When I first came to Alexis, I was heartbroken and discouraged by the way the LAUSD was treating our child. We had tried another attorney who had taken our money and not helped. I was a bit traumatized by the process when we found Alexis but - WOW, what a difference the right lawyer makes. It was such a relief to be able to trust that there was someone on our side that knew the system and would advocate for our son. Alexis has known everyone at each of our mediations and everyone has treated her with respect(believe it or not, this is not always the case). I was in a terrible situation in a 20 year marriage, I interviewed 3 attorneys before meeting Ms. Tambasco, she was the only one

Although my child's case is not related to special ed, Mr. Berliner followed up with my urgent voicemail and called me after 8 pm, once he got a chance to respond. People get very stressful and emotional especially when they are not treated fairly and tend to carry away from the main course. I think Mr. Berliner knows this very well and stays sharp to the point. He spent about an hour or a bit more to listen to our situation, asked additional questions to clarify a few moments and tried to keep the conversation in a right direction. Unfortunately, I was out of time to make proper decisions for the next day, however, Mr. Berliner still suggested several options that were very helpful. I highly recommend Mr. Berliner to parents who are having problems with their schools.

We engaged Attorney Berliner after unsuccessfully trying to get our local school district to realize that our daughter’s educational needs were not being met. After literally years of trying to wade through PPT meetings and negotiating IEP’s we finally challenged our school district to consider an “out of district placement” so that she could finally get the specialized education she needed. Nothing that we said, no evidence that we provided could convince the school district that they were failing her.
From the outset, Attorney Berliner was personable, professional and very straightforward in explaining the various options we had. Once we engaged his services, he attended a PPT meeting with us and represented our position in a very clear way. When the school district continued to hold to their position, Attorney Berliner helped us through what ultimately because a legal battle that we could never have fought – or won – on our own.
I am very pleased to say that our daughter did receive the out-of-district placement that she needed. She has now moved through the high school system, and is a better adjusted, more motivated and forward looking young adult than she was, or would have been if she had stayed where she was.

Frank Clowney is an excellent attorney and has the respect of judges within the profession as evidenced by a judges comment as we appeared before him for arbitration. The judges first comment was "You have a good one here", referring to Frank Clowney's reputation in appearing before him. His next comment was equally telling. "How much do you want" in response to settling the arbitration case.

In September, 2016, I contacted Atty. Pate regarding an incident I considered to be age discrimination in my workplace. In a no charge consultation, he advised me to contact my human resources department regarding the incident. I did so. My company investigated the incident, and it seemed to have been resolved. Six months later, my company took what I believed to be retaliatory action for my initial complaint. I resigned from my employment under duress two months later. I again contacted Atty. Pate who believed I had a discrimination and retaliation case against my employer. He advised me every step of the way while negotiating with the employer. Atty. Pate was helpful when I tried to collect unemployment and the employer appealed twice. My unemployment claim was successful. When the employer would not agree to a settlement, Atty. Pate filed a complaint with the EEOC, and ultimately a suit against the employer. Nine months after my second contact with Atty. Pate, the case was settled to my satisfaction. Atty. Pate kept me informed through the entire process. He was patient and empathetic and worked hard on my behalf against a very difficult employer. I am grateful for his efforts and guidance.

As a seasoned business professional, I have retained at least 10 attorneys in the past for matters such as bankruptcy creditor actions, partnership disputers, labor law defense, customs disputes, commercial real estate and copyright actions.
Of all the law firms my businesses have retained, Sally and her team at West Themis are by far, the most astonishing. They work 10x faster and more efficient than all of the attorneys and law firms that I've used. Sally's methods are very concise, methodical, and strategic. She filed a certain motion in a case that my former attorneys at a larger firm never did. With her firm, I got answers, strategy, and results at much lower rates.
Sally is the managing partner at West Themis Law. This law firm has a team of attorneys and professionals that handle different related areas of law that helps them strategize and attack each matter with different areas of law. They don't do copyright.
All in all, I am very impressed. I think their secret to delivering quality, fast, and affordable representation is because of Sally's management style and use of technology. Mr. Maroko was my Family Law Attorney more that 30 years ago advising and helping me in matters related to child custody and child support. I had contacted legal aid regarding family law advice and was given a few references. Larry was the only one over the phone that made me feel like a person he genuinely cared about and wanted to help. I was not looking to hire an attorney at the time, but just to get advice and assistance on the steps I should take for filing. After a couple months my situation got a little more complicated for someone with no legal expertise to continue on their own so I made an appointment to meet with Larry in person. As in most divorce cases, my ex was pretty hostile and I felt I had no one to turn to and help me thru the situation emotionally. Thanks to my lawyer, Lorenzo Esteban Herrera, aka, "Larry Herrera," I felt really confident hiring him as my defense laywer over a lawsuit of "Grandparents visitation rights." I, as a parent, and recent widow, was left with accusations of money being owed to my ex-inlaws and also threatened by them to take away my daughter and have full or partial custody. Larry Herrera helped me defend myself as I had every right to in order to continue my life raising my daughter aswell as defending my rights as the beneficiary person on my wife's life insurance. The gavel dropped hard on my inlaws after being exposed of lying under oath and were only granted minimal visitation rights with my daughter at only once a month for a few hours under my terms and conditions instead of what my ex-inlaws were asking for which was; Spending the night every other weekend, holidays, birthdays, and vacation time. Im glad that Larry Herrera helped me with my case because the experience really gave me a sense of strength and courage after reaching victory when the judge ruled her judgement in my favor. Robyn and I graduated high school together, many years ago, which is how I know her. Robyn has always been polite and well-spoken. Recently I found myself in a situation with a former employer that was a surprise to me. During this time in my life, my livelihood was turned upside down. Even though I knew Robyn prior to my case, I was not aware that Robyn was an employment attorney, until she reached out to me regarding another case that my name was brought up in, that she was working on. On that same phone call I questioned Robyn about the type of law that she practiced. Robyn informed me that she was an employment attorney who dealt with employees that were wrongfully terminated, discrimination, retaliation, etc.. This information is what I needed to hear at that time. I asked Robyn if she had time to speak with me briefly and to look over some paperwork that I had received a few weeks ago regarding my wrongful termination with my former employer. Robyn agreed. Robyn took notes as she listened to my concerns and advised me that she would look over everything including my paperwork and would return my call to discuss the matter further. While I waited to hear back from Robyn I started to Google her to find out information regarding her and her prior cases. I was in awe with the information that I found out but not really surprised due to the person I knew in high school. After researching Robyn for several hours I knew that she was the attorney that I wanted to handle my case if she deemed that I had one. Robyn returned my call a few days later and agreed to handle my case. From that point on Robyn has been very thorough with me, upfront about all of my options, and has worked tireless hours on my case as well as keeping me informed. My Ex Did Not Get My Police Officer’s Pension Thanks to Delores Mayer
Delores did the near impossible: she kept my ex-wife’s hands off my police officer’s pension. When I tell other officers that Delores saved my pension in my divorce, they can’t believe it. You will need a specialist like Delores if you have a pension at stake. She also was able to get me full custody of my sons with my ex-wife paying child support to me. Delores was also very professional and took the time out of her busy schedule to talk to me about my case and listen to my concerns, even at night after I got off of my shift. Lawyers are like doctors, truly. We all hope that we never need one; but if we do, we want, and need, the absolute best. In respect to the absolute best, I can say that I found that in Brendan. As a person of color (more specifically a black male), I unfortunately encountered extreme racial aggression and discrimination on my job. As you might imagine, that alone brought with it great stress. Then, add having to deal with the legalities and legal battles that come along with that. Those two things combined are enough to drive anyone crazy, and they nearly did me. What made my legal journey different was Brendan.
