Worst attorney ever, don’t waste your time. Actually, you should run in the opposite direction. The 5 star reviews that people have written about him are bogus. I would give ZERO stars if I could. Very persuasive and friendly initially but after signing his (handwritten) engagement letter (a red flag that I should have paid more attention to), he went dark on me. Mr Volman’s handling of my divorce modification was characterized by a complete and utter lack of professionalism, legal knowledge, decorum and communication. He failed to represent me at all levels and completely botched the outcome of my divorce modification which resulted in an extremely unfavorable financial result for me. The divorce modification left me owing hundreds of thousands of dollars child support arrearages that was based on a calculation over a period of time where I had gaps in employment and did not earn any income. Throughout my engagement with Mr Volman he was rude, insulting, discriminatory, offensive, defamatory, unresponsive, unknowledgeable, uniformed, disorganized and he acted in a way that was detrimental to me in every way. He provided little to no counsel throughout the course of my engagement and displayed extreme disorganization and carelessness. He invested little to no time to understand my existing divorce agreement and failed to provide me with any strategic advice as to how he intended to present the facts of my case or act in my best interests for my divorce modification. Mr Volman was also largely unavailable to contact by phone either on his office phone number or on his cell phone number. In 99% of instances, my phone calls to Mr Volman went into his voice mail, and he responded by email with brief and unhelpful one word or short phrased responses. Completely unprofessional and very stressful when a conversation is necessary to discuss important matters. 2 days before my divorce modification hearing Mr Volman made disparaging and abusive remarks to me, verbally insulted me, berated me about the facts of my case, and made discriminatory remarks about my marriage to my second wife. I ended up having to settle my case on my own as Mr Volman made it clear that he was not going to represent my fairly and did not understand the facts of my case. I filed a grievance complaint to the CT Superior Court to report Mr Volman’s conduct throughout his poor and non-existent representation of me including overcharging me. He charged me an hourly rate of $400/hour which was much higher that he charges most of his other clients. I know this because he made a mistake on one of his invoices which stated an hourly rate of $275/hour and he admitted that he made an “administrative mistake” on this particular invoice. He charges based on your zip code and knowledge of your income.

Atty Volman has helped me couple of times and each time he assisted me in complex matters like a true professional. If I ever had any questions he and his office were always available to get me answers. From beginning to the end of each matter I was kept in the loop. I highly recommend him.
