Scott is not only trustworthy but he also treated me with respect, kindness and patience throughout the entire process. As my attorney, I have found Jim Keil to be all of those things and more. Jim’s understanding to the approach to your legal case is derived by his wealth of experience and brilliant understanding of the law. All of these important factors in my case have been demonstrated especially during trial.
The best analogy of Jim Keil I can give as an attorney relates to college football. Jim is the Alabama Crimson Tide of family law. Jim Keil has been in this business a long time and knows his stuff. My divorce case was contentious and my wife had very aggressive lawyers. I am a successful professional and an easy target. Jim knows when where to push in negotiations and saved my financial future from vicious attacks! Jim also cares about his billing habits. Some firms are interested in billing as many hours as they can. Jim is careful and prudent with his billing. I would wager that my total attorney cost was half what some other firms would charge. I was referred to Jim through friends and am glad I took their advice. One friend said, "When it comes to divorce, you have to pay for the best and forget the rest!" I'm glad I listened.

I used Martinez Law firm to complete a modification to my divorce decree. As you can imagine anything that involves children is incredibly emotional. With prior firms every time I discussed my case with my lawyer it was like groundhogs day. I would have to bring them back up to speed. With Bonnie she never had to be told anything twice. Rachel helped me fix a messy custody (dis)agreement, made more complex by being a military family with both parties residing out of state. I sincerely wish I had utilized her during my actual divorce, and saved some of the headaches my previous counsel didn't consider.
She communicated clearly and consistently with me while I was overseas, and helped address areas I hadn't considered as potential conflicts. She put in long hours during mediation sessions with my Ex, assisting me with the best possible outcome without going to trial.

Mary Louise Phelps surpassed any expectations I had for my divorce attorney. Tom represented me in a contract dispute with a former employer. From the day he started working on my case, he guided me through the process and prepared me for each stage. As this was a very stressful situation for me, Tom's ongoing reassurance and support made it much easier.
He was extremely thorough in understanding the entire situation to determine the best strategy and the first thing he did was invalidate their claim that I violated my non-compete clause. After that, we tried mediation, but they were unwilling to move an inch. Ultimately, the case went to arbitration and the judge found in favor of me on every point...including fees and expenses.
Tom built a very good case by doing his research, making sure we had the right witnesses, discrediting the opposing witnesses and being more prepared than the other guy. I remember one of the first things Tom told me is he would never lose because the other guy worked harder or was more prepared. He proved that to me.
Tom demonstrated what a trusted advisor can be...he really did care about me and my family and worked hard to take care of us. I would gladly hire him again if the need arose.

He was extremely conscientious in pursuing every avenue and preparing for court. I am a Father and my daughter wanted to live with me and attend school closer to my home (I wanted to enroll her into private school) so that would mean I would need to become the primary parent of residence. I thought it would be impossible to get that changed because I also have a career as a firefighter so my work schedule rotates and its 24 hour shifts. I contacted Robyn and she was upfront and honest provided me with possible outcomes.
Robyn was outstanding! She had to do the work of two attorneys because the defendants’ attorney would not submit paperwork to the court in a timely manner and that would’ve slowed the process. The case went to trial and having the experienced attorney really showed! I am now the primary parent of residence my daughter and I couldn’t be happier. She always answered my calls, emails and was on time. Both parents were found to be fit by the judge yet a change of custody was still granted in my favor.

I was recently divorced using another attorney in the area. I was in a 16 year marriage attached to the military. I was allotted a percentage of the retirement per the Final Agreement. When I attempted to start that process with DFAS, I was quickly notified that my Order was written incorrectly and needed to be modified and signed by a Judge. I wasn’t sure what to do so I reached out to Mr. Dejesus’ office. He was quick to respond and was able to help me. He was very knowledgeable in regards to how the modification was to be written and made the changes. He and his staff stayed in communications with me while waiting for the other parties to comply. I was on a time restraint to get the corrections per DFAS and even though that time had expired, to no fault of ours, Mr. Dejesus was reassuring that everything was an easy fix and they would honor the modification. He was right. Through his persistent follow ups with the other parties, I got my modification and was able to submit it with no problems. I would definitely recommend Mr. Dejesus. He is attentive to his clients and knows his job. You just have to trust him.

Since relatively few co-op buildings that fall within HDFC guidelines, I definitely wanted a lawyer who understood the program and its special regulations. After the initial, larger firm that I retained failed to make any progress with my HDFC case over a year, I retained Jennings's firm. My first lawyer--who has been interviewed by local news outlets for his HDFC expertise and listed as an NYC co-op specialist--had jeopardized my case with his negligence (my retainer was refunded). As a result, I faced a pending, time-sensitive notice without legal representation. Furthermore, as my case was not straightforward and required investigation, I found many lawyers could not estimate my case's potential cost or length. Walter Jennings and his daughter Elizabeth (who is also an attorney with his firm) were amazing. Serving as an intermediary between various third parties, they made more progress in one month than my initial attorney had been in a year. Ultimately, and due to Jennings's hard work, a court ruled in my favor. With a full-time Office Manager, the firm has always been receptive to my inquiries whether by phone or email. Moreover, they proactively updated me on case activities in contrast to my previous experiences with lawyers who I had to track down. Walter and Elizabeth had this knowledge, and I highly recommend their services to any potential client.

I cannot more highly recommend Josh Bogaty and his firm for Long Island real estate transactions. I am myself a lawyer, but do not handle real estate transactions. I was looking for experienced real estate counsel to handle the simultaneous sale of and purchase of residential real estate, a stressful situation that's like trying to thread a needle, with a lot of potential pitfalls.
