I am so thankful that I hired Zachary Merliss from Cohen Defense group. He was amazing. He handled my case with care and complete skill. He was always available if I had a question. Zachary was proficient in dealing with several different assistant DA's. He was knowledgeable about the law and what Law Enforcement tries to get away with. Wade Law Group’s handling of my business partnership dispute was a disaster from start to finish. I sought their help when I was being pushed out and needed to recover my equity. Despite providing all the necessary documentation upfront, including the operating agreement and financial statements, their incompetence quickly became apparent.
For seven weeks, my attorney at Wade Law Group engaged in fruitless exchanges, sending threatening letters based on California law and drafting a lawsuit complaint. Only after all this time did I discover that my attorney hadn’t even read the operating agreement—a crucial document in any partnership dispute. This neglect led us to almost violate the agreement by bypassing mandatory mediation and filing the lawsuit in the wrong state. Predictably, my former business partner exploited these errors, leaving me with a much weakened case and a significant financial loss.
After incurring over five figures in legal fees, I made the decision to terminate our relationship. I requested a meeting to discuss the situation, but my attorney not only ignored my request but also responded rudely when I followed up. Eventually, the firm’s owner reached out and offered a partial refund for drafting the complaint in the wrong state. However, the amount he offered was far less than what I had actually been billed, forcing me to go line by line through the invoices and finding the correct amount was five times higher than what he claimed.
I then posted a review of my experience on Yelp, and the owner reached out and offered me a full refund of over $8K in exchange for removing the review and signing a contract agreeing not to post additional reviews about my experience with the firm. When I pointed out that this felt unethical and possibly illegal and proposed that I edit the review to give credit for the refund, he withdrew the offer, falsely claiming that I had rejected it.

These people are rude. And they can't read. I set up a consultation with them, but they canceled before even talking to me and told me that my trial is in three weeks when it's not. They didn't read anything about it, have the nerve to not even meet with me or have a discussion, followed with "best of luck on everything" which is just more insulting, absolutely insulting. i am sorry I called.

Guy Louie Criminal defense attorney back in 2015 He was able to get me the lightest sentence possible four months jail time on the weekends +5 year probation. I couldn't be more grateful for the legal representation provided by the Louie and Jimenez LLP office. My family law case was complex and Mr. Max Louie stepped in when another attorney needed to step back due to a personal reason. He was collaborative with my first attorney and added a lot of value as he came to the case. He sought to understand the complexities which included some sensitive immigration issues.
Mr. Louie was dedicated and communicative, even as the timing of the case required work occurred over holidays and weekends. The entire office pitched in and kept things moving.

My husband and I called the law offices of David Chesney at his first court date they were super kind over the phone explained everything to us took our payment over the phone partial and let us make payments as the case was going forward any questions that we had we were answered promptly. They even called us and did a follow-up a few months later to see how we were doing. I hope I don't ever have to use them again, but if for some reason we do definitely will. will also recommend them to family and friends if needed

I had a substantive consultation with Ms. Stewart and I'm grateful that I chose a different attorney. Since my divorce has been completed, I reviewed the detailed notes I made during our lengthy conversation and much of the information was inaccurate and would have cost me a lot in needless expenses and wasted my time. Kristine was the best lawyer I ever had. She is a wonderful person, and also very knowledgeable with divorce law. She tries to do things collaboratively, and that actually worked very well in my case, as my ex is not the easiest person to deal with, neither was his lawyer who is known to be very aggressive. In this case, trying to be collaborative and civil actually worked quite well , and I was very happy with the outcome. Kristine was also very responsive , and would always address my questions and concerns, and I felt very good through the entire process.

Sadly I must review my experience with this law firm. There appears to be MANY negative reviews with similar complaints regarding this firm, too many actually and date back over a decade. Check for yourself on Google, Yelp, BBB, Pissed Consumer and other sites. Hindsight, I should of used the clinic at the courthouse that offers assistance with legal matters. This has been the most devastating burden in our life and based on our experience and opinion it appears to point in the direction of recurring issues that resonates with other posted negative reviews.
I can offer some constructive consumer feedback to help protect the public before hiring an attorney. (FYI: The information below is available for public consumption)
*Check the State Bar Website. DONOT hesitate to use it to follow up with a bad experience.. It's the insurance to protect the public and defer misconduct and unethical behaviors. Its success hinges on the public's help.
*The State Bar Client Security Fund may be of assistance due to an attorneys dishonesty.
*Check the attorneys business information on the Secretary Of State website. This is a Tall Tale if you understand their procedures and codes.
*Attorney cases can be reviewed at the court house.
*Review your billing within 5 days and if you see any issues (such as: is the retainer fee depleted without any completed work) inquire in writing immediately! The billing practice should not be "creative and collaborative " immediately start to make notes on the bills and DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. Save all correspondence, invoices and statements. If threatened with severing of representation over billing questions: STOP DROP AND ROLL...
*READ the contract, it may seem ok on the face.... is it UNBALANCED to the unsuspecting?
*Maintain a call log.
*Note "complimentary services" then bill you ( court reminders which by the way are generated by the court for free).
*Free consultation, then bill you. Give your head a shake.
*DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
*It's important for every consumer to help protect the public with hopes that law firms have significant insight to their oath and professional responsibility. If you suspect foul play due to indiscretions meet and confer with the District Attorneys Office.
One more thing: "we treat you like family" it's a cliche. ("A cliché is an expression, idea, or action that has been overused to the point of seeming worn out, stale, ineffective, or meaningless" )

I’d contacted William’s office this past Sunday, fully understanding that perhaps I may not get a callback until the next business day. My goodness, I was so shocked and thrilled to get a callback from William within just a couple of hours! Our friends were at the airport ready to fly home when they were taken away by TSA agents and we couldn’t understand why. William took down pertinent information and immediately got to work. I could tell he was working tirelessly to get answers because his communication skills were beyond amazing. I didn’t have to worry about not hearing from him at all. Where do I start. I was going through a bad divorce and had lost all hope of having any sort of custody of my only son. Magdalena Chattopadhya was my third lawyer and I do not know why I met her. I just had a feeling that I should meet her as a last resort. And boy did she exceed my expectations. In the first meeting itself, she assured me that she’ll do the best she can for me. Although, she didn’t promise anything but kinda said what might be the outcome of the case if I had her on board. She’s an absolute gem of a lawyer and has so much knowledge about the family law cases and commands respect in the San Jose family court circle. She has a very pleasing personality and even though her fees are kinda on the higher side but she never charges a penny extra and is very cognizant of her client’s time and money. Legal issues can be daunting. Often we are in need of representation when one is at their low. Especially regarding matters that carry so much emotion. This was my state of mind while facing child custody proceedings and financial support struggles. When under the influence of such high stress and emotion, you need a clear thinking representative that is capable of systematically engineering a plan of action. An attorney who can draw on years of experience and is able to lay out a roadmap. Only then can one begin to see a path toward liberation. What I have found is that it's best to get out in front, take in on and face the challenges with grit. If you procrastinate, you give others the ability to create the narrative and gain advantage. I found Magdalena to be a most wonderful advocate. She was a voice of comfort and reason within a very dynamic and emotional set of circumstances. I emerged from my case in a wonderful position, one that I thought was not possible. In that regard, my attorney outperformed my most optimistic expectations. I filed for a divorce about 20 years ago and thought I was completely divorced- come to find out I never submitted the final paperwork, so I was still married. I contacted Linda and she worked diligently in contacting the courts and submitting paperwork to be able to back track my divorce to the original date. I was so worried that it wasn't going to happen, but she kept pushing through. Because of Linda my divorce became final- she is awesome, I would highly recommend her!

In my opinion she doesn't even deserve one star, but it's required. I was very naive to the divorce world and looked for someone who was professional and specialized in high asset cases. I counted on Myra and her firm to guide me through the process which never happened, and when I asked questions, she was always dismissive, short and demeaning in her delivery. I often felt helpless, and felt it was more important for her to bill me than support me. I paid 10's of thousands of dollars to her firm to fight for me, but when it came down to it, she misled me into believing that I would get a fair settlement, but then sat quietly and left me to fend for myself during mediation, leaving me with much less than expected. She then demanded immediate payment of the balance of her attorney fees to be paid by the end of the day, after agreeing to a payment plan, and then abruptly withdrew as my attorney of record. I would never recommend anyone to this firm and this experience has caused me to lose faith in the justice system!

My husband and I called the law offices of David Chesney at his first court date they were super kind over the phone explained everything to us took our payment over the phone partial and let us make payments as the case was going forward any questions that we had we were answered promptly. Mr. Garcia and Mrs. Gnekow were exceptional in their representation. They worked on my case which was difficult. Unfortunately, I was dealing with an ex-wife who had no interest in dealing or negotiating in good faith for what would be best for our children. My case has been on-going for nearly five years. Multiple RFO's filed through the years and endless litigation just to get small extensions of my visitation. The biggest issue is I had no legal or physical custody rights to my children. I was in a big deficit. I had a previous attorney that was good, but Mrs. Gnekow had big plans for me. She believed in my case and from day one believed she could help me get more than what I was even asking for. I had pretty much dropped the idea of joint legal custody because most people thought I needed a change of circumstance to make that happen. Not Mrs. Gnekow or Mr. Garcia. They saw their chance to argue that for me along with all my other requests which were very reasonable, (holidays, half of vacation breaks,). When they time came in the last few weeks to go to court; we hardly spent time in the actual courtroom. It took a few weeks to navigate through the stipulation and I knew my ex-wife would not go down without a fight, but in the end Mrs. Gnekow and Mr. Garcia got it done. I am a Christian and God brings people into your life for a reason. God brought me to this firm and their firm delivered beyond my expectations which is how God operates. I called the office of Barbara May to inquire about a one time consultation. The secretary was incredibly rude. The whole conversation was infuriating. The secretary told me « let’s see first if you can afford our fees before anything. Then she told me we don’t have time for people like you who just seek advices » I was chocked. They charge 375 dollars for the first appointement and ask for $4000 before you even meet with them. They say they don’t have time to give people consultation, you have to choose them as long term attorney or they won’t give any advices on any matter. Where is humanity and kindness in all this? I never met Barbara but I know one thing her secretary sabotaged her work by being so hostile.
