I used sarah in 2017 for an amendment to my original divorce settlement. She was recommended by a friend who had used her for a contentious divorce. I did not want to use my original family attorney and I was specifically looking for a strong negotiator.
Our first meeting (paid consultation in 2016) was extremely informative. My original settlement was poorly written and I wanted Sarah’s help in amending it. Sarah laid out a game plan and was very forthright about my options. She’s strategic, wise, and excellent communicator. She gives attorneys a good reputation too as she was very honest with her billing.
I only wish I had retained her for my original settlement as I believe I would have spent half the time litigating and would have had an air tight order.
My experience with Sarah was she’s a non nonsense, get the job done phenomenal negotiator who has the empathy to deal with sensitive, complex family issues and knowledge to litigate and resolve custody disputes. I highly recommend her.

Sarah was my attorney for an unforeseen divorce case in Fulton County - perhaps one of the best decisions I've ever made. From day one, and on short notice, Sarah guided me through the process, explaining the procedural issues and time frames, the legal and jurisdictional requirements, the parties involved and how they may affect the ultimate outcome, and my role in the process. She was also very transparent about fees and how I would be billed. Any time she and I needed to speak via phone, Sarah was extremely considerate of my time (and money) and made sure to answer questions in the most succinct way possible while providing me with just enough information to feel comfortable about key decisions. Sarah had an amiable relationship with our family law judge in Fulton County, which made me feel even more at ease with the divorce process. Always professional and poised, when Sarah did need to push opposing counsel to adhere to the rules of the court system, it was done in a firm yet polished way. From the first correspondence between our attorneys, it was clear that Sarah was leaps and bounds ahead of opposing counsel in education, skill, and relationships.

I had a two hour consultation with Mr. Lastra concerning my pending divorce and custody matter.
I have multiple children with my spouse, including a stepchild from their previous marriage whose life I've been a part of since they were very little. Shortly into our meeting, Mr. Lastra asked me about my children and whether our relationship was biological, and then explained very compassionately that - unfortunately - if it were contested by either or both of their biological parents, he would not be able to guarantee me custody of or access to my stepchild as a de facto parent. He assured me that if he were representing me and I truly did want to pursue it against all odds that he would do everything in his power to help, but cautioned that it would likely be a long and costly uphill battle with an uncertain outcome.
As heartbreaking as that was to hear, Mr. Lastra was the first lawyer to really prioritize and ask about my concerns for the children rather than choose to focus on my spouse and our finances and marital property. His honesty about that - the one outcome I care most about - gave me peace of mind that he wasn't just telling me what I want to hear to get me to sign his retainer.
Additionally, while his consultation was not free, without my even having to ask, Mr. Lastra was extremely considerate of my budget. At the very beginning of the meeting, he verified the hourly rate that I had been quoted previously and told me how long his consultations with other people typically lasted. Then, every twenty minutes or so, he was kind enough to let me know how much billable time had elapsed and allowed me to set the pace of our discussion accordingly.
Throughout the rest of our meeting, Mr. Lastra was both extremely inquisitive and educational. Rather than simply listen to my account of events, he engaged frequently, asking regular questions and taking notes. He also shared a wealth of his own knowledge, pulling from both general law and process as well as experiences gained from similar cases he'd handled in the past. During our consultation, I felt both well listened to and that I was speaking with an obvious expert.
Prior to our meeting, I had discussed this matter with a few other lawyers, and while they were all quite professional and empathetic, none of them felt like they were being as realistic with me about the possible timelines, outcomes, costs, and the availability of themselves and their associates to adequately represent me and my family's interests as Mr. Lastra did. Though his rates are above average, my first impression from my consultation is that there is very good justification for it. He has absolutely earned my endorsement.

WOW!!!! Really don't know where to start. Wish there was more than 5 stars. Not only is this one of the most knowledgeable, caring , and honest person and attorney you will ever meet. One thing when Ms. Hynes tells you something you can rest assure that it will be done to the best of her ability. Ms. Hynes will not pull any punches with you she is straight up and honesty and prepares you with every scenario so you are prepared. Ms. Hynes has an awesome and knowledgeable staff who are as honest and supportive as Ms. Hynes. Ms. Hynes took on our case and we owe her more than money and words can describe. She fought for the wellbeing of our child and she helped me and stood beside me and held me up until our case was over and we WON!!!! Christian Conrad and his entire team are some of the most caring and dedicated people I have ever met in my entire life. You go into these horribly traumatizing situations in life and have to rely on strangers, and what a gift I was given these incredible bearers of light during this horribly dark time. The office is beautiful and serene. They send copies of what they file, and you’re always informed as a client. I hired Christian Conrad on the recommendation of a friend. Christian has to dive into a complex and agonizing custody battle due to the lies and false allegations from my ex-husband. Even with the documentation I provided the court to substantiate the lies and false allegations, the Judge ruled in favor of my ex-husband who has a criminal record and an unstable home life. As a teacher, I value integrity and ethical practices. Christian also reflected these core values and demonstrated "best practices" in court.

When I started looking into getting divorced, I was pretty nervous as one would imagine. I did some research and ended up getting in touch with Jerry. He was very professional and quickly found a way to settle my nerves. One thing that struck me was after talking about typical general scenarios, he recommended that my ex and I try to settle as much as possible on our own as it would alleviate needlessly dragging things on, only making both parties lawyers richer. Finding the right attorney can be a challenge, especially for a strong personality client (i.e. me). It was very important that I found someone not only extremely capable of dealing with my case but also dealing with me. I didn't trust him to do what was right and I never listened to what she was trying to tell me. So, a few months go on and now it's time for mediation. I am scared to death. I wrote her and told her how I was feeling, and she called me to explain the process. I felt much calmer after her positive affirmations. At mediation we were having a hard time to agree on any settlement that was fair to both of us but then I remembered what she was going to counter with before I completely shut her down. This was my second experience with a family law attorney for my custody case. I was represented my Ophelia Bernal-Mora. Unlike the first time I had an attorney, I walked away from the case feeling like I was represented by someone who clearly was representing my interests, knew what she was doing, and moreover, cared! She is extremely knowledgeable (heck she is board certified and worth every penny!) and when there is another modification or contempt issue filed in my case, she will be the attorney I go to without hesitation. She is very up to date on case law and the laws and I think knew more than the judge we had did. She does not overbill or nickel and dime on her billing like I experienced with my first attorney. It can get expensive, but I think you get what you pay for and for a board certified family law attorney which there are not many from what I could find, her prices are pretty reasonable. Her firm also no charged many many items throughout my case to my surprise and satisfaction. She is clearly not in it just for the money and wants to help people. I cannot thank her enough! Kendra Thomas was/is awesome! Divorce is messy child custody is messier. Kendra is a pro. You don't always get what you want, but the court system is setup to make sure of that. You get what you need and Kendra is a professional advocate for the children caught in the middle. My kids were so lucky to have her advocating for them, so they end up with time with both parents. In August 2022, the judge hearing the custody/visitation case regarding my minor son (10 w/ ADHD) appointed Ms. Thomas for his representation. Ms. Thoman was great! She interviewed my ex-husband and me. She spoke to my son privately to collect the information she needed to determine how she would present her(his really) case. She was truly for my sons his best interest, so much so that at the final hearing my ex-husband and I felt good creating a parenting plan together without the judge all while considering what Ms. Thomas expressed to us. We were able to talk amicably, but most importantly co-parent in a way that we had not been able to do in years.
