All lawyers should be professional and knowledgeable. What set Eddie ( he didn’t like to be called Mr. Joy ) apart for me was his demeanor. I used him for a tough real estate transaction a year ago and found myself in an undesirable situation recently that required an attorney. He handled all aspects of the situation in a way that set me completely at ease. I don’t review much because I feel people hired to do a job should just do the job but I am reviewing his law offices so highly because of the WAY he and his staff handled my situation. If I could give more stars I would. Thank you!

Over the past 6+ years, many of my clients have used Attorney Joy for their real estate closings. He consistently goes the extra mile to resolve issues and always represents his clients (and realtors) in a fair, professional manner. I have recommended him to several realtors who have expressed the same. Attorney Joy responds on weekends and evenings (even during a vacation when urgent), and there's never a delay in closing due to his office.

In our case, Ed Joy served as GAL, supposedly looking out for my child's interests. He listened to my ex and to the child, but never came to hear my side of the story. Neither he nor the judge seem to have read the judge's decision in our divorce case from a couple of years before, which would have clarified that my ex was not to be trusted with complete care of our fragile child. In one court date when he was later to show up than expected, I detected the strong scent of alcohol on his breath. I recognize that family law is a rough business, but it is a GAL's job to listen to all the parties involved and then to look out for what is best for the child. He failed miserably at this one job.

Does not return calls or emails and barely glances at material privided to him.

Refuses to communicate with all necessary involved parties. Has yet to return my escrow or give me a reason why he will not do so. I would definitely stay far away from him if you are looking for a real estate attorney. This is from a first hand client experience. Beware of practice. Rude attitude, failure to work on file within an acceptable amount of time. Oh yeah and he will try to sell you something that the bank already foreclosed on without their permission. I am now seemingly out of $2,000.

I had the opportunity to work with Edward Joy on a listing in Clinton, CT. The seller was based in Rhode Island and due to a challenging health condition, the legal documents that needed to be signed had to be delivered in her home personally. Eddie delivered the documents and the consummation of the transaction even it if meant going out of his way to perform his duties. I was grateful to Eddie for taking care of all the legal aspects for my client wholeheartedly. I am pretty sure my client did appreciate his tremendous effort even though she is no longer around to express it.
