I received a Reckless Driving 5-point ticket in a Camden County town. Officer didn't like the way I changed lanes. We pleaded down to Unsafe Driving (Which is a larger fine but no points and no recurring insurance charges). Admittedly it had been 19 years since my last traffic violation, which I'm sure helped the judges decision... but stepping down from 5 points to no points is a huge win regardless of the circumstances (in my mind). Never had to go to a trial with officer. Simply negotiated with prosecutor at initial hearing, and judge agreed.

Carter is an outstanding and passionate attorney. I was arrested a couple years back on Halloween at a road block by State Patrol for a "DUI" after passing all the field sobriety tests. I was driving a friend home, but State Patrol arrested me anyway. I contacted Carter after I was bailed out. He quickly took my case, reviewed the evidence, police tapes, and was determined to prove I was truly innocent and should not have been arrested that night. My case was presented at the state level where they agreed I was not to be charged with a DUI due to the lack of evidence. Since the case was brought to the state court, Carter was able to arrange a plea bargain to reduce to reckless driving with no probation or nonsense alcohol and drug evaluation/classes.
Carter fought for my case and was able to make the best of the situation and prove me innocent. The case took multiple years to close, however, he kept me informed of what was happening and what to expect the entire time. He is patient and will answer any questions you have and fight for what you. I highly recommend Carter. He is very passionate about his job and is truly on the defendants side.

A few months ago I was arrested on several serious charges. After initially consulting with Carter, I decided he would be the best person to represent me based on his clear understanding of my situation, and his ability to explain what was happening in layman's terms. I’m pretty ignorant when it comes to legal processes, but Carter was very patient in explaining my options to me, and answered all of my questions completely - regardless of how silly or paranoid they were. He was attentive and professional through the entire process, which reassured me I had made the right decision in hiring him. Ultimately, Carter was able to negotiate a reasonable plea agreement with the prosecutor, which was really the best possible outcome for my case. I hope I’ll never require this type of legal service again, but I would certainly rehire Carter if I did.

From very beginning, Kevin was always upfront with me. When he first took on my case, I knew right away that he was the right attorney for me. I knew this because in the very first meeting, after reviewing the charges and the options on the table were grim, he told me the truth and what my expectations should be. He didn't sugar coat it, but on the same token, he also told me that its still early and he would do absolutely everything he could to help me. And he did! He gave me a list of things I needed to do right away to start helping my case and checked on me regularly to make sure I was doing them. Many of those things I believe helped the judge make her decision. But most importantly, Kevin found that the evidence the State Police claimed to have was inaccurately measured in their favor. And so he hired an expert in the field we needed, and because of that the State Police were forced to correct the details of the charges brought against me. (The State Police rounded up the quantities in order to push my charges into a Class 1 Felony)
Everything Kevin did for me was by the book. He was early to every meeting and court appearance. He answered every call , text and email. And on top of that, he continued to call me and check up on me throughout my entire diversion program (2+ years) and further. I truly believe that Kevin Buchan is the reason that I was able to be with my wife for the birth of our first born. We followed his instincts and advice, and managed to turn was was looking to be an unfairly long sentence, into a diversion program that let me be with my family. To this day I am eternally grateful for what you did for me and my family.

I have had Jesse as my attorney for years now...not by his choice, more like a lack of options for him by my many self inflicted situations of needing him repeatedly to represent me. I made this man's job more difficult than it needed to be, more times than he needed or should have had to represent me, but you know what...he never once gave up on me, never gave me false hope, never sugar coated the possible outcomes, never doubted me and never once walked in the courtroom to defend me like I was anything less than his kin! I could be (and was) 100% in the wrong and guilty (so many times) and he fought for me and defended me to the very end! When I gave him nothing to work with for a defense, he still gave it his FULL effort and complete attention when I had his back against the wall. I can't tell you how supported I felt the many times he would tell me "you don't deserve to be in there..." (prison on minor violations). It was easy to get him on the phone and get responses from him... I've heard horror stories of other inmates not being able to reach their attorneys for weeks and months...Jesse and his assistants were efficient and quick to respond and resolve any questions I had, anytime of the business day. I would constantly boast (brag really) about how much I loved my attorney when I heard others complaining of the 'public defenders'. You can tell the 'public' part of his title does NOT limit measure or regulate the amount of compassion, energy and care Jesse puts into his clients and work. He has a passion for helping people, no matter their economic status, tax bracket or lack of responsibility (my worst trait). I don't know where I'd be if I had a different attorney...probably still in prison. Jesse is amazing and I will never forget all he has done for me...and the positive, patient and caring attitude he maintained the entire time...4 years...thats patience!!! I just had my paper cut last week and Im afraid to try and find my footing knowing he isn't legally obligated to be attached to me anymore. I was charged in Federal Court with a fraud case. Somebody had recommended Alexandra Rengel from the firm of Mercado & Rengel and after speaking with her and her partner Ivan Mercado I hired them. I am a business owner who has lived primarily out-of-state since 1981. I have a second home in Minnesota. My situation occurred in 2017, after a cop harassed me for nearly an hour in a parking lot. Unfortunately, this occurred in a suburb whose cops are notorious for harassing innocent people. I was "guilty" of driving with expired plates, and knew it; I'd been out of town working, forgot to renew the plates on the car I keep in Minnesota. I apologized to the cop but he continued harrassing me. Oddly, he did not write me a ticket. Instead, he spent nearly all of his time asking me irrelevant personal questions (e.g., about other cars I own but do not drive).
Months later, I received a court document that I did not understand. According to the document, I was facing several thousands of dollars in fines and a jail sentence. Without hesitation, I retained Mr. Sessoms. The conclusion was that the judge let me off with a year's probation- no fine, no jail time. This would not have happened without Faison Sessoms's exceptional creative thinking and guidance. An important PS is that I have twice before seen Mr. Sessoms in action; throughout the years. I don't know of another Minnesota attorney with his experience- he really knows his way around the court systems- and knowledge of this state's judges. (It was actually a retired judge who recommended him to me.) I have not hesitated to recommend his services to others, who were equally pleased with his services- and hence I am doing so, now. I've never had to deal with the court system until a year and a half ago. I was referred to Mr. Sessoms through a friend of mine. Needless to say that I was scared and didn't know what to do. Mr. Sessoms took hold of the reins and got me the best deal that I could have come out with. He was always there to answer questions and always answered the phone. No runarounds. My son was arrested on a weekend on a mistaken identity, and Janie's first comment was "I've got this." She went to court on Monday morning, had the warrant and extradition recalled that morning, and worked non-stop to have him released in another state - all two days prior to July 4, with everyone else headed out of town. At the follow-up court hearing, all was dismissed. Janie was incredibly knowledgeable and prepared, which contributed greatly to the speed of handling the case. There are not enough stars for her.

I was arrested on November 12th 2015 in Oregon on an outstanding warrant for Probation Violation from Chattanooga, TN. I was extradited back to TN. My life turned upside down 3+ years ago when the unexpected happened. Before I knew it I was talking about criminal defense and my name was attached to something I did not do. Our case was a very difficult and complex situation crossing a state line. We contacted the James A. H. Bell Law Firm regarding a criminal defense for our son. He turned the case over to his associates, one of which was Chelsea Harris. Chelsea gave it her all for almost 15 months to give my mentally ill son the opportunity to properly defend himself against totally false charges that were made against him in Tennessee. She fully and thoroughly researched related cases and prior rulings in order to help give him this opportunity. We have had contact with her in the evening and on weekend days showing that she has worked long and hard hours on his behalf, not just during customary office hours. There were numerous court appearances that required a lot of drive time for her as well. She shows a genuine interest and caring for her client. The case was finally dismissed and we have Chelsea to thank for this.
