Vadim, a great lawyer, I will definitely recommend over any other lawyers in the area. He made it super easy for me to understand my case and my charges that I was charge with and what options I have. He help me step by step very professional, very helpful and very respectful. I also kept asking him stupid questions to see if he will get pissed n start cursing me out, but he answered all my questions to my level and made me sure that I 100% understood. Mr. Frankel was a great lawyer and was on top of my case the 10 months that it lasted. I did not have to worry about anything, other than showing up to court. When I was charged with a felony DWI I need a lawyer who listen, care for and defend me to the best of their ability. Having children and a career, I knew that loosing my license would be detrimental my children's lives because I could potentially loose my job or need to quit my job. I had initially hired a larger firm, with the mindset that "you get what you pay for." After a few weeks, I found myself to be utterly disappointed with my decision. I signed the contract and payed the fee, but nobody would return my calls in regards to my case, or call me to update me on my case. I felt like I was in the dark. Then when I finally did receive a call, instead of the lawyer talking to like their was hope, he talked to meet like I was just another case in their case load. I was utterly disappointed in my decision. I then began saving money to seek out other representation. A coworker of mine suggested I meet with Attorney Melanson. After meeting with him for a short time, I realized he was the person I needed from the beginning. He made me feel like he had my back at a time when I desperately needed someone to. Attorney Melanson returned my calls almost immediately, was honest and upfront about my case from the beginning, and treated me like I was his most important client. He made sure I knew the worst possible outcome but fought incredibly hard to get the best possible outcome. In the end, my case was reduced significantly. I was arrested for two DUI’s a short time apart. The first lawyer I hired (not Kevin) was from one of several solicitations I received in the mail a short time after my arrests. Since I knew nothing about how this all really works, I decided that they were all probably pretty much the same, so I hired the lawyer that was closest to my home. He took my $1000 deposit, and showed up for both hearings, (which really didn’t take much preliminary work on his part). I was very concerned at this early juncture so I tried to reach him at his office several times before trial on either case and he didn’t return my calls until shortly before the first trial. When he did, he said he’s been very busy with cases that are more serious and asked why I was harassing his office, even though I had only called and left polite messages, at most twice a week, without a call back. Needless to say I knew I made a big mistake hiring this guy. So I kissed the $1000 goodbye and quickly looked for another lawyer.
Kevin was recommended to me by a relative who actually works for another lawyer. After talking with him on the phone for a short time, I had a good feeling about him so I decided to make an appointment and speak to him in person. I think I just gave him my name and case numbers, but before I arrived he had already familiarized himself with both cases. He explained everything to me in detail, and patiently answered all of my questions. Although I was, of course, still concerned with the possible pending consequences of the DUI’s, I left his office feeling confident that he was really going to do his best for me. I had been so worried about losing my driver’s license, jail time, criminal record, car insurance, job reputation, etc… I didn’t want to be concerned about my lawyer too. I do field service work so my driver’s license is critical to my livelihood. I came to the conclusion that I really needed to put full faith in my lawyer and let him do his job. With Kevin I felt I could do that, so I did.
Over that course of both cases and many trial appearances, I became even more confident that I had chosen the right lawyer. I discovered that Kevin really knew is way around the court room. He had a familiar rapport with the court officers and officials and knew the personality of each of the judges. He seemed to be well liked by them. He knew exactly how to make the system work for us, and to use a verse from an old Kenny Rogers song, “knew when to hold em, and when to fold em”. He was very versed in court procedures and legalese. He knew which of the legal maneuvers to use and at which time. He kept me completely informed throughout each of the trials and proceedings. Although I’m no expert in evaluating the way a trial goes, I was amazed at his expertise and subtle finesse.
When all was said and done, both of my cases were discharged! I knew I didn’t deserve jail time or to have my license suspended or any of the other consequences, including losing my job, that would have come with a guilty verdict, and Kevin did everything right to assure that didn’t happen. I know he knows just how very grateful I am too, from my obvious joy at the outcome.

Used Kevin for my boyfriends VOP hearing. It was a first time tech. violation for a DUI case. Not only did he get the detainer lifted and avoid further jail time, he was very upfront and honest. He did not give false hopes or make unrealistic expectations. Even for a simple VOP hearing, he put time and effort into the case and even followed up after the case to ensure he was released. I am a city employee, in 2014 I was arrested for allegedly committing several felonious non-violent, non- job related criminal offenses. I had to find a lawyer who understood the plight of the average everyday working citizen who was a single parent minority living from paycheck to paycheck. I found him, Steven Questore. Never in my lifetime did I think I would need a lawyer, much less be able to afford one who practices out of the Woolworth Building across the street from City Hall. The moment I reached out to Steven's Law office he returned communication in less than 1 (one) hour. After explaining in detail my situation to him, he assured me that he could help me. Upon my first in person meeting Steven set up a payment plan that allowed me to make affodable monthly payments as he worked on my case. I signed the retainer agreement, he had officially became my lawyer. I met with Steven on several occasions so that we left no stone unturned in my defense, most importantly he believed in my innocence. As I stated I am a city employee and any form of a criminal conviction could have literally ended my career, (I was already placed on administrative duty because of the arrest).
How would I provide for my son, pay for his private school, what would happen to
us if I lost all that I had worked so hard for my entire life? Scared is an understatement to describe how I felt. Steven understood this, he settled my fears and put my mind at ease. Steven worked on my case keeping me updated every step of the way. This went on for almost two years, it was not always good news, postponements, new DA's, new judges, offers to settle made by the prosecution that were just not acceptable. There was never a time that I had to lye in wait for Steven to get back to me, he makes you feel like your case is the only one that matters. Bottom line, he cares about who you are as a person and what affect this will have on your life. He sticks with you, no matter how long it takes, Steven understands the plight of being a minority in America and having to go up against the Justice System. Hi everyone, appreciate your help with this. I had 3 Amex cards that were all used for business across 2 businesses. Two payments on one of those cards (related to a business that was struggling) was missed in the summer of 2019 which resulted in all 3 cards being cancelled by Amex (the other 2 cards, related to the same business had no perfect payment history). That card which was opened in 2016 eventually went into collections and charged off. Which brought down my credit score to 450, I also had delinquent accounts, deeds in lieu of foreclosure. Mr. Barrera, Jr. was my attorney in a DTPA /Product Liability case that involved 4 international corporations. He was a wonderful Plaintiff's Attorney! He kept me up to date on all petitions and motions filed by the defendants and all that were filed on my behalf. Gregory Simmons was appointed for my husband's case recently. Luckily the case was dropped about as quick as it was charged. This attorney is definitely on top of his stuff though. When he went to visit my husband he had paperwork for my husband to fill out so he could talk to me. Also he had a plan as to what the next steps of action he was taking would be. He was well prepared. When I contacted his office they were very helpful and let me know what was being requested and the status. When I called back as requested a few days later, we were advised that because the case was dropped before the request was completed there was nothing more available. I have no doubt that if we would have needed to proceed further with more time that this attorney would have been great representation for my husband.

After I was arrested I searched for and spoke to numerous lawyers and felt no confidence. I began looking through the"Top 22 Lawyers" list and found the Law Offices of Daniel and Hudson. I spoke with the paralegal Brittany and she had a lawyer call me back within minutes. After speaking with the lawyer, Mr. Halstead (a military Veteran) I was more at ease and knew this was the right lawyer. The up front cost wasn't ridiculous and he was already making a plan on how to move forward. We spoke often at his office answering any questions I had and he also called me to let me know what was going on with my case. My charges were very serious and I was originally looking at a possible 25 years, but with his advice to hold out for a better outcome, it was 8 yrs, then it was just probation then it was dismissed. I owe it to Mr. Halstead for his knowledge of the criminal justice system and knowing when and how to present his case. I was in a big messy divorce and allegations arose of misconduct with my child ( to put it mildly ). After putting money down with a criminal lawyer that I will not name, I saw the beginning of a scary path because the lawyer lacked sufficient experience in these type of cases. So I looked up the Daniel and Hudson law firm and decided to present my case.
I was informed of what to expect and what not to expect. But throughout the conversations I’ve seen the experienced lawyers treating this case with diligence. I used Douglas A. A'Hern for my husbands case it was a drug case and Mr. A'Hern was always available anytime I would have a question. He would personally answer any question or concerns I had. Having used numerous attorney's in the past I know that it is hard to find a good one that does not want to retire on you. I have used D. A'Hern for several differant cases with myself and my family and I will continue to use him in the future as well as refer family and friends. He took the time to explain the process that I was going through and at each step explained what was happening, what I could expect and how we were going to achive the desired result. I found that he was very knowedgeable and responded in a timely manner when I asked questions about the probate process and how to proceed. This process has been very difficult to deal with since there are several family members involved and he has continued to help focus on the task at hand even when your personal character is attacked for trying to fulfill the last wishes of a loved one. John Toland is my hero! He is a down to earth, sincere professional. I was charged with a federal crime and facing the possibility of up to 15 years in prison and needless to say this was the scariest time of my life. When I met with John I knew he was my attorney. I recommend the Peek & Toland firm 100% - they gave me 110%. We won one of the most difficult cases with the odds completely stacked against us. I would say at least 90% of other Austin law firms would have lost my case. I say this because other firms I brought my case to were very negative on the case. While Peek & Toland were not exactly positive on my case, they were willing to exhaust every possible avenue under the law to win the case, and they did!
From the first moment I met with Peek & Toland, they made me feel at ease and comfortable during what otherwise can be a very stressful time. We all make mistakes; some of us make illegal ones. being caught is horrifying. Your fate is left in someone else’s hands, and you have little control of what the consequences of your actions will be. It’s like having the lights turned off, it’s pitch black and you can’t find the light switch. Mr. Metos was my light switch. He was patient, non-judgmental, and the best in his field, which is exactly what you want when you find yourself in this type of situation. Fred was able to negotiate a minimal amount of time for my sentence; I received three months which could have been 15 years. Seven years after serving my sentence, Fred was able to have my record expunged. Life is good; I owe a great deal of my success and happiness after that dark period in my life to Fred.

I hired Mr. Ferbreche to handle my husbands criminal cases. I had spoken to a couple of other lawyers in my search for the right one for us and after the first consultation with Greg Ferbrache I knew he was the one. He was extremely knowledgeable in the law and after he had a couple of days with our case he knew the case well and started working to get us the very best outcome possible. In the end the case closed much better than we expected. You messed up but relief is nearby. You want an expert who will also listen to you, explain the situation and your options and put you in the best situation for a positive outcome. Martin is your guy. After you hire him when you are going through waves of freaking out you can come to Avvo and re-read the 100+ positive comments (I've read them all for comfort 8 times by now) and know you've done all you can to help your situation.
I put myself in a tough situation. I went out for a few drinks, nothing egregious but when I was leaving a parking lot I goosed it around a corner and squeeled my tires. I was pulled over and declined to talk the the officers about where I was that evening or participate in any sobriety tests. The prosecutors for DUI trials in Lake county are farmed out to a private firm and the state's firm sent their #1 top guy. Martin got us a Not Guilty on DUI and Reckless driving, and a modest fine and court supervision for squealing tires. Martin went head-to-head with the state's top dui prosecutor and left him noticeably pissed while we walked out with a huge W.
You'll be comforted by his understanding of Lake county courts and procedures. He will listen to you. We worked together to craft a defense and no point anything that I thought important was left unconsidered.
Even though my case hit a complication and dragged on a bit his flat rate fees were clear fair. Quite honestly they were about 75% of what I expected and was willing to pay for a proven winner.
He's super busy but will always make time for you. Most importantly, he's a genuinely good guy.
There's a reason for Martin's top rating. Do yourself a favor and pick the best. Get the free consult and make your own choice. It's hard to put a price in peace of mind. If you've read this, you've been informed. Unless you have another proven rockstar at your disposal to consider I strongly advise you to go with Martin.
