He left my sister and me in the dark for months…. Really almost a year about my father’s inheritance. DO NOT recommend. He was hard to reach and did a poor job.

Kevin R. Hancock helped my wife and I with our estate planning. He gave us sound, practical advice and provided us an exceptionally thorough understanding of wills, trusts, living wills and POAs. Excellent work; highly recommended.

I used my company legal plan to create my trust and this was the the highly recommended law firm. I was disappointed that the work was not actually completed by them but by a another, I assume contracted, attorney, John J. Husson at The Law Office of John J. Husson, LLC. In our initial meeting, he seemed to know what he was doing so we decided to move forward with creating the trust with him. He seems to be a nice person but does like to talk a lot so you should be prepared to potentially have the meeting run longer. My biggest issues came up the day of signing. I had some questions regarding the Living Will and needed some additional information regarding the End of Life Act in Colorado and how I could potentially add that in as part of my Terminal Illness portion, if possible, as I really did not want to be connected to any machines, starved, and waiting to die medicated. I want this process expedited if I was in some form of vegetative state later in my life. (For context: I recently lost my father to cancer and it was the hardest thing I had to do was to see him in the hospice unresponsive, not being fed, and being given pain medication every 4 hours until passing, which lasted for 4 days.). I thought I was asking legitimate questions regarding the process and I did not feel as if I was being rude or unprofessional in any way. After a bit of reading the documents, John came back into the room, and asked if I had any other questions. I asked something and this is when he flipped out on me, raising his voice stating that I was rude and that he was so close to turning me away as a client. He then went on to say I was rude in an email to him prior to that, keep in mind I had only sent 1 email, asking why some text differed in the trust documents if it was intended on being the same. To say the least this was the most awkward experience I have been in especially having to sit there with him during signing afterwards. Since I was not able to sign a document at the time of signing everything else, I had to make a second appointment to sign. I tried to not ask any questions unless absolutely necessary. However, when I did ask something, during conversation Mr. Husson continuously interrupted me and would not let me finish a sentence. Even now, I still don't know if I had selected the best options for my living will. I just could not wait to be done with this attorney and would not recommend him. This is ultimately why I am leaving a 1 star review, even though I never met or were even introduced to the attorney we came to see. I would like to say however, that Mia Pitre at the law firm was one of the most pleasant people to deal with in person and electronically.

Talking and putting final Estate wishes on paper can be a daunting and sobering situation. The Law Office of Kevin R. Hancock made us feel so comfortable with that situation. They presented options, made the legal language very understandable to us, and offered context to our seemingly special situations. Kevin, Katilyn, and Dixie all made us feel very comfortable from the initial phone call to the final signature. We walked away feeling so much peace about the plans that we had put on paper. We had put this process off for several years, which we should not have done, but when all was completed it was worth every penny for the peace of mind that we felt the minute we walked out of the office. This whole group of professionals felt like family.....they had our best interests at heart and we really felt like they cared about what we were trying to accomplish. Large firms have their place, but we felt that you could not find a better group to work with locally than the Law Office of Kevin Hancock. You will be treated like your situation is their own!
