I hired Mr. Hill to handle a tenant eviction. Having been referred to him, I neglected to Google him or his firm (Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen,, Orbison, & Lewis in Denver, CO); huge mistake! If I had done due diligence, I’d have run the other way! Mr. Hill made representations on which he failedto deliver, was sloppy about details, repeatedly ignored my questions and requests for updates, and tried to make it all my fault when I expressed frustration about how my case was being handled. The most egregious part of Mr. Hill’s performance was his wording of a settlement offer document. This document should have stipulated the opportunity for me return to court for a judgement in the event my tenant defaulted on her agreement (which she did). Instead, Mr. Hill’s wording dismissed the case, giving me absolutely no recourse except to start all over. I don’t know whether Mr. Hill didn’t know what he was doing, didn’t care, or was simply exploiting my lack of legal knowledge. I just know that, it cost me $4,762 and 10 weeks to achieve absolutely no result. I still have a tenant who owes me money and continues to live in rodent-infested filth. I reported these issues to Richard Poorman, the firm’s managing partner more than 2 weeks ago. To date I’ve received neither acknowledgement or any sort of response. Speaks volumes. I
