She's a deeply integrated woman with a confident grasp on all the legal-technical knowledge required to create the type of estate plans I needed for my blended family and my small business. She also has the heart and grounded presence to really explain things in a way that made sense, felt clear and brought relief at the deep, existential level very few lawyers have the skillfulness to touch. Ms. Watkins has to be the best I have ever seen when it comes to fighting for you and not backing down until you have the best possible outcome! She truly cares and obviously loves to help people- this makes her a seriously special attorney. I was facing jail and a long miserable future in the justice system and she saved me from that! It is hard to know where to begin when trying to put into words how incredible Jennifer Watkins is not only as an attorney but as a person. If you only read the first sentence of this review, and I were to describe Jennifer Watkins work in one word it would be "effective"; however, I assure you that she deserves thousands more positive words. Recently I found myself facing a severe traffic charge that put my license in jeopardy. After many days of researching lawyers in the Denver area, I had found one lawyer whose reviews not only regarded her as highly intelligent, but as showing a genuine interest in getting to know her clients. I called Jennifer and was surprised when she personally picked up the phone. I discussed the details of my case with her and immediately knew my search was over. No longer did I feel like I was facing this terrifying charge alone, but was being expertly guided by a very knowledgeable friend. Jennifer told me exactly what I needed to do to receive an optimal outcome, which was not a whole lot, and she did the rest. Between the first day I contacted Jennifer and the day of court, she was responsive any time I reached out to her, constantly putting my mind at ease and answering any questions I had. Jennifer was able to schedule my court date at my convenience and when that day came her preparation and confidence helped me remain calm. She navigated the courtroom with expertise and turned my potential license suspension into a 4 point ticket with $100 fine. I owe Jennifer my sincere thanks for allowing me to maintain my life as I know it despite making a mistake. Not only did we achieve a better outcome than I ever anticipated, but I thoroughly enjoyed working with Jennifer throughout the entire process. Martha, and the entire team at Hartney Law, made the seemingly overwhelming and complicated legal process of establishing an estate plan simple and enjoyable. We told ourselves for years that it was something we needed to do but never did because of how daunting it seemed. Martha makes the process straightforward and approachable with the added services of a Family Emergency plan and Legacy video. I slept better the very next night knowing that my family wouldn't be burdened with the unknown in a time of need.

Over the course of last spring and summer, our family got the royal treatment with Hartney Law. Martha and her staff are incredibly knowledgeable about estate planning and setting up Living Wills and Trusts. Now we feel confident that our family is taken care of; that really gives us peace of mind. The piece of the planning that really served as a cherry on top of the sundae was the Illumination Interview in which we shared important oral history about our families. At first, the price seems a bit steep to take care of this, but in the end it's very worth it to ensure that our assets will be taken care of in the event of something happening to one of us.

Hiring Jennifer Watkins was one of the best decisions I made after I got my DUI. She has been working in the Boulder/surrounding areas for almost 20 years, and she knows all of the specific laws and about who works those districts. She is dedicated, hard-working, and dependable. She was always straight-forward with me, and her advice comes from years of experience. With her advice, I requested a DMV hearing and that the arresting officer be present. When the officer failed to show up, I wont that hearing automatically. That means I got to keep my license when I should have lost it. Then, when we got a DA who was trying to give me harsh penalties (30 days in jail), she postponed the court date, which eventually led to a new DA taking over my case. She pushed the new DA until he agreed to drop the charges of DUI to DWAI, and drop the charges of Reckless Driving to Weaving. This greatly reduced the amount of fine, alcohol classes, probation, and community service that I would be court mandated. Also, under her guidance, I was able to persuade the judge not to sentence me to jail. Lastly, getting the Reckless Driving bumped down to Weaving kept the amount of points on my license under 12, which means that I get to keep my license and the right to drive. She was able to save my license twice, keep me out of jail, and minimize the penalties that I was served. To anyone considering hiring her, I strongly recommend that you do, because not only will she fight for you, she is a genuinely good person who enjoys helping people who make a mistake.

Very compassionate and kind with lots of experience and skill to boot! We couldn't have asked for a better lawyer. OMG, no kidding! Because of her conviction to help others, she encouraged my son to work harder and do better for fear of disappointing her and of course me, his mother. We were not just numbers to her nor were we just some nameless source of caching! Ms. Watkins is your best friend when you've hit rock bottom, as my son felt. She doesn't only understand what you need legally, but what you need emotionally. Making one mistake should not be the last and final determining factor for the rest of your life and she understands that. Work with her, do your job and she'll be there for you.

I was pulled over for driving aggressively. Ok, aggressively is an understatement. Jennifer helped get the charges reduced with minimal penalties, which was fantastic. She's very honest, and was able to help me calm down a bit too, which isn't easy. If I'm ever in need again (hope not) I'm calling her!
