I was in a pretty sticky situation with my children's other parent and Ms. Passenant and her firm were amazing the whole way through. Given the circumstances leading up to hiring them, we got the best outcome we could've hoped for and they set me up for amazing success with my children and my hopes for maintain custody. They also were great with communication and advising against listening to my own biases. I am eternally grateful, and indebted, to Ms. Passenant and her firm for all the long hours and hard work they did to help me find success in what felt like a hopeless situation.

Nope. Bait and switch. Not knowledgeable about the law or tax situations. Made offers to the other attorney that I had already explained were unacceptable. Made additions to the custody agreement re: therapy that were not in line with therapists recommendations. So, no therapy available for my children.

I started an appeal with Attorney Jurney for custody. She didn't do anything on my case for over a year. Afterward, I decided to drop the appeal since the other party filed a motion and moved my case to another county, which was approved by the judge. Attorney Alicia has promised a refund, and almost 2 years later, nothing. They do not answer their calls or return emails when supposed to. I have had mercy and have waited months before writing this review, in fact I wrote a review about 4 months ago, and they reached out to me and told me they were going to get my refund just so I can take the review down, but never heard anything back after multiple emails.

Ms. Jurney is representing me in a child custody and support case. Throughout the prep work to the temporary hearing, I was thoroughly impressed by the amount of information we were able to exchange at each meeting, how quickly Ms. Jurney comprehended complicated expenses and child support calculations, and how well Ms. Jurney prepared herself was for the hearing. Going into the hearing, I already knew that not only was Ms. Jurney a highly effective lawyer, she had also well familiarized herself with the details of my situation and the disturbed mental state of the defendant to be able to handle the examinations well. For me, facing the defendant who abused me for over 10 years was terrifying. Ms. Jurney's calm, confidence, compassion and faith in me was the key that helped me remain calm and focused. From my observation that day and my past experience at other (50B) hearings, her professionalism and competency clearly stood out in the courtroom. Ms. Thesing handled my separation agreement. She was wonderfully professional in dealing with both my ex and myself. She guided me through the agreement process and negotiated the terms of the separation on my behalf. Since filing my separation agreement, she has continued to negotiate on my behalf with my ex and reassure me that I did the right thing. I would recommend her again.

We hired Mrs Thesing for a parental agreement, May 2013. Once the agreement was signed by the parents, Mrs. Thesing failed to file it with the court. This worthless agreement was then used against us by the mother to kidnap the child and keep him for 8 days, away from the only family he had known his whole life. We had to hire another attorney to fight to get him back from a mother who left him with unfamiliar family while she went to work for 12 hours a day. According to the judge,during our custody hearing the agreement that Mrs Thesing failed to file was worthless, even though is was signed by the parents.

This was a custody case. She filed the wrong draft in Court. She petitioned for a GAL which the Judge thought was not necessary. Her response time to my emails became longer and longer. She started emailing me things we already decided against. She stopped sending me monthly invoices early on in the case. A month before trial she emails me saying she has already spent the $5000 I paid her and she wants more money even though I was the one running around getting things for the case. Refusing to have a phone conversation with me, she withdrew weeks before trial.

Basically Misfits was hired by me she appeared it to court dates nothing was accomplished basically I was ordered to come to court both times when trying to follow up with Misfits and touch base with her to get information or give information in reference to my case I was contacted days later if at all basically I was referred to her and I'm very disappointed in the outcome basically just started all over again having to hire another attorney at this point in having to do what I done want to go to her to do I'm so no I would not recommend her just based on my personal experience and her lack of communication and lack of empathy towards my case as a client as a paying client I felt that it should have been more attention paid to my case to where I do not have to follow up now again and have to waste some more money on another attorney to do what I paid for Misfits to do in the first place so I'm very unhappy very disappointed with the communication not to mention then at the end of it all I was told that it was a conflict of interest as to the courthouse where I need to be in where she needs to be so let that be a lesson learned yes I lost $1,500 but I'm getting cancer from another attorney at this point so do your research read your reviews make sure that you want to attorney who makes you feel like your case is important as the next person's

I was about five years into a six-plus year, contentious, complex, and difficult Probate Case that led to multiple Estate Case Files, a Civil Suit, and a Special Proceeding adjudicated directly by the Clerk of Superior Court. This case was very difficult for myself, on a variety of levels, that included out-of-state travel, false accusations of avaricious and greedy ex-family, the need to hire several different attorneys at different times during the six-plus year 'process' of the Court. Chris came in around the beginning of the 5th year, and stayed with it to its recent conclusion. I wish that I had found him two or three years earlier. He proved himself to be reliable, honest, and capable - working with me for the most part from a distance, and against very competent but sincerely malevolent opposition. This Case involved three heirs to an Estate, where the significant cash assets of the Deceased Parent were wrongly sequestered and kept by one son [not equally divided as the LW&T specified] - the same son that also took all physical property from the Parents' House in SouthPark, culled through it to take what he wanted, then burned and buried the remainder on a piece of land he [still] owns off of Waxhaw Indian Trail Road. Chris came in to facilitate an equitable sale and then distribution of proceeds from liquidation of the house. This after years of trying to sell the property though cooperation of the three brothers - one was amenable, the other only pretended to agree, then raising objections and changing course 180 degrees whenever we came close to a point in time for actually putting the house on the market. The bad brother also unilaterally rented our Parents' House [he took $30K], retaining all rent proceeds for himself. After the house was finally sold for a decent price, through much wrangling and several hearings, and threats to sell below the appraised value [in violation of the Court's Order] => the house was sold and a 'Disbursement Hearing' was held. For whatever reason, and I withhold my conviction regarding the Court - the Presiding [Elected] Clerk of Court, refused to hear the two good brother's arguments in favor of dividing rent proceeds in 1/3's [sworn testimony was provided], AND in addition to this was just about ready to give the bad brother an additional $12K 'off the top' - when Chris spoke up and asked for time to discuss options between parties. The Presiding Officiate left the room for about an hour [much too long, adding to everyone's legal bill - except that Chris forgave this time in final billing, and I can only say that this also speaks to his character] - she left, and the attorneys discussed, then they discussed options with us, the bad brother left the room with counsel, and in the end, after about twenty minutes, we all agreed to settle to divide the proceeds from liquidation of the house by 1/3, allowing the bad brother to retain all rents collected [on a lease in his name only]. This property was partitioned and we were each tenants-in-kind = rents should have been shared. I am not pleased with this, but; Chris prevented a worse catastrophe, and She clearly did not want to hear anything about sharing rents - every attorney privately expressed surprise at this, but; that's how it went, and none of us could have changed it without the bad brother offering up the rents on his own - that he did not do. Evidence for these facts are in the records beginning early in 2009. I mention all of this to say that this was a difficult place for any attorney to begin, five years in, and some would have taken advantage of this charge exorbitant fees. Chris is reasonable in his charges, trustworthy, good for his word, but; he is not as responsive to inquiries, or kept me informed as I would have liked - then again, that would run up costs. He looked through what I provided and matched it to NCGS. He is a good find - like finding a good dentist, they are just not easy to locate.

it was a quick thing that I needed, but she very quickly handled it, and did what was asked of her. She inherited the case from some one else at the firm, but she got it done quickly. She was hard to get on the phone, but that is really my only complaint.

When we needed an attorney for emergency custody, we called a few attorneys and in the end we decided on Attorney Ferguson. We knew after our first meeting with her that she was very experienced and passionate about her work. Our case started Dec. 2018 and did not end until March 2023 due to the pandemic and other obstacles related to the defendants. There were periods of months between court cases and initially I thought to myself that Attorney Ferguson surely would forget the details of our case and not be well prepared but that was never the case. The first time I heard her argue our case, I was amazed at how well spoken she was and how powerful her delivery was to the judge. She is known to be very blunt and will not back down and that is only one reason she is so successful. Needless to say, we won our case and I feel like Attorney Ferguson was just as happy as we were to finally have closure and our son. You will not regret having her take on your case. Trust in her and she will lead the way.

Aimee is the best lawyer I've ever had contact with. Married three times with bad custody battle twice. She really is wonderful and NOT money grubbing and greedy. Once she even gave me advice without a charge. I truly admire her as a person and as a professional. If I'm ever back in her state and have a need she is the only lawyer I'd ever consider. I miss her, she's very refreshing in today's world of mostly greedy over- rated over-paid attorneys that are heartless.... she is a gem with a great big heart.

Totally incompetent and incapable of doing what you pay her thousands of dollars to do. Never returns phone calls and when I call her office, she is never there. I am constantly told to contact her by email but she never answers those either. She took my money and did nothing but agree to continuances for almost a year and then told me if I didn't pay her more money she would withdraw as my attorney and I could start over. She shouldn't be allowed to be an attorney and take someones hard earned money and do nothing for them. Never hire this fake!

I had hired Jennifer as my attorney. She checked to see if there would be a conflict of interest to which she replied that there wasn't. Yesterday, she informed me by email and not telephone, that she could not represent me because a conflict of interest that was found and she could not relate to me what it was. I expected to be refunded the full amount of the retainer that I had paid to her. This was her fault and not mine. She should have been well aware if there was a conflict of interest. However, only a portion was returned to me. The full amount would have been enough to pay my new attorney. This is costing me a lot of money. I could never do this to someone else. I know that she put work into this and I was willing to pay a small amount for her services but that was not to be. Like I said, it is not my fault that she just found out there was a conflict of interest. That is on her and she should absorb the cost.

Katherine Segall was top notch on my case. I NEVER had to worry about anything throughout the process. David Budd was my wife’s lawyer in her custody case for her two daughters. Throughout the entire year that we’ve had Mr budd as her lawyer, Mr budd has made little to no attempt to help my wife get ready for her court date. Budd will make you do the hard work for him. He makes you print out your own evidence and sort it, he makes you come up with your own questions to be asked in court which is a lawyers job. My wife and I don’t get paid to do his job for him. On top of all of this the last custody hearing we went too David budd had none of the evidence with him at the court house my wife had printed out for him but to make matters worse he didn’t even know half of it was sent over to him! Probably due to his hateful paralegal tiara. David promised my wife a payment plan to which was set up and payments were being made on time, a month before her court hearing withdrawal from being her lawyer because we can’t pay the full amount of which we just sat up a payment plan for. Please beware of this mess of a law firm.

Poor slow communication.Rather than saying my situation was not what he typically deals with he told me to handle it myself.Everyone I spoke to warned me against that. Not only was I scared but now I felt confused and rejected as to how to handle what i had been through. He was kind of a jerk. Thankfully Pisgah legal was able to direct me to someone who was much kinder while directing me to the proper contact for help.

I hired David Budd to represent me in a divorce case and ended up needing his services for child support/custody issues as well. I should note, I started with another attorney but I'm glad I found Mr. Budd because my case was going nowhere before he came on board. Mr. Budd was very matter-of-fact during our consultation and, unlike other lawyers I've encountered, he doesn't hedge all his responses or rely on legalese - he just cut to the chase and got to work on my case. I have been in a custody case with William Andrew Jennings for the past three years, I was never married to my childs mother, and she left the state for two years and moved to Nebraska. She moved back and while she was gone I was engaged to be married, and was supposed to move to Seattle Washington where I had two offers for work, one at $80,000.00 per year, and the second with the potential for $100,000.00 per year, but due to Andrew's slack paralegal, and not being interested in my case all that much, I am now stuck here in NC with a $10.00 per hour job, part time, with no hope of getting ahead in my life therefore causing my son to suffer further. I would not recommend William Andrew Jennings to a traffic case, let alone a child custody case, where there were allegations of abuse and neglect by the child, and blatant abandonment, by my child's mother, and the icing on the cake was the order we received caused us to loose out mental health professional of 5 and years, for an unknown therapist. Do not hire Andrew jennings, he is not worth the money that he charges, if he did your case pro bono, he would still be charging a little to much in my mind.

Clearly, she isn't' all about the $ as another review stated. Tracy was appointed to us through the state but if I ever needed to hire a lawyer- she'd be my pick. She listened to our story from start to finish, was fully prepared each time we went to court, and was able to put my mind at ease more than once. She never made us feel as if we were less than important than someone who paid out of pocket. Super thankful for her and her team back at the office!

I used Ms Thomas for what should have been a simple divorce/custody case. Ms Thomas was too busy for me I guess. She wouldn't return my calls and after many attempts at reaching her, she would have her assistant call me back to ask what I needed. While I was on the stand being questioned by my ex-husband's attorney (whom she seemed very buddy buddy with) I was shown a paper stating my income and asked if I had not agreed to the amount by signing the paper. When I looked at it I noticed that, No I had not signed the paper. Ms Thomas had forged my name and submitted it. The signature was not even close to mine and she misspelled my name! The attorney quickly moved on. Ms Thomas did not ask for Alimony even though I clearly should have gotten it and also didn't state any facts in rebuttal. She was extremely disorganized having brought one large folder full of papers that looked like they had just been shoved into it. After many months of not hearing anything from Ms Thomas I found out that she had some type of heart surgery. I was not informed that she was ill and not working on any cases at the time. This pushed my case out even further. After 17 months, and way too many trips into the court room for a "simple divorce" my divorce was over there was one thing though, she "forgot" to even mention I was divorced. I had to hear about it 6 months later from my ex-husband that the divorce was finalized.

I hired Robin to handle my simple divorce. She completely stopped communicating with me halfway through the process after I'd payed a flat fee up front. Emails and phone calls went unreturned for months. I had to hire a new lawyer and start over again from scratch. I ended up paying for two divorces instead of one. Not recommended.

THEIVES! We used them to handle a workers comp case and they tried to steal over $5000 by sneaking behind our backs and lied in writing! We only found out when one of them let it slip discussing that they received their check weeks prior and we have been ignored and left in the cold for months trying to get paid, even after signing papers and settling! Do not trust these people (Greensboro Office) Cannot believe after they get $20,000+ they have the nerve and greed to attempt stealing another $5,000 illegally.

Losing your home is a horrible experience and this law firm doesn't give damn about you or your circumstances. You're doing everything to come up with the money and this law firm's fees is what will get you because they add more whenever they feel like it and whatever amount they feel like. I called and told them that I'd finally come up with all of the money and two days later they added 6,000 with only a few days for me to come up with money or lose my house. I literally collasped and I hope to never have to deal with them again.

Horrible attorney! If you have her I would go get my money now! She is closing her office early August and is screwing everyone out of their money!!! I gave her full payment for child custody and child support, she then called me 2 weeks after I paid her off and said she was closing her office. She avoided my called for several days and my emails to refund me back my money. Keep in mind she has never been to court for me not one time only filed motion! Literally don’t nothing for me and decided she gets to keep $1500 of my money I paid her for doing absolutely NOTHING FOR ME! I came to the office to get my file and money and she then screamed in my face, cussed at me and completely acted unprofessional infront of two other client's she had in her office!! I repeat go get your money or do not ever hire her!!! Negative 5 stars for me!!! Worthless lawyer!!!
