Top notch in every single respect. From the moment I met him, he became a very valuable, trusted member of my team of advisors. I've worked with many attorneys and by far this is the premier one. I view him as far more than attorney, more so an advisor in the area of trust and estate planning. I've brought many family members to him and referred friends and associates.

Unfortunately this lawyer was extremely disorganized and inadequate. Mr Lowen Jones neglected to bring in reports during court and did not represent and fight my case. Due to his lack of efficiency as a lawyer to represent me, my life for the past several years has been changed for the worst. He did not fight for my rights as a mother. It’s a very sad disheartening experience that I don’t wish upon any mother. I would not recommend this lawyer.

I recently hired Susan to handle a divorce that was uncontested and had a post-nupt guiding the entire divorce proceeding. Susan often called with confused questions forgetting the details of my case. Her continual delays in creating the divorce paperwork were inexcusable. Her overall gruff manner and lack of communication are infuriating. She neglected to file the post-nup in accordance with the law and left me at great financial risk. If she was so remiss in my simple case, you should be very wary of using her for yours. When confronted with this egregious error she agreed to return my retainer - and then reneged on that agreement by claiming her error was easily fixable. Be very careful. She is not a woman of her word and her legal skills are clearly are highly suspect.

Attorney Moch gave my case the diligent energy and unwavering devotion to fight for what was right for me. She was trustworthy and ethical in a setting where these qualities can be hard to find. Susan provided the organization and control I needed in a pretty chaotic situation. She is tough, experienced, and clearly knows how to get the best for her clients. After experiencing the work of other lawyers, I can honestly say I am deeply thankful that Susan Moch was on my side. I don’t know where I would be now without her defense, wisdom and guidance.

Joy chicatelli completely bungled my open and shut cake walk of a case. Completely cowered to opposing counsel after not even briefly reviewing my case. I spent 2 hours in her building while she talked on the phone about how great she was in court to some poor person on the other end of the line. Joy waited until the court date to even bother to look at the weak case against me, despite being given weeks prior notice and meeting with her in person at her office. Joy ended tripping over her tongue lying in court, to my family, myself and the judge all on record. In the end joy couldn't handle the pressure of divorce court and I had to find a replacement. The replacement dismissed the same case without even showing up in court because the case was so weak against my family and I. Stay away from joy chicatelli even if her prices seem cheap, she is a terrible attorney and will cost you if you don't find a real lawyer

Attorney Chicatelli handled a CPO for me that was not only a traumatic experience for me, but for my child as well. She is well versed on the laws and statutes and was able to explain the terminology in laymens terms, as well as the court proceedures and proceedings; making the whole experience a little less painful. She is very precise in her terminology, and thorough in her paperwork and articulate when explaining information. Attorney Chicatelli is well respected among her peers, and definitely commands respect in the courtroom. I have already recommended her to several people in need services in the area of Family Law.

Overall, very disappointed. If I could give Jerome Sabbota a zero, I would. Hired Mr. Sabbota because of positive review from a friend. Took the money up front right away, but was not firm on what could have been done. He literally waited until the last second to take the first plea deal possible. With no prior convictions, and with all of the things he had me gather such as college education, character reference letters, etc. he promised a lower end of guideline, the prosecutor offered much more above the higher end of guideline, and he made it seem like the plea deal was a gift. When waiting for the plea deal we often asked him to speak with the prosecutor but he only wrote them emails and only asked a few times if they could do better. I have seen many similar cases in Wayne county, where the defendant had prior convictions and received half the time. Not once did he say anything reassuring or positive but only spoke as the prosecutors he failed to convince. I would not recommend Jerome Sabbota to my worst enemy.

They were always quick to call back if they did not answer the phone. I felt completely comfortable through the whole case. Being that laws are different in Arkansas than North Carolina they made sure they were very clear on how everything happens there, and were able to successfully help me with my case.

Adam was my court appointed attorney in a case involving CPS. He did nothing. Refused to do simple things I requested. I actually had to go above him and ask the judge himself if I could speak. My child would have went to foster care if I had not spoke up and did his job for him. I fired him and hired Steven McNeil. And I won after firing Adam. He's lazy . Unprepared. Rude. Very short with his clients. I absolutely DO NOT recommend him.

When I first contacted Randa she was sharing an office in Sanford with an experienced Lawyer. I obtained her services to deal with an ongoing Divorce. Randa was very concerned and helpful in the office but was meek and disheveled in the courtroom. Midway through the proceedings Randa informed me that she was going out on her own and opening up a sole law firm. I feel that this move was exicuted too early in her career. Randa always seemed like she was just behind the curve in the courtroom. She was drastically out classed my the oposing attorney in my case. She forgot to list evidence that the court needed to see and so it was dismissed. I do not know if I would have won with a different attorney but I do know I had a very slim chance with the attorney I chose. I will not recommend her to anyone that asks.

I went to her free consultation and was blown away by all the information she gave me so I decided to hire her with no doubt that she will do a great job. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I've handed her all the related documents and summarized my case so she can be fully prepared but I was shocked how she came in without reading / learning about my case. I was very nervous at the hearing so I listened to her advice but all she did was to take the easy way out for her, ignoring the best interest in me. It seemed like she didn't wanna put effort in protecting me or fighting for my benefit at all. Probably because she wasn't prepare at all. Even the opponent party said, " You should speak up, that's what you are here for " She came unprepared, her legal knowledge is very limited and she made many mistakes. I was shocked when I read the legal document she created after the court. I needed to point out many of her mistakes. My case included simple calculations and she has an MBA but couldn't get the easiest math correct. I wish I never hired her. I told my friend who's going through her divorce now that I regret hiring her then she happened to know her. She told me that Lucy's response on avvo was so fast, she was thinking of hiring her too but her emails were not responding to the questions she asked so she ended up not hiring her. I checked her profile prior to hiring and felt I was very mislead of the " Rising star " award. I don't know how they give out awards but do NOT be mislead by that because it didn't apply in my case. The receivers is the worst performer in court. She did such a lousy job. I never write reviews but decided to post here to save another me.

Peasley charged me over $30,000. Forced me to sign a divorce settlement agreement, behind closed doors. The agreement was dated incorrectly and notarized without the notary having witnessed my signature. The MSA was never filed. Peasley entered me into a child custody agreement (never filed) without my consent and charged me billable hours. Child support was based on joint custody, but my child resided only with me his entire life. Peasley did not specify any amount of my settlement which constituted child support. She told me she was retiring and may not be able to finish my case and then withdrew as my attorney immediately after settlement, leaving me and my minor son unrepresented, broke and disadvantaged. When I last saw her to retrieve my disorganized and partial files, Peasley was consulting with a new client. Certainly not retired. This attorney is not a family law attorney, as she did not represent me or my son to the best of her ability.

I was very unhappy with the representation I received from Ms Hernandez during my divorce in May of 2020, she gave me very little guidance and no explanation, she allowed my ex-wife's attorney to bully her, causing me to submit a lot of unnecessary paperwork. Rachel Hernandez is an amazing and very professional lawyer. I can’t recommend anyone better if you need family law help! She helped me find success with my divorce. She fought hard for my rights, was very understanding of my military background, and never lost sight of what I felt was ultimately important to me (my son). She is very knowledgeable of the legal system and Texas divorce/family law. She’s excellent in the court room, and can hold her own in any negotiations or case arguments. Rachel will defiantly out do any other attorney(s) in shear will to ensure her clients get what they want, need, and is fair. I was referred to her by a very dependable attorney and a retired judge to represent me in Travis County for a military divorce proceeding, and at first meeting I was very impressed and very hopeful after talking to her. During the whole of the case, I found that she was very keen and well prepared against my spouse's very high priced attorney(s), and ultimately got me more time with my son, a more-than-fair portion of the divorce settlement, did not waist my money, was always their when I needed to contact her, and gave me the ultimate peace of mind. That is why any time someone needs an attorney in Austin, Round Rock, Williamson and Travis Counties, I recommend they start by contacting Rachel Hernandez first.

Well, I am currently being represented by John Brinkman in a criminal case involving Domestic violence. One thing that really sticks out is that he very RARELY keeps you informed on your case or returns calls. He has been representing me for about 2 months now and I have called him to discuss my case before trial over 20 times trying to reach him... I have only spoken to him 2 times over the phone. I can understand that attorneys can be busy, especially since he also works for the state as a public defender, but that should not mean that you neglect ANY of your clients. A good thing about John is that he does seem to know what he is doing... Even if he does not tell you what he is doing or keep you informed on anything going on at all. He walks around with this "air" about him that most "big-shot" lawyers do, but that can be a good thing because you need confidence in your defense. but at the same time you should not have that smug approach when you're addressing (or not addressing) you clients. All-in-all... id give John a 5/10 review... He does his job, but he isnt very "client friendly" or available.

Mr. (Daryl) Bail is a joke. Hiring him means you're overpaying for legal services and there are plenty of other better lawyers in the area that cost THOUSANDS less. No sense of ethics whatsoever. He's openly disclosed to other people the amounts of money he has drained from his clients. Client confidentiality means nothing to this guy. I totally get why he's not a named partner at PHB. He'd ruin the firm's reputation. When looking for a law firm to represent you I suggest looking anywhere else.

Every year Boston magazine publishes the results for top attorneys in Boston from different legal specialties, from business and criminal law to family and employment law. If there are top 100 attorneys; Edward Wayland would be voted as the top 10 WORST attorneys in Boston. Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect from my case?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  4. What is your approach to handling cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. Who will be working on my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the likely timeline for resolving my case?
Get an estimate of how long the process may take from start to finish.
  8. Do you have references from past clients?
Testimonials or references can provide insight into the lawyer's professionalism and effectiveness.
  9. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understanding potential challenges helps you prepare and sets realistic expectations.
  10. Are there alternative ways to solve my legal problem?
Discuss options like mediation, arbitration, or settlement to resolve the issue efficiently.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  1. Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  2. Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association.
  4. Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to gauge client satisfaction.
  5. Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.
  7. Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  8. Ask for References:

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
