I previously had another law firm handle my roof claim after the insurance company refused to pay and then folded. The company couldn’t resolve the issue which went to FIGA. So a friend referred Merlin group to handle the issue. They were very professional and kept me updated even though, at times, there was no progress to discuss. Through their persistence and constant contact with FIGA, the issue finally got resolved AFTER almost 2 years!! Hopefully this won’t happen again, but if it does, I’ll reach back out to them.

Mr. Anthony Chris Ekonomides is one of those lawyers who takes money and promises solid legal support but does not check the facts or scrutinize the details. I needed to send a legal letter to my ex-spouse who was not fully cooperating with a Court Order. Mr. Anthony Chris Ekonomides did not study the details of the case and ruined it completely. I lost my case because of his ignorance. I would never use him again or recommend him to anybody. Denise

Mr. Ekonomides is extremely professional and listens to your story without judgement. He always has your best interest at heart and is straight and to the point. He treats you with the utmost respect and sincerity. He makes you feel like you're his only case even though he has several. As his client, I put my total trust in his hands knowing he will give it his 100%. He is reasonably priced. I highly recommend Anthony Ekonomides in any case. I can not thank him enough for getting me through this difficult point in my life. Very Respectfully, Michelle

Mr. Anthony C. Ekonomides is very dishonest lawyer. In my post-divorce case he has promised me a lot, and achieve almost nothing. He is approaching very aggressive, however there is no any results in Court of his tactics. He just drain money with no practical success. Even my ex-husband who is technical person, easily destroyed our case during Court hearing. I do not recommend Mr. Anthony C. Ekonomides for any kind of defense or family case.

Sasha is fast-paced, and very quickly understands complicated things. I was looking for an exception to money transmitter statutes in Florida. She wrote a four-page document outlining the proposed business and why it should be exempt from Florida Statutes. Because of her experience in this field, she has experience dealing with the relevant office in Florida. She recommended this course of action which, although we haven't got the outcome yet, can potentially save me a significant amount of time and money. Aside from giving good advice and being effective at what she does, many times she replied to emails within minutes even as late as 10:30 p.m. She is a good attorney and I would recommend her to anyone looking for advice in this field.

These are my brother’s words I hired Eulo&Smith in April 2024 to cover my 2023 & 2024 Polk Case as well as my 2024 VOP in Hillsbough. I met Marie taylor who charged me $3000 for my VOP and 2024 Cass. I also Paid her $10,000 plus 1.5x totaling to $15,000 for my 2023 Polk case. She came to meet me and told me things that she was not able to do. She promised alot that did not come. She ignored me and my family for weeks. She missed both of my court dates as well as missed promises to come see me. I was told in July 2024 that she quit the law firm. I was then appointed Ms. Shannon Bailey which works for Eulo&Smith who constantly ignored my family again as well as her client, me, in jail. She made promsies to come see me and never came. In the past 6 months, I've only seen attoneys who were fill ins from the law firm on my last 4 manditory doctetings. The judge was livid as it does not take 6 months to articulate a deal that was supposed to be settled. Eulo&Smith took on too many cases according to Ms. Bailey and they're not able to keep up. I'm being foreced into taking a deal or going to trial in 3 weeks becasue this law firm has not reached out to me but only once about my case details and to make matters worse, the lawyer to heard them quit, Ms. Taylor. I have had chance court date after court date for someone to come out here and see me as i write this from a Kiosk. I have no way to contact my attorney except for my family as they're being ignored. I told a fill in from my court date that i paid 1.5x for better and priorty service and the employee, which I'm assuming is from the Orlando office, that there is no such thing as 1.5x or priorty service. I was told from Bailey that taylor took on too many clients and quit which I'm assuming she did to get paid and left.

Adham A.Yennes is an outstanding lawyer! This being my first charge and not knowing anything about how to handle situations as these, Chris was EXTREMELY helpful and very knowledgeable on the legal process and side of things. He always made sure to answer any and all of my questions in specific detail and made sure I understood the process. He returned my calls, emails, texts within less than 24 hours, and even took my many phone calls and questions after office hours and during inconvenient times. Would HIGHLY recommend Adham A. Yennes !

This attorney is well versed in procedure only. He repeatedly showed his lack of knowledge of marital law in Florida. His last big mistake has cost me more than $150,000 in efforts to reverse the decision. He has a very offensive style that is a major distraction and is the source of great stress for clients who are already facing difficult situations. He has a knack for saying the wrong thing to clients and then acting with great decorum in court. He is also obsessed with money. I would pay his bill the day I received it and he would be on the phone the next day complaining he had not received payment. He is really a property attorney who has no business practicing family law. He has no sense of strategy and does not even discuss how to win a case. In my case, he started negotiations with some false assumptions about my inevitable liabilities in the case. He gave the ball to the opposition on our ten-yard line.

My custody case went on for 2 years. In the last year, she never responded to my emails, but when she finally responded, it was to tell me she was no longer with the law firm. She quit while my case was still open. Left my case for someone else in the firm and he wanted to withdraw from my case and did so. So now I'm stuck waiting for a final trial. Wasted money and my goals of getting my child were not reached.

She came back to me and said that atty Greenlee was to busy and to take whatever matter I had to another attorney. I have never written a negative review about anyone or anything. I usually go out of my way to speak to supervisors praising their employers when I've had a nice experience or just ignoring it when I haven't. However, my brief experience with this law firm was so dysfunctional and disappointing that I had to say something. The woman I was dealing with was cold and unhelpful. She also lacked the patience and skill to explain anything in a useful manner. When I asked a question, there would be a long pause and she would just repeat what she had said. No warmth, no personal interest, certainly not gracious. I was calm, polite and patient but I knew I was aggravating her by asking questions. The icing on the cake was when my husband called the office and Mr. Miller told him that because of my conversion with his associate, he didn't think our case was a good fit for them. I just want a basic understanding of the proceedings and what they were going to do for us that would cost between $5000 and $7000. If I am asked to spend that much money, I think I deserve a respectful, clear explanation.

On July 19, 2022, after a recommendation by an esteemed attorney friend, I, as POA, contacted Randall O. Reder via email to represent a docketed motion with associated filings in place already. A hearing needed to be set for an impending August 24. 2022 sale of our paid in full inherited property after a fraudulent foreclosure done with manufactured documents, without joining my 100% DAV son. The summary story was provided via email with attached statements by the Clerk of the Court, Orange County that my son and co-owner had not been joined in the case (after a previous one had been dismissed for lack of standing/no allonge or ratifying documents). Not only had there been no Service of Process while he was serving his country, there was no summons issued to effect a Service of Process. A wealth of other exhibits were available and the Unjoined Co-owners Motion to Quash False Claim of Service as well as an Affidavit reviewed and notarized by a prominent local attorney (the case was reviewed by 3 other attorneys who were interested but not affordable) and a Trial Transcript that my finances did not provide for the Trial Transcript that was now docketed with everything needed for an easy win. This was a slam dunk case for any competent attorney. By July 20, attoney Reder accepted the case and the retainer, 3 times his ask was soon banked to insure expeditious action... but NOTHING HAPPENED. The sale date came and went with no hearing even attempted, no Motion to Cancel of Continue, no effort to get the disbursed funds. I demanded to know what he would do after being the proximate cause of loosing our property. He filed a Verified Motion to Vacate Sale, sans verification, sans the Exhibits and Affidavits he was remined 3 times to add (provided!!!) but nothing. The hearing came with no appearance by Reder. Opposing council called and an oblivious out of it Reder answered and had forgotten the hearing. Unprepared, he abandoned his motion to my utter shock and dismay. It wasn’t until AFTER this debacle that Reder filed his Notice of Appearance, twice… for me, not his client!! Finally he filed one for my son. Time had tolled and it was time to Notice for Appeal, but he did not (as contracted). In the FINAL HOUR my son got a Notice of Appeal in place followed by a Motion to Withdraw by Reder. Immediately prior to his withdrawl hearing he filed a Verified Statement (Affidavit) with 19 statements, 13 which were utter fiction… why we have no idea. These material facts were matters of docketed evidence which we will easily prove false when we move for negligent malpractice, fraudulent concealment, perjury and a series of ethics violations. I don’t know what’s up with this Florida address because his business has a GEORGIA ADDRESS. BEWARE!!!

I hired SCOTT CLAY and paid him a retainer to represent me in a lawsuit that was filed against me. He promptly cashed my check & never kept me notified with hearings on my case like all professional law offices do. He runs a "one man" show and works out of a rented desk in downtown Tampa. I was referred to him by another lawyer who must have felt sorry for him. Mr. Clay never sent me any paperwork about what was going on with my case...I had to keep track of it myself online. He was always having sick kids & family emergencies. I hired a real law firm who got my case settled promptly and professionally. I have worked with numerous attorneys over my lifetime and this is the first one that spoke down to me and I had no clue what he was doing. He was very sneaky and would send emails that would make himself look innocent and pure and then he would follow up with a phone call and say the exact opposite of the email trying to comfort me and make me feel at ease. I felt talked down and disrespected. There were numerous times he set up conference calls which he would not follow through with and other times that he would drop the call and say his cell phone died and would call me back as soon as it’s charged up and yet he never did. Stunned that an attorney never heard of a phone cable to plug into the wall. Caught him numerous times lying to me. I would avoid this atterney and his firm at all costs!! Terrible atterney!

What a Business Lawyer Can Do for You

A business lawyer provides critical legal guidance and support to entrepreneurs, startups, and established businesses. Whether you are forming a new company, drafting contracts, or navigating complex regulations, a business attorney ensures you are legally protected and operating within the law. They can also help prevent legal disputes or represent you in negotiations, transactions, or lawsuits that arise during the course of business operations.

Business lawyers have expertise in areas such as business formation, contract law, intellectual property, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. They ensure that your business is compliant with relevant laws and help mitigate risks that could threaten your company's success.

When Should I Hire a Business Lawyer?

Hiring a business lawyer is essential at various stages of business development, including:

  • Forming a business: When deciding on the best structure for your company (LLC, corporation, partnership, etc.), a lawyer can guide you through the registration and compliance process.
  • Drafting contracts: If you need contracts for employees, partners, suppliers, or clients, a lawyer ensures these documents are legally sound and in your best interest.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, or dissolutions: If you are buying, selling, or dissolving a company, legal counsel is critical to avoid costly mistakes.
  • Compliance and regulatory issues: A lawyer can help navigate complex regulations, particularly in industries like healthcare, finance, or tech.
  • Resolving disputes: Whether it's contract disagreements, intellectual property infringement, or employment issues, a business lawyer helps mediate, negotiate, or litigate on your behalf.

What Does a Business Lawyer Do?

Business lawyers provide a wide range of services that cater to different legal needs of a business. They can:

  • Help you choose the best legal structure for your business.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with employees, suppliers, customers, or business partners.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Advise on tax strategies to minimize your business's tax burden.
  • Assist with intellectual property protection, such as trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Handle mergers, acquisitions, and business sales, ensuring all legal paperwork is in order.
  • Resolve disputes through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation.

How Are Business Lawyers Paid?

Business lawyers typically charge either by the hour or on a flat-fee basis, depending on the complexity of the work. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rates: The lawyer charges based on the time spent working on your case. Rates vary depending on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fees: For certain tasks, such as incorporating a business or drafting a standard contract, a lawyer may offer a flat fee.
  • Retainer: Some businesses may hire a lawyer on retainer, paying a fixed amount each month to have ongoing access to legal services.

The payment structure is often discussed during an initial consultation so you can choose the one that best suits your business needs and budget.

How Much Does a Business Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a business lawyer depends on factors such as:

  • The complexity of the legal issue: More complex matters, like mergers or intellectual property disputes, typically cost more than routine tasks like contract drafting.
  • The lawyer's experience and location: More experienced lawyers or those in larger cities often charge higher fees.
  • The nature of the billing arrangement: Hourly rates can range from $150 to $1,000 or more, depending on the lawyer's expertise. Flat fees are usually available for simpler matters like forming an LLC or drafting a standard contract.

It's essential to discuss fee structures upfront to avoid surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Business Lawyer

Before hiring a business lawyer, ask the following questions during your consultation:

  1. What is your experience with businesses like mine?
Find out if the lawyer has handled legal issues for companies in your industry.
  2. What services do you offer?
Ensure the lawyer can meet all your business's legal needs, from contract drafting to dispute resolution.
  3. What are your fees, and how do you bill?
Get clarity on how you'll be charged - whether by the hour, flat fee, or retainer.
  4. How do you handle conflicts of interest?
Ask how the lawyer ensures there is no conflict in representing your business.
  5. Can you provide references from other business clients?
Speaking with past clients will give you an idea of the lawyer's expertise and professionalism.
  6. Do you have experience in my specific industry?
Industry-specific knowledge can be crucial, especially in highly regulated fields like healthcare or finance.

How to Check the Credibility of a Business Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable business lawyer:

  • Check state bar association records: Verify that the lawyer is in good standing and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for client reviews or testimonials: Online reviews, testimonials, or word of mouth from other business owners can provide insight into the lawyer's reliability and effectiveness.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should have satisfied clients who can vouch for their services.
  • Check professional memberships: Membership in respected legal organizations (such as the American Bar Association or a local business lawyer association) can signal credibility.
  • Review their website and professional profile: A well-established lawyer typically has a professional website showcasing their areas of expertise, credentials, and case success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with a business lawyer, prepare the following:

  • A description of your business and its structure: This will help the lawyer understand your legal needs.
  • Any current contracts or agreements: If you're seeking contract advice, bring copies of existing contracts.
  • A list of legal issues or concerns: Be ready to discuss any potential legal challenges, such as regulatory compliance, disputes, or transactions.
  • Financial documents: If applicable, bring financial records related to the legal matter you're seeking help with.
  • Questions about fees and billing: Ensure you understand the lawyer’s payment structure and fees upfront.

By preparing these materials, you can ensure that your first meeting with a business lawyer is productive and informative.
