would support my case, she had the audacity to tell me about a party she went to the night before we went to court and was a little tired from not getting enough sleep! In the courtroom she did not know how to phrase a question allowed by the Judge.
It would take 5 or 6 tries to finally be allowed to pose a question. She had no preparation for our witnesses, put up a poster board on a stand and wrote a couple of things with crayon on it as our display. I don't remember know what it was; I think I blocked it out because I was so embarrassed. Christine never told me the possibilities of what could happen in trial, never explained I could be sanctioned and what that meant, essentially led me along with her animal rights angle that made me feel she was inexperienced but her heart was in the right place.
Whatever you do, find another lawyer no matter what your situation is. She will cause you more grief and heartache than the reason you went to her in the first place.

My husband spoke to Christine this week regarding a horrible and bizarre lawsuit that his ex girlfriend has filed on us about custody of a cat they co-owned. My husband said that although she is no longer in our area and we could not hire her, she listened and was very empathetic. She offered great advice and gave us two referrals, that although we could also not hire, they got back to us immediately. After an awful court experience, their conversation is just what we needed to move forward. Thank you Christine!
