Several years ago, we requested her help in estate planning. In addition to revising our wills, she educated and advised on issues around Power of Attorney and Living Wills. We have three children and the situation was quite complex in terms of how we wanted to allocate our estate between them, given that two were still in college at the time and we wanted to be sure that their college costs were covered before our estate would be divided among the three. We have worked with Susan on lawsuits, LLC formation and a non-profit incorporation. The primary work has been lawsuits at the District and Appellate Court levels focused on state and local government jurisdictional issues. Specifically, a determination was sought with regard to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) issuance of hunting permits and licenses being in excess of their jurisdiction in a Boulder County Resolution area prohibiting the discharge of firearms. The lawsuit directly contributed to Boulder County directing the enforcement of its Resolution prohibiting the discharge of rifles and shotguns. Susan's work, expertise and core values in this issue were instrumental to achieving this outcome.
