Central Coast Estate Planning and the legal help of Jed Hazeltine were outstanding in helping me and my siblings work through the complexities of a family estate issue in the area. I live remote to the area and contacted Jed after an internet search. He was able to quickly assess the situation and provide a recommended legal courses of action. Throughout the process, I was supported with savvy legal advice and strategic recommendations. He or one of his team were always quick to respond, easy to follow and the quality of the legal submissions were spot on. I called to for a consultation. Receptionist advised I could have a consultation the follwing day and I should send a summarizing email to Jed. I sent it to him with the expectation he would have it read 24 hours later. Email had not been read the following day... basically unprepared and said he'd need time to think about it. Waste of my time.

I found Mr. Hazeltine to be incredibly helpful when I hired him to help me through a very sticky and contentious family dispute. His recommendations were far more advanced in quality and preparedness than what I had heard from other lawyers. In the end, I was amazed at the result we received, and, afterwards, Mr. Hazeltine helped me with my own estate planning. He is definitely a busy professional, but he always got back to me within the same day. I fully intend to use his services in the future. I highly recommend Mr. Hazeltine.

My comments are based on personal experience in retaining Mr. Hazeltine as a lawyer-representative to contest the Will of a relative who died in Spring 2015. As we don’t live in CA, we hoped that Mr. Hazeltine would take care of the basic legal requirements surrounding the contest of this Will. While initially expressing considerable interest in our case, as soon as Mr. Hazeltine received and cashed the $5,000 retainer, he began to come up with reasons as to why he could not represent our interests. He apparently neglected to read any of the extensive e-mail correspondence we provided him, and thus with every phone-call, we had to start again from scratch (at $275 per hour!) to remind him of the basic facts surrounding this case. We grew frustrated at his lack of preparation and initiative, encouraging him to pursue a more effective strategy. He perceived our constructive comments as personal criticism, and after charging us over $1500, he decided to terminate his services. Bottom-line: unless you like frustration and incompetence, don’t hire this lawyer.
