All, I came to SBFL with a unique situation. I had been married 27 years, but had had no contact with my then spouse for 17 years. I held no rancor for her and wanted a law firm that did not take an "attack dog" approach, but rather paid attentionn to patient, reasonable, negotiable common sense while of course protecting my interests. I interviewed 4 firms and selected SBFL and in specific Attorney Ashley Baliki because I was convince such could reflect the values of my approach. As it turnd out, my divorce - suprisingly -became far more contentous than I had anticipated. It went on for nearly three years. Throughout, Attorney Balicky, Brandi (her very competent paralegal) and the rest of their team met and exceeded my expectations. Importantly, I never felt that they in any way financially exploited me. Sure, the process came to cost a bunch, but I was provided with clear documention on charges and clear explanation when I did not understand a charge. This is a relatively small family law firm. I would say small, but exceedingly caring, transparent and above, capable as can be. These are competent people for sure. Their preparation for and presentation in court was astounding. They won the case in my favor, even to the extent of getting awarded a financial consideration for me because of carefull analysis that found my spouse had been hiding funds and had thus not reported a considerable amount of assets. Had SBFL not done this, I would have certainly had to pay considerable amounts. As it was, I had no financial consequences whatsoever. Lastly, throughout the divorce process, my daughter (handicapped and living with me) was going through very serious health issues. SBFL always, always appreciated and related to the additional stress of that situation. This meant a lot. I cannot find a single reason to critique their approach, their strategy, their competency, their care, their charges and their responsiveness to all my issues. So. If you need an exceptionally competent team for a family law need, one that will protect your interests and show understanding and humanity in the face of one of the most stressful events many of us undergo, by all means interview.... then hire them.
