Being a father in a custody case with an infant can be overwhelming and give the feeling that all the cards are stacked against you. These situations can sadly and rapidly become very ugly. On a recommendation from a close friend I hired Kelly McPherson. By doing so I put my daughters and my relationship, safety, health and future in her hands. Kelly is absolutely brilliant and the epitome of professionalism. Kelly’s structure, focus and knowledge of the court system is unparalleled. Kelly will work in your best interest to keep the matter civil and walk the high road while putting my interests and my daughter’s wellbeing above anything else. Kelly is extremely knowledgeable in family law and very strategic with her cases. Once you are in the courtroom, you realize what you have been paying for, and if your case does go to trial, you will not come up short with Mrs. McPherson’s representation. I was amazed at the results. She truly cares about my daughter and me and successfully fought for what is important to us while helping me maintain perspective along the way.

I have to start off by saying that my case seemed unwinnable due to me being naive and signing documents I didn’t understand during and at the finalization of my divorce the previous year. Kelly came highly recommended, having an outstanding reputation as a family attorney. I hired Mrs. McPherson to gain custody of my kids and to allow me to give them the childhood they deserve. The staff was very friendly, accommodating to my needs, and made me feel like I was part of their family. I vented, laughed and cried with nearly everyone there. Their professionalism in the courtroom and with other legal contacts was exemplary throughout the entire process. Through the months of dealing with a very messy, lengthy legal battle, she kept me informed, and ahead of the game. She ran everything through me first for my approval, and helped me make the best decisions for my kids. With her expertise, I was able to take the moral high ground and not allow myself to to fall into “dirty laundry” fighting with my ex. I felt well prepared when we went into the court room. I was very impressed with the amount of time and effort she and the law firm devoted to my case. Often I would receive emails late in the night and weekends, which was much appreciated. I would highly recommend Mrs. McPherson and her law firm to anyone who needs legal services.

Knies, Helland & McPherson is the group you need. I've been in custody issues for years. After one meeting with Kelly, she knew what I wanted and had a plan. Kelly and her team kept me up to date on everything, and I was able to deal with the rest of my life knowing she had it under control. We walked out of mediation with me getting what I was asking for. I've already recommended Kelly and her team to others. This is the group you want in your corner especially if your Military or Prior Service.

Called this office originally at the referral of a friend whose Ex had been represented by Jennifer Hellund. His advice to me was “she is who you want!!” That in and of itself spoke volumes to me. Spoke with their office manager Ruth who is an absolute pleasure and capable of handling people who are beyond stressed and super emotional. She set me up with the soonest available appointment with Jennifer. Unfortunately circumstances forced my hand and suddenly I had a court date in 10 days, the day before my initial interview!!! I called the staff of Knies, Helland, and McPherson in a panic! They were completely professional and dedicated to getting me representation I was comfortable with. When I arrived at their office for my initial meeting I was warmly greeted by the staff and amazed by the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Ezra was faced with a 10 day deadline when I hired him. With little lead time he rose to the challenge, kept me informed, managed my expectations and provided me with everything I needed to make our time in court a success. Ezra is a complete professional with the heart of a teacher. He walked me thru my case, his vision forward, the best and worst outcomes and our plan for each. He helped sort thru what would support our argument and what didn’t matter in the eyes of the court. In the end I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of my case. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to have my back. The whole staff of Knies, Helland, and McPherson is professional, friendly and dedicated to their clients. I have already referred them to a friend.

All I learned was “Family Law is not about Justice” and wasted thousands. Choose wisely, you are only important here if your case is a “slam dunk”.

I would not recommend this firm and more specifically Jennifer Knies. She was our CFI and it was the most awful experience we've ever had. She was not interested in facts or finding the truth. She did not give our family a chance, she only catered to the other party who paid for her services and who had a lawyer. Ms. Knies lied in her official report, made huge, peraonal assumptions about our family and it devastated us. She was not fair or unbiased as she was supposed to be. I do not trust this law firm, and would never encourage anyone to use them. Extremely unprofessional and her poor judgement had lasting effects on our kids and our family.

If you’re looking for someone who can handle lots of complications and possibly even additional cases related to divorce or family law, she’s the one.
