She was pretty much a straight shooter and she handled the case very well her work ethics were excellent she kept me updated on the case and explain to me the process of my case it was very comforting and I was very fortunate to have her as my lawyer and once again thank you Denise for everything you did

Denise Pereira was my public defender. I had no prior arrests and no familiarity with the criminal court system. The first day she appeared in court taking over my case I felt trust in her guidance. She was able to look me in the eye, speak with authority and gave me hope in getting through the court process ahead. Her communication is excellent: through spoken word, email or telephone contact and significantly, in the courtroom. Denise is an amazing representation for the San Joaquin County Public Defender's office.

Mrs Pereira is awesome, while she's just simply amazing....I've been working with her for about 3 years now my case was very diffifcult like so many others basically they were trying to give me like two years and a felony for something I did not do basically she got it down to no jail time a misdemeanor in a small fine now even though I didn't do it I know it seems harsh and a lot for someone that didn't do anything but what they was trying to do was not acceptable and those are the words of my attorney... Denise represented my husband & she was upfront & honest about his case. Very respectful she she fought hard for him that showed me that she cares about her clients she never gave us false hope I would recommend her to anyone . Denise Pereira was assigned to my case as a public defender. It goes without saying that she has a very large caseload to manage. Yet, in spite of that, I really did feel like she cared and was genuinely interested in getting the best outcome for my case. In my own situation, I was looking at a felony but there were many unique circumstances about my case. She saw an opportunity and was able to work out an arrangement with the deputy district attorney and my case was dismissed. I was in a conditional release program and I still get counseling so don't think I got away with something scott free. She took the time to meet and in some cases coordinate with an investigator to interview my friends and co-workers and she really advocated to the court that I just needed some help and that there was no need to throw the key away. In any case, I am now much better and have regained employment and am once again a productive member of society thanks to Denise!
