I had Mr. Steeson in 2014 and he did a great job on my case. I was looking at 1-3 years I sat in jail for 5 months and when I went to court all charges were dropped. He was very firm with the case, he always kept me updated with everything when I called him. He fought for me til the bitter end and I couldn’t think him enough! I was referred to Aaron by a friend with whom he had worked at the Bronx Defenders office, and when I first met him, I was nervous, confused, and in need of answers. During our initial consultation, he did more than just answer my questions. He listened, he was attentive, and he cared. Equally important, he clearly knew the law, was resourceful, and was committed to helping me with my case, whatever it took.
As others have noted, his communication was unparalleled, as he always made time to address any questions or concerns I had. When you're facing an uncertain future, I can't stress enough how crucial this is.
During my ordeal, I discovered that law is rarely binary: right vs wrong, allowed vs prohibited. Aaron is that rare critical thinker who understands this. Yes, he has decades of experience, but perhaps more importantly, he is smart and intuitive.

***When working/talking with attorney John McNeil there was never any issue with feeling judged or discouraged. There was always timely communication, meetings, new information, and follow up’s post court dates. He responded to my questions and presented all information, leaving me without questions or concerns related to his knowledge and attention to each case.
I would highly recommend this office and their services.
Longer version:
Hiring a lawyer for someone when you’ve never been in any trouble yourself is daunting to say the least. Will the attorney judge the situation, client, myself? Will they take advantage of my ignorance and inexperience? How will I know if they are actually good or just like a ‘car salesman’?
The client had a very complex case with two current cases in Shelby county, a hold in MS, and then later complicated by a new hold and transfer for federal charges.
This wouldn’t be a 100% honest review if I didn’t admit it took a couple days to originally hear back from the office (I recommend using their online inquiry instead of calling, it seems the electronic paper trail works best); but in those couple of days calling around to many other attorneys some referred me back to this office while others seemed to be judgmental and discouraging (maybe trying to make me feel desperate for their services).

Hiring Mr. Dube was the best decision I could have made for my family. From the first phone conversation I knew he was the right person to defend my husband. Mr. Dube took the time to get to know my family and although always professional he never treated us like we were just his job. He has extensive experience with the federal court system and it shows. I will always be grateful for him and the time and attention he gave to my husband’s case. Mr. Dube was not only able to get my husband released on bond while awaiting sentencing but also was able to get his sentence below the minimum guidelines for his crimes which is almost unheard of. Dimitri Dube, the most professional and comforting attorney I have ever worked with. My husband had two cases at the same time. He was out on bail but then was detained by ICE for three months because of an old charge which he satisfied by deferred adjudication but wasn't properly documented. Dimitri checked in frequently to gauge where we were with the case. I had to hire an immigration attorney then a criminal attorney and fortunately God sent us Dimitri through a friend. We were so fearful of everything but Dimitri was calm and collected and said "Celeste, everything will be fine. Don't worry let me do my job. " so I let him do his job. We were in court for almost two years. Dimitri was with us every step of the way fighting with us and for us. We only had one income in our household and Dimitri worked with us to accommodate us financially. Talk about a seasoned Attorney. Brilliant and goes the extra mile to fulfill his duty. Dimitri is very knowledgeable and down to earth with an awesome work ethich which makes him comfortable to work with. Followup, calls are some of Dimitri's strengths. If you are in search of needing an attorney to defend you in court, look no further. Mr. Dawson has provided exceptional defense for me on multiple occasions. He has gone as far as traveling to northern Virginia to represent me. He is able to provide an insightful strategy, while adequately preparing you to have the best legal defense in court. He will fight for you to have the most the favorable outcome, given the circumstances of the case.
For example, he successfully defended a possession charge to which I was found not guilty and had the case dismissed. On another occasion, I was charged reckless 95+mph. Both charges were misdemeanor offenses with possible jail time. And through technicalities that would’ve easily been overlooked by an attorney that isn’t thorough, we won in court.
His litigation skills are exceptional to none. He is a well seasoned veteran with knowledgeable experience. A heavy hitter in the courtroom. His office staff are great to deal with as well. I would highly recommend his services to anyone in need of defense or legal counseling.

Once considered taking a plea deal since I couldn't afford a long drawn out court process. He encouraged me that it would not be for nothing. Told me, without a hint of hesitation, that it would be okay. Now 2 years later, I went from fighting a felony assault charge to a NOT Guilty to the same case. I hired John Forsyth to help me get my husband out of jail after he was arrested on a fugitive warrant when, unbeknownst to us, charges were filed against him in another state. It took us 9 very stressful days to get him out, and I don’t know what I would have done without John Forsyth. At every turn, John gave practical, sound information and advice that empowered me to make decisions about next steps… pros and cons, implications of various decisions, etc. He cut through the quagmire of legal jargon and procedure to help me understand what was going on and what I needed to do. Hiring John to defend me in my case was the best thing I could have done. John is a true professional through and through. He is hard working, diligent, tenacious, and extremely knowledgeable. He is a straight shooter, and very focused, and keeps his clients informed at all times as to the goings on involving their case, no matter how small the detail may be.
John and his amazing defense team represented me in a sexual case where I was falsely accused, and was facing multiple charges that would have resulted in possible life sentences. My case dragged on for 3+ years in part, due to the closure of the court system due to the pandemic, and John stood by me every step of the way. Throughout the entire ordeal, John worked on my case with true professionalism, and always kept me updated as to what was happening, and what was the next step we would be facing as the proceedings continued. Knowing the severity of the accusations I was facing, John also acknowledged my fears and anxieties throughout the case, and displayed a very compassionate side as well by always encouraging me to stay strong.
As the prosecution continued to try different tactics ( ie...attempting to raise my bail, adding charges ), John always had answers that negated all of their attempts. John and his team responded to every "curveball" the prosecution threw at them in a timely and professional manner.
Ultimately, a plea was offered for a much lesser charge, and we agreed, as this would be absolutely the best possible outcome to what were the original charges. Although I didn't receive the full exoneration I had hoped for, I owe my freedom an my life to John Forsyth.
To anyone who is facing criminal charges of any kind, I highly recommend you look no further than John Forsyth. He is amazing, and between him and his team of professionals, I personally can not imagine you would find anyone better than John.

I have had the privilege to know Jason Wingfield. He is professional, and a matter of fact kind of lawyer. I was subpoenaed by the State of West Virginia to testify at a hearing before the Magistrate Court. Shortly before trial, our attorney had to step down. GBBJ was recommended and that's when we were lucky to meet Jason Wingfield. From that point on, Jason took complete control, having to learn the details of the case with very little time before trial. Mr. Seeger was recommended to me by a friend a work, and I must say he was excellent and helping me straighten out my automotive/ driving permit legal issues.
I was facing what I considered to be a serious reckless charge though not a DWI. Not a serious charge but nonetheless, through his advice and counsel, I was able to rectify my issues and allowed me to retain my permit and keep working without having to turn to public transport.

Mr. Adair was able to work out an favorable plea deal for me. The prison term was shortened by 3 years. He assisted in my defense in a very professional and knowledgeable manner. I cannot recommend Andres Ortiz enough! He was able to keep my Father from getting deported despite an extensive and complicated criminal history. A case highly challenging that no other immigration attorney dared to undertake. I consulted and hired the wrong immigration attorneys until my colleague and good friend (also an immigration attorney and previously a USCIS employee) suggested Andres Ortiz. She told me that “If Andres can’t help you, then nobody can”. Andres quickly rose and surpassed all expectations. The case lasted approximately four (4) years and although Andres moved law firms to ultimately opening his own practice, he always maintained us informed and up to date on my Father’s case. Back in 2008, I got into some trouble with multiple DWI charges, in a few different counties. Another lawyer referred me to Dana, and when I called him he answered my call immediately. I ended up hiring Dana for all of my cases, and he resolved them all to my satisfaction. In fact, the outcome was MUCH better than I could have ever expected. Fortunately, I didn't need a criminal defense attorney again until 2016, when I got another DWI. I wasn't sure if Dana would handle the case, because it was far away from his office. I called Dana from the police station, and he answered the phone and was able to give me advice regarding what I should do. I followed Dana's instructions and hired him to handle the case. I was really scared about what would happen to me. The charges were serious, and I was going to lose my license for a very long time (maybe forever), if I was convicted of the charges. I was concerned about my job, as I travel extensively for work and, as a single mother, rely upon my job to support my child. During the course of my case (which was handled very efficiently), Dana was always available to meet or talk by phone to address my concerns. He has the patience of a saint! Somehow, Dana kept my license from ever being suspended and got my felony DWI charges DISMISSED! He saved my life and I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone needing a compassionate, skilled criminal defense attorney.

I retained Thomas after my previous attorney advised me to plead guilty to a felony that I did not commit. Thomas actually spent the time to examine all of the prosecution’s evidence. He picked apart and disproved all charges before it went to trial. He relentlessly fought for me and my family every step of the way.
