Even among the hundreds of experienced and talented attorneys I know, Sheila stands out as one of the best. A few months back I turned to Sheila for a very important legal matter I was facing, and needless to say, she delivered! It was striking how she was immediately able to triage the legal issue I was facing, predict what I would encounter next, and provided proactive steps to protect my business. It’s a family curse. In my family, we desire to keep the peace at any cost and come up with all kinds of excuses for not standing up for our rights. The trend ended couple of months ago when I felt cheated and refused to turn the other cheek. I contacted Attorney Sheila M. Witt. This review is long overdue, but I wanted to make sure that Sheila gets the recognition she deserves for helping us with our contract dispute for services by a major extermination company. Our agreement with Terminix was that they would provide fumigation services and we even made sure to handwrite in the contract that they would NOT subcontract the service. Not only did Terminix sub-contract our fumigation services, there were still some termites visible just a few weeks later and the sub-contractor damaged and broke some items in our home. Afterwards, we checked out the reviews of the sub-contractor on-line, and the reviews were mostly negative. We were very disappointed, to say the least, and the only thing that Terminix offered us was for them (Terminix) to come and re-fumigate. With an elderly parent living with us, having to take 2 days off from work for the preparation and aftermath of the fumigation, and paying to stay at a hotel during the fumigation, this was something that was just not a viable solution for our family. We reached out to Sheila and she contacted Terminix, wrote a very professional demand and negotiated a 75% refund for the fumigation services AND payment for the broken/damaged items. We are so glad that we had Sheila on our side to handle this very frustrating situation for us. Highly recommend her for any breach of contract issues you might have!
