Brief history – my (now) wife had travelled from China to the States almost 5 years ago to visit her best friend whom she know from childhood in China. Her tourist visa soon expired. She wanted to stay in the U.S. Shortly thereafter, I met her and I fell in love with her. I wanted to marry her. And I wanted har to feel secure that she could remain in the U.S. I was familiar with Julie Oliver-Zhang as she is known by her lawyer peers as among the finest Immigration lawyers, as well as personal injury lawyers in Washington DC. Atty Julie Oliver-Zhang is a member in good standing and past governor of the DC Trial Lawyers Association, she has a prefect A-plus rating with Martindale Hubbell and an AVVO rating of 10 which is the highest rating for any lawyer. Clearly she is well respected by her fellow lawyers in Washington DC. I was delighted that she agreed to take on our case - with a mission to obtain a Green Card for my soon to be wife. Upon my first conversation with Julie, I was confident that we were in good hands. Her retainer agreement was reasonable. The staff at Oliver-Zhang law (Annjelica, Marcie, Rachel) were all up to date on the progress of our case, including but not limited issues such as asylum, my wife’s previous marriage in China which needed to dissolved (not an easy task to accomplish here in the U.S.). Our questions were always answered knowledgeably, with sound advice, on a timely basis. The Oliver-Zhang firm was well prepared to file the seemingly endless volume of forms with the U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS). Julie and her firm guided us to provide detailed family histories requited by the USCIS, and proof of our own wedding (following my wife’s Chinese divorce). The firm advised us about the medical history that USCIS must know about each of us, as well as the needed immunization vaccines that USCIS demands.
