I hired Mr. McGuire after a bad experience with multiple disability lawyers. He took my Brain Injury case when no one else would. I was very impressed with his knowledge, experience as well as his patience in helping me through the disability process. Pete took the time to personally answer all of my questions, never made me feel rushed or just like another client. He was very easy to talk to, straight forward and honest about everything and never made me feel like he was just about the money.
When I showed up for the hearing, the lady who signed me in could tell I was nervous and her comment was “Oh Hun don’t worry, you’ve got Pete McGuire, he’s great!” She was exactly right. I would definitely recommend Pete McGuire to ANYONE that is looking for a great lawyer.

This was a very easy process. Mr McGuire explained everything and was very reassuring. I didn’t have an attorney to start with the judge advised getting an attorney or representative. Mr McGuire was in the waiting area with another client and I had overheard him with her and he was so pleasant and nice. The process is so overwhelming and he was great

Mr. Mcquire is a likable guy but there wasn't much communications from him or his people during the extended time it took for my case to find resolution. Kind of questioned the uncertainty of my choices throughout the process.

During this long process in my application for SSDI, my attorney was very responsive and reassuring. During my hearing he was very knowledgeable, helpful, confident and calming when I was so very nervous. I would definitely recommend Peter McGuire! Even the admin assistant at the front desk was very helpful as well.

When I felt I was at my last straw and no longer understood the information SS was flooding me with, Peter and his paralegal Amanda took over. They explained the process, they handled all communication. They collected everything I would need for my hearing. They gave me confidence that regardless of the outcome of my hearing, I was in the best hands possible. They were kind and understanding.

With the help of my brother, Peter McGuire of Sullivan, Sullivan & McGuire was contacted regarding a denied claim for Social Security Disability.
Life was extremely difficult at this time. However Mr. McGuire was a knowledgeable, kind person who gave me hope that I might be able to win my disability case.
The "can do" attitude he had resulted in a successful outcome for me which I will always be grateful for. It made a huge difference in my life.

I initially applied for disability w/a large national chain and then by myself, ultimately deciding I needed and wanted a local professional's help. After some research I set up and had an appointment w/ Peter Mcguire. From the minute I entered the office suite I was treated with respect by his staff and him but NOT with a snotty, demeaning attitude that I feel many lawyers can project. I felt that Mr. Mr. Mcguire listened carefully & heard all of the details of my work history & subsequent inability to work. He was professional and thorough yet respectful and kind...and for what it was worth, that he truly cared about me as a person. It was hard enough to be in the awful situation I was in: wanting and needing to work but no longer physically able to do so, 61 years old & unemployed after 40-some years....yet he allowed me to maintain my dignity & self respect, as did his paralegals and receptionist. They initiated the necessary paperwork & filing immediately, and regularly kept me up to date regarding my case. It's kind of a drawn out waiting game but whenever I called his office I was talked to with patience and my questions answered completely....even toward the end of the procedure, when I nervously called his paralegal Meghan with my fears & tears, over & over! Two days before my hearing with the administrative judge Peter met with me, prepared me for what to expect & calmed my nerves. Of course he was by my side at the hearing, which was a relief, also (I'm obviously not a fan of lawyers, judges or courtrooms!) Mr. Mcguire's office is not in a fancy building but is easy to find with plenty of free parking. I didn't need a lawyer in a building with a marble lobby or fancy waiting room; I got what I needed: an efficient, professional, pleasant, intelligent and sharp lawyer (and his staff) to guide me through this unpleasant-yet-necessary process so I could receive the benefits I'd been paying in to since I was 16 years old. I would certainly recommend Peter to anyone needing an attorney of this type. He was accessible, seemed to know the rules of the game well, handled me with professional respect and kindness and was pleasant to be around. All together, these traits made this process as positive as it could have been, and I thank Peter (and his staff) for their efforts on my behalf!

Unfortunately, I believed any lawyer representing disability clients would be doing so because he believed in his clients and their need to gain an alternate source of income due to disability. However, now I have seen another side to a disability attorney's practice and feel money could be the motivating factor instead. Particularly when a year passed by and I didn't hear from my attorney but office staff instead. He seemed nice enough when I first met him. He appeared interested in my case and felt he could win my case. Unfortunately I had such limited contact after that so when he was short with me at our meeting prior to the disability appeal hearing, I was surprised by it. He was cutting me off, not giving me a chance to ask questions and wasn't as educated in the SSDI process as I expected him to be. Thankfully my case was approved for disability benefits. Reading through the decision by the judge I could see the attorney could have done more because the decision was barely in my favor. For example, having more recent medical records. I asked if he had any or needed them and he said no, I only needed them if I wanted to make my disability onset begin sooner. After reviewing the decision I can see it would have strengthened my case to have them. Bad advice from him I thought. Now going through the final stages after being approved I am finding out crucial things related to income I was receiving for employment that he should have told me might create problems. Highly advise to avoid this attorney. Look for someone with more knowledge in the field.
