I can't say enough good things about Attorney Rob Schelling and his team. I found him online when I was dealing with a legal matter and was looking to change attorneys. I called and spoke with his assistant, Connie, and then followed up via email thereafter.
At Connie's request, I sent her some information about the case, which Mr. Schelling read and quickly got back to me. While he was not able to take on the case himself, he recommended a couple of specific attorneys in the area whose strengths matched up well with my needs.
His suggestion was spot on, and his insight was key to eventually reaching a successful outcome. Many of the reviews I read about Mr. Schelling spoke about how well known he is within the Riverside legal community. As a mediator and long-time practicing attorney, he clearly knows who the skilled attorneys are in the area as well.
Furthermore, I can't praise Connie enough. She's highly professional, well-organized, and always prompt with communication. I got a DUI and was referred to David Chesley by a colleague who also had a previous case. I must say I am satisfied by the results and it was cheaper than other law offices. Definitely a learning experience. I will be shopping around next time and making sure that I use my own health insurance so that I actually get all/most of my settlement and not 20% of it over a year later after calling periodically to remind them that I'm a client.😒 Their motto should be "Something's better than nothing".
Update in response to comment:
You are absolutely correct that sometimes there are unrealistic expectations, especially considering the fact that this was the first time I had gone through an accident. However, that does not excuse the lack of communication and the fact that had I not called periodically over the year there would not have been any movement on my case. Not to mention the fact that had I not called to follow up, I would not have received my check because according to your agent, one of your staff dropped my check underneath their seat and wasn't aware of it. So it never got mailed until I called and inquired where my money was. Like I said, it was a learning experience and hopefully you take into account what I've said when dealing with future clients.

Sadly I must review my experience with this law firm. There appears to be MANY negative reviews with similar complaints regarding this firm, too many actually and date back over a decade. Check for yourself on Google, Yelp, BBB, Pissed Consumer and other sites. Hindsight, I should of used the clinic at the courthouse that offers assistance with legal matters. This has been the most devastating burden in our life and based on our experience and opinion it appears to point in the direction of recurring issues that resonates with other posted negative reviews.
I can offer some constructive consumer feedback to help protect the public before hiring an attorney. (FYI: The information below is available for public consumption)
*Check the State Bar Website. DONOT hesitate to use it to follow up with a bad experience.. It's the insurance to protect the public and defer misconduct and unethical behaviors. Its success hinges on the public's help.
*The State Bar Client Security Fund may be of assistance due to an attorneys dishonesty.
*Check the attorneys business information on the Secretary Of State website. This is a Tall Tale if you understand their procedures and codes.
*Attorney cases can be reviewed at the court house.
*Review your billing within 5 days and if you see any issues (such as: is the retainer fee depleted without any completed work) inquire in writing immediately! The billing practice should not be "creative and collaborative " immediately start to make notes on the bills and DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. Save all correspondence, invoices and statements. If threatened with severing of representation over billing questions: STOP DROP AND ROLL...
*READ the contract, it may seem ok on the face.... is it UNBALANCED to the unsuspecting?
*Maintain a call log.
*Note "complimentary services" then bill you ( court reminders which by the way are generated by the court for free).
*Free consultation, then bill you. Give your head a shake.
*DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
*It's important for every consumer to help protect the public with hopes that law firms have significant insight to their oath and professional responsibility. If you suspect foul play due to indiscretions meet and confer with the District Attorneys Office.
One more thing: "we treat you like family" it's a cliche. ("A cliché is an expression, idea, or action that has been overused to the point of seeming worn out, stale, ineffective, or meaningless" )

I’d contacted William’s office this past Sunday, fully understanding that perhaps I may not get a callback until the next business day. My goodness, I was so shocked and thrilled to get a callback from William within just a couple of hours! Our friends were at the airport ready to fly home when they were taken away by TSA agents and we couldn’t understand why. William took down pertinent information and immediately got to work. I could tell he was working tirelessly to get answers because his communication skills were beyond amazing. I didn’t have to worry about not hearing from him at all. Happy to say that my friends are back home without any issues. I’m truly grateful for William’s hard work and dedication for my situation. He’s now saved as my favorite in my phone. Finding Joni was a God send! Literally!! I heard her commercial on the radio and wrote her phone number down. A year later, when I decided I needed a lawyer, I couldn’t find her number so I prayed about it. The next day I got in my car driving home from work and her commercial came on the radio! I pulled over in my car and immediately called her and was able to speak with her. I made my appointment and met this wonderful, intelligent, compassionate woman who understood what I was going through, and what I needed to do. Joni not only helped me through the most desperate time in my life, but also became my friend. She was always there for me answering any of my questions, sometimes in the wee hours of the morning. I would describe Joni as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She looks so sweet but she is fierce and gets the job done!! She knows how to handle opposing lawyers, her knowledge of judges and the court system is remarkable. I hired Mr. Bratton after being referred by my sister. She was very pleased with his services so I decided to set up a consultation with him. Bill was upfront with me from the very begging. I appreciated his honesty, understanding and his attentiveness to my concerns. He was very thorough in documenting every conversation and was quick to advise me on how to handle my ex. Being a father of three young daughters, I expected to fight an uphill battle with custody. Bill fought for me and got me what I deserved...50% custody!! He was there through my entire divorce process which included division of all assets, child custody, pension and retirements. Through the 2 1/2 year process, he made sure I was prepared for all court hearings and mediation, he returned all phone calls and emails in a timely manner and he made me feel that he sincerely cared about my case. I am a 47 old divorced dad with a 6-year-old lovely daughter. My ex-wife filed for a divorce about a year and a half ago claiming for full legal and physical custody over our daughter. We had been married for 17 years owning real estate and had my own business.
I was just like anybody else panicked and I asked my friend to help to find the best attorney to representing me. I was told to call Bratton Razo Lord family law firm. Now my case is over and I could not be happier with the result.
I unfortunately had to deal with the spouse who thought that because she is the mom so she can do and say anything. Besides that she accused me with almost anything just to win the case.
Mr. Razo was a big relief since start.I felt so confident with him. He was always calm and focused. He always explained the situation and always had a plan to take care of the incoming attacks. Mr. Razo is young, but with the skill and logic like not too many attorneys have these days. My case had involved with the 730 evaluation.
Court hearing after hearing Mr. Razo always been a step ahead of my ex’s attorney. Unfortunately negotiating our agreement with my ex wife was out of question since the start.

When I was referred to Mr. Razo by a coworker, I was told he was fair, ethical, and thorough. I immediately found that to be true. Mr. Razo was honest with me the entire time. He always gave me expectations, but he also advised me of the reality and possible outcomes. Mr. Razo did not promise me anything but his full effort to help gain joint custody of my children. I had been divorced for 5 years and had partial custody of my two kids with my ex having primary custody. My Ex-wife moved our children over an hour away from me causing turmoil and hardship for the children. Over the years of fighting for more custody, I was bullied and pushed to back down by my ex’s lawyer. My job and schedule were constantly used against me since I worked 12 hours shifts. Mr. Razo assured me that fathers are equal and we can have equal time and custody of our children. Mr. Razo assisted me in having my ex move back to a central location where we can live in the same town, and I was awarded joint Legal and Physical Custody with the equal time share that I requested with no restrictions due to my work schedule. I could not be happier with Mr. Razo's work. He truly made it his goal to help me win the case, but did so in an ethical way that allowed my ex and I to maintain a good relationship. Finding Joni was a God send! Literally!! I heard her commercial on the radio and wrote her phone number down. A year later, when I decided I needed a lawyer, I couldn’t find her number so I prayed about it. The next day I got in my car driving home from work and her commercial came on the radio! From the initial interview with lacilento it seemed a little shady. First he said how much did I quote you? He hadn’t quoted me so I yet airballed 2k? He charged me 5500. Before he was involved I had some contact with my little girl. 6k later I have zero contact with my daughter , I was shocked when he asked for more money. I was shocked he charged 2k for 30 min we were in court . I was shocked when he charged me 450 for a 4 minute phone call . EDIT AFTER OWNER PATHETIC RESPONSE: I am reviewing the right person. This is Madan that had his license suspended in 2005. He failed to submit immigration paperwork for a client and the client got deported. Another client didn’t get his immigration paperwork approved and Madan failed to update his client on his immigrant status. Madan was defending someone that wanted to pay less child support, Madan submitted paperwork asking for a 14y/o take take care of 2 young children 50hrs/week while also attending HS all so his client will pay less, his client ended up paying MORE than when he went in lol. There are MANY cases of malpractice by this guy and I refuse to let him gaslight or bully me into believing this isn’t the same guy. Just recently a former client of his found a new legal team because Madan is INCOMPETENT and SHADY.
PLEASE DO RESEARCH ON THIS GUY. He lost his license for a year for malpractice AND he had a DV (Domestic Violence) case against him! He’s definitely also a traditional guy. So if you or your loved ones identify as LGBTQ+, please RUN FAR AWAY FROM HIM. There is an evil aura to him and you can just see the $$ signs on his eyes. This guy definitely protects/is on the side of defendants. If you know you’re a good person with no ill intentions, please find yourself someone else. This guys SHOULD NOT HAVE A LICENSE TO PRACTICE.
