Maya is an excellent family lawyer and absolutely worth hiring. Here are the criteria that were important when I was looking for a lawyer to help with my divorce:
1) Overall personality: a lawyer must be trustworthy and also easy to work with (there is a lot of back and forth). I interviewed Maya along with several other lawyers and after working with her for a year (which was not what either of us had hoped to spend on the divorce), I can only say good things about the above.
2) Price: her hourly rate is in line with most family lawyers. While there are some work-discount programs and also private practice laywers that may have a lower hourly rate, being at a firm has the benefit that for smaller tasks, Maya had the support of a paralegal who bills at a much lower rate.
3) Efficiency: This is wrapped up in price because if someone bills at half the hourly rate, but takes twice as long to do something, the amount of money spent is the same, but...the task took twice as long. This is tough to gauge beforehand, but I will tell you that Maya works fast and her work product is excellent (intelligent and insightful comments on documents, deep knowledge of the system and the law).
4) Results: This, also, is tough to determine beforehand. Here is what I will say: Maya is excellent in court and when push comes to shove, she will throw down the gauntlet and advocate in a respectful, but firm way. She was able to send specific, motivating emails to opposing counsel that got results at critical points in time.
Overall, Maya is an excellent choice she is reasonable and would tell me when what I was asking was not. Honestly, I have no points of criticism. You can do your due diligence in seeking a family lawyer, but if you want to simplify the process, hire her and never look back.

I appreciated Maya's compassion as much as her knowledge and skills. She knew a lot about the hard issues and was able to negotiate a great settlement for me, but also helped me see how our dissolution would impact our children. I highly recommend her and have already referred a friend to her. If you have to go through a divorce, you should have someone who treats you with respect and works hard for you.

We worked with Rob over a period of 2 years in an effort to resolve a messy and complicated business partnership dispute. We found Rob to be extremely knowledgable, responsive and honest. I am a lawyer in Pennsylvania and I just completed a Products Liability case in Pennsylvania involving the alleged failure of a defective bicycle part manufactured in another country. I had a jurisdictional problem whereby personal jurisdiction over the foreign manufacturer was at issue in Pennsylvania. Because the Statute of Limitations, (or time within which suit had to be filed) was expiring, I needed to file a protective action in Federal Court in Washington State at the last minute since the foreign defendant clearly did business in Washington State. Through the trial lawyer list serve on the internet I contacted Phil Arnold who practices Seattle and throughout Washington State. Phil immediately responded to me and immediately took time out of his busy schedule to act as local counsel and get the suit filed in Fed Ct and then convince the Court to have the the case stayed in Fed Ct in Washington while my case proceeded in Pennsylvania. Because of Phil Arnold's responsiveness and legal skills, in filing this protective action in Washington at the last minute, I was able to obtain a favorable resolution of my case in Pa. Phil did not have to help me, but he never hesitated a bit. That is why I am proud to be a trial lawyer and member of the American Association of Justice in which Phil is also a member. I came to contact Mr. Jackson after I had previously paid a local firm who basically bailed on me in fear of the government that I was up against, after I paid their retainer. Then, having no resolution, and nothing more than wasted time (a couple of years), and I myself doing more work than the firm, I reached out to business associates who put me in touch with the firm of Mark Jackson. My case was one that many attorneys would turn from because it was a small, woman owned business against the federal government, but not once did Mr. Jackson suggest that I back down, or that we didn't have a chance. He pursued, researched, and stayed the course, and I can honestly say that through it all, Mark Jackson had my best interest at heart, and he believed in what I was fighting for. In the end, in regards to my case, Mr. Jackson was able to negotiate a fair settlement, without my having to go to trial, and the settlement that was agreed upon was more than I could have proven had we gone to trial. My only regret with Mark Jackson is that he is not local to handle all of my business as well as personal legal matters. As a business owner of a 40 plus year old business, I would recommend Mark to anyone in need of legal assistance. I highly recommend Mark Jackson to anyone seeking the finest legal counsel for federal construction contracts. I had the good fortune of meeting Mark Jackson through another government contractor in 2002, and Mark has represented my construction company since then. Mark was successful in dealing with the SBA and the Air Force for the award of a significant 8(a) Joint Venture contract which we may have otherwise lost. Mark successfully represented us in a bid protest in which we were the successful awardee on a large government contract. Mark successfully and quickly resolved a federal complaint, which was dropped without the need for a hearing. I was represented in a very drawn out, unique, and frustrating parenting plan that was started in 2019 and wasn't finalized until the end of 2021. I interviewed three other attorneys before selecting Brad Crosta for representation. My reason for choosing Brad was his very straightforward, no nonsense approach. Steve Connor recently defended my business partner and me against a breech of fiduciary duty suit that dragged on for two-plus years. I hired Stephen Connor to represent me in a disability lawsuit against a Labor Union and an employer. The first thing that impressed me about Steve was before he agreed to represent me he asked me what my expectations were and told me what to expect through this process.
1. That the process would probably take up to two years.
2. That I most likely would not become rich and be able to retire if we won my case.
3. That if we won I would probably receive some lost wages and benefits and get my job back.
That was more than I was expecting so if it worked out that way it would be a bonus.
From the beginning Steve and his partner Anne-Marie saved my case when I ignored his advice and made some decisions on my own without consulting him. Steve was able to guide my case through the EEOC process and file the request for a lawsuit. Steve was very good at explaining what was going to happen and how long it would be for a response from the defendants. throughout this process Steve, his legal team and I spent more and more time communicating. When Steve was unavailable in court or on another case I was able to contact his partner or associates and he would get back to me right away.
I had learned the hard way at the beginning of this process to listen to Steve's advice and trust his experience and it paid off very well in the end. A few times when I felt like giving up after multiple delays Steve would tell me to be patient and stick to our plan. That we were doing well, that the defendants were counting on wearing me down and trying to frustrate me and convince me to give up.
Steve was a tough negotiator and very thorough and effective through disclosures and depositions. He advised me several times that we were not ready to compromise yet, that we had more work to do and we were still making progress. At this point we had a few tense showdowns with the defendants and in the end the agreed to settle my case.
There is one more example I want to share of Stephen Connors professionalism and integrity. The fee agreement between Steve and myself had some specific language which because of the way it was written enabled me to avoid paying several thousands of dollars worth of fees on a technicality. I had no idea this was the case until Steve pointed it out to me. I told Steve that I appreciated his honesty and that I would be happy to pay the extra fee. Without his help I would have ended up with nothing.
Professionalism, integrity, expertise, experience and tenacity from Steven Connor, Anne-Marie Sargent and their associates are what enabled me to settle my lawsuit in a very satisfactory manner and to return to my job after more than three years. Without the help of Steven Connor and the firm of Connor and Sargent I would have ended up with nothing and my future and that of my family would have been changed forever.

I was introduced to Matt when I became very dissatisfied with the work a firm was doing for our firm. As I stated in the Title of this review...Mari Cava, "An Excellent Attorney" doesnt do him Justice- He Rocks! The Best Defense Attorney I have ever Met!, If Only there were more attorneys who took as much time with his clients, and I know it wasnt just me, he had a very full plate , and had many clients as it seems the system is overwhelmed with people who need a Public Defenser . And I am sure there are those who use the cities tax dollars of hard working people of King County to pay for some people who are so ungreatful, If they actually had to pay for a law firm attorney and be billed $500/hr. Some abuse the system and try to get away with it because they are being supported by the tax payers dollars.Anyways Mario is extremely honest and genuine and down to earth and I think who every is lucky enough to have him as their attorney should feel very greatful as they are in the best legal hands you will find,, I highly recommend Mario, He makes sure all his clients get a fair shake.

While driving southbound on I-5 in Tacoma an underinsured motorist sideswiped a dump-truck causing it to spin around and go north in the southbound lanes and hitting us head-on. We were crushed between the spinning dump truck, the car that caused the accident and the car that rear-ended us. We hired Schroeter Goldmark & Bender to represent us.
The insurance carrier for the underinsured motorist paid us the limits under their policy. Our own insurance company basically made an offer of zero to cover life-altering and permanent injuries.
Our team at SGB of Adam Berger, Sergio Garcidueñas-Sease, Lindsay Halm and Alder Burgess took over for us. One of the most important things they did was to shield us from the stone-walling, delaying tactics of our own insurance company to whom we had paid premiums for more than 30 years. From the beginning they handled the case as if it would end up in litigation. You need attorneys like SGB that have your back and are not afraid to go to court if that is what it takes.
They had the added challenge of doing this during Covid. Thank goodness for Zoom conferences. We ultimately got a court date. Two months prior to our court date, we went to mediation, via Zoom. We didn't hold out much hope for mediation, but we were willing to make an attempt. What a surprise when the insurance company came to mediation finally willing to negotiate. After a full day of the mediator going back and forth between Zoom rooms, we came to a fair monetary settlement. We are convinced that the insurance company, even then, was only willing to negotiate because, Adam and the rest of his team were well prepared bulldogs willing to go to court if mediation failed. As they like to say, "This was not their first rodeo".
A car accident is horrible. You need the best attorneys you can find to protect your interests. Besides being professional and knowing the case inside and out, Adam and the rest of his team are compassionate and truly care about their clients. We strongly recommend them to anyone who needs their service. Without Adam and SGB our insurance company would have paid us nothing.

I was granted an O1 visa to work in the USA and I wanted to apply for a green card through the EB-1 process. Many lawyers turned me down for the fear of losing the case except for Tess.

I would recommend Rob to anyone. My family had a tricky real estate issue involving a commercial rental property. The people we rented it to stopped paying rent and were basically abusing the property. We discussed our options with Rob regarding how to get them out of the property (without spending an arm and a leg) and he came up with a strategy to entice them to vacate the premises without having to go to court. He not only saved us the headache of having to tangle with the tenants in court, but the cost involved in an eviction as well. One more thing: he was very responsive to our emails and phone calls. That may not seem like much to the average person, but it means a ton to me and my family. Going through this type of an experience is awful (we aren't professional landlords) so it helps to have someone on our side who's an ally and who'll actually return phone calls/email in a timely manner.
Hopefully we never have to deal with a situation like this in the future. However, if we do, we know exactly who to call for help.

I found and contacted Robert Wayne through Avvo regarding an online dispute we were experiencing with an attorney out of state. I have had Jesse as my attorney for years now...not by his choice, more like a lack of options for him by my many self inflicted situations of needing him repeatedly to represent me. I made this man's job more difficult than it needed to be, more times than he needed or should have had to represent me, but you know what...he never once gave up on me, never gave me false hope, never sugar coated the possible outcomes, never doubted me and never once walked in the courtroom to defend me like I was anything less than his kin! I could be (and was) 100% in the wrong and guilty (so many times) and he fought for me and defended me to the very end! When I gave him nothing to work with for a defense, he still gave it his FULL effort and complete attention when I had his back against the wall. I can't tell you how supported I felt the many times he would tell me "you don't deserve to be in there..." (prison on minor violations). It was easy to get him on the phone and get responses from him... I've heard horror stories of other inmates not being able to reach their attorneys for weeks and months...Jesse and his assistants were efficient and quick to respond and resolve any questions I had, anytime of the business day. I would constantly boast (brag really) about how much I loved my attorney when I heard others complaining of the 'public defenders'. You can tell the 'public' part of his title does NOT limit measure or regulate the amount of compassion, energy and care Jesse puts into his clients and work. He has a passion for helping people, no matter their economic status, tax bracket or lack of responsibility (my worst trait). I don't know where I'd be if I had a different attorney...probably still in prison. Jesse is amazing and I will never forget all he has done for me...and the positive, patient and caring attitude he maintained the entire time...4 years...thats patience!!! I just had my paper cut last week and Im afraid to try and find my footing knowing he isn't legally obligated to be attached to me anymore. I worked with another partner at the Lasher firm who introduced me to Mario Bianchi, who ended up representing my family on a very complex transaction. A few years ago, my father passed away. At this time, I decided to make some drastic changes in my life. I decided to be more thoughtful in the ways I treat others and try to lead by example. It’s ironic that while I have made a 180-degree turnaround in my life, I also encountered the greatest betrayal of my life, both personally and professionally. This was unchartered territory for me; in the past, I was often the one doing the perpetrating and not the one being taken advantage of. To make matters worse, I was conned by my brother. I was, therefore, susceptible to one low blow after another. I was dejected and hopeless until coming to the realization that a previous experience in life could help me through these trying times. Indeed, it did.
A few years ago, I saw Mario in action when he represented as co-counsel one of my business partners. I was impressed with his work, especially his attention to detail. Looking at ways to invest my IRA outside of stocks and bonds, I started looking around on the real pros and cons of self directed IRAs. The custodians seem a little too casual and unconcerned about the risks if a mistake is made. Having a father who lost his home to the IRS, and having recently had my business audited I am concerned about the long-term risks of this path.
Luckily after searching around I found Warren's articles about the topic, and learned a bit more.
Warren's articles were the only material I could find that had a pragmatic view and explained some concerns along with the benefits of SDIRAs.
I happen to live in the same city as Warren, and met with him for his crash course intro to self directed IRAs.
I can say he seems like a straight forward, experienced, honest attorney with deep knowledge in this area, and if I move forward with a self directed IRA I will definitely seek his help as I proceed.
