The office was ramshackle, the secretary was watching movies and didn't even realize I had arrived, and the lawyer was extremely arrogant, yet also ill-informed.

He does not work for you and i have over heard him trading cases with the procecutor ... I used his services many years ago. his retainer was high for a first offense and first time offender. All he did was he just plea it all and didnt fight anything . Ive had public defenders serve me better then he ever did. I would not have him represent me if i was dieing on my death bed. I would choose a public defender over him any day of the week i promise you that!

The best lawyer in Dover hands down! Definitely top 3 in the state. Honest, hard-working and reliable. If you need an attorney for anything, John Garey is the way to go!

Do not hire him!He will not make a effort to fight for your case,he will not advocate for you,I caught him in lies,late to court,I seen him giggling and laughing with the prosecutor(but yet says he couldn’t get a better plea),and very unprofessional!He shows up to court late and looking unprofessional.He talked to me very rudely and unprofessional,for example he stated,”I can’t twist the prosecutor’s arm to make her change her mind” When the prosecutor came up with her plea agreement ,all he told us was “she’s not budging”. He had no rebuttal , no course of plan to fight for a better plea, just “she’s not budging.” But yet, you see him in the court room, talking super friendly and casually with her and the other prosecutors,but yet you can’t get any better plea…yeah ok,that was a big slap in the face!He was always SO annoyed and burdened when I asked him what he can do to help my son get a better plea,with no previous record .Working with him was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had, working with someone “professional.”Maybe if you’re not of color you may be fine,maybe and maybe not. ⚠️I am kindly warning you all do NOT set yourself up for failure!I do not want anyone or their family to not get the services they are paying for, especially when it comes to serious court decisions,that could affect the rest of your life!!!Peace, love,and blessings to all!💕💕 P.S.All people of color definitely better not hire! Matter fact please just keep your self out the court system!The court system is designed to imprison people of color and hand out felonies, like free covid shots! Have control of your lives and stay out the court system!!Ase!!!

Melissa Dill is very aware of client needs and options. She brings forth any relevant information at the exact right time during court. Grateful for her service!

I used his services almost 2 years ago. His retainer fee was a bit high. Although, he kept me up to date with mailing paperwork his initial feedback was to take a plea. The problem with that was a public defender could've offered the same. Of course, I said no and he immediately offered something better after I said take it to trial-I took that 2nd offer. Once in court, he was late-everything ran smoothly after but I noticed that he represented a different client for the same charges and offered that client the same original plea that he offered me...problem is that client took it. Once my case was closed I didn't know that I'd be getting 5 points on my license, my lawyer never discussed that with me. It seemed as if he just took the cash and didn't fight for his clients.Needless to say, be careful when choosing a lawyer to represent you...they seem to all work together. I wouldn't use his services again.
