Carisa did what was necessary to complete her job. Filed motions, did the paperwork. She really wanted me to plead guilty. Told me to take the first deal. When I informed her I would not be taking a plea deal the conversation got heated. She raised her voice and told me “When this blows up in your face I will know I did my job” She sent me 2nd opinions from other defense attorneys recommending I take the plea deal. I declined. A week later the plea was cut in half and i declined again. Months later as my trial approached she did an excellent job. She was in contact and planning a defense. She was filling motions to have evidence suppressed and trying to work with witnesses. She had good insight and helped me a lot. In the end my case was dismissed. I knew that it would be as a jury convection was not probable. I’m glad I trusted myself. She put a lot of pressure on me to take a deal. I have full faith she would have defended me in court to the best of her ability if we had made it there.
