As a caregiver for many years of a family member who had Parkinson's disease, our Licensed Clinical Social Worker at our hospital Neurology Department presented me with three names of eldercare law firms as my family member's health was declining.
I interviewed all three firms, then selected Lamson & Cutner to proceed with our eldercare requirements for help in navigating the ever changing legal requirements as to long term nursing home care when on USA Government health care insurances.
I am so happy to have found this law firm for help , my family members agree ,that it was the wisest decision for me to make.
No one can do this complicated legal work alone and it is best ,if possible to proceed with legal issues when the ill person can still understand and contibute their own desires as to what their assets distribution ,usually but not exclusivly into an Irrevocable trust, as well as critical end of life decisions to their family which should be then ultimately drawn up in legal documents by an Attorney .
As the LSCW stated to me when I hesitated thinking "I had so much time to get to this issue" ...'Don't put it off"!

Watching so many of William Mattar’s funny commercials, I never thought I’d be needing the assistance of his office. My son made the call for me as I lay in the trauma unit at Rochester’s Strong Memorial Hospital after a car crash close to my home on Christmas morning 2023. The folks at the Law office were kind, considerate, efficient, and checked in on me frequently. The case had a very good resolution and I’m very pleased with the results. I had a difficult time communicating with Tracey. Specifically, I asked her to "clarify" why the final bill was more than "twice" the estimate she gave. Her response was "I will put down my pen" if you do not pay. No clarification. In fact her response is against the code of ethics for the New York Bar which advocates resolving disputes "amicably". Tracey was not resolving disputes "amicably" in this instance. In fact, she is often less than "amicable", and unprofessional, if she feels challenged.
As well, her office "makes mistakes". For example, I have the same documents notarized "twice" because they "expired". The reason they "expired" is because we were missing a Certificate of Death. I expect Tracey to be on top of required documentation and not come up "short" the last minute.
Bottom line, the transaction took six months because of Tracey's lack of attention to details (such as the missing Certificate of Death). To rub salt on the wound, she charged more than twice the estimate because it took "so long" to close.
Do not recommend.
