Although Anne-Leith might be a competent attorney (I'm not sure), her staff dropped the ball many times. There were problems with over-billing, lost documents, lack of follow up, poor communication. I also felt she was hustling me for more business pertaining to unrelated issues. I do not know if she gave me good advice or not. I believe she dragged the case out far too long at my expense. Find someone else.

Unfortunately this firm dropped the ball and I had to terminate my relationship with them. I ended up paying more money to get a competent attorney. That said, he got the job done quickly and professionally. Anne-Leith's and the associate attorney tried to bill me for services that I thought were included and they called it "billable work" without my knowledge and prior approval. This firm is not professional and should be avoided at all costs. If you check other review sites you'll see that others have had the similar experiences with then. You've been warned.

I am a senior Citizen in need of having both my knees replaced and was laid off, while on Worker's Comp, after about 20 years of service. Attorney Anne-Leith Matlock was hired to represent me. She ran up a huge bill and did not keep me informed. She demanded that I pay her all of the money immediately, knowing that I was not working when she took my case against my former employer. In addition, there was no concern for my family and me when she learned that my house had been totaled in a fire. I signed over check that I had received from the fire insurance company to her firm but still, it was not enough money to cover the huge bill. Matlock did not follow the contractual agreement. I was billed for many hours in attorney fees for she and the person that she had working on my case who was not an attorney - had not pass the BAR. Matlock filed wrong cause of action and part of my case was dismissed. The bill for excessive: coping of same documents, paralegal person's hours, non-attorney person's hours and her hours amounted to a lot more than what she led me to believe that my case was worth. The bill totaled more than what my case was worth. I filed a formal complaint with the Bar. Her response to them was deceptive and untrue. According to her she bared no responsibility and I was at fault. She was following my instruction in filing the WRONG CAUSE OF ACTION. My complaint was not given the attention that it should have due to her deception. Seeing other/similar complaint/review is an indication that I am not the only one who had problems with The Matlock Law Group.
