Scammers. They had me pay all of the money they were charging me for my case then claim that their business was closing because the owner had “cancer” and I couldn’t get my money back WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY.

I was uncomfortable from the first time I walked into the office. I felt like I was in the middle where they just grind out bankruptcies. I was not happy about filing a bankruptcy but it needed to be done. In the meantime things went from bad to worse my son died and I was in the hospital for a month. When I told them I really wanted to go with a different firm one of their employees told me that they would keep me in court to use all the money. I was talking about small claims court. She was almost yelling at me. I’m thinking about making a complaint with the state attorney board. But I warn you right now stay away from them. I am shortly going to be 74 years old. And the way she yelled at me it was almost elder abuse. I believe their shysters. And due to my failing health. I’ve been delayed and filing a small claims court. To my knowledge you cannot be represented by an attorney in small claims court. But apparently their employee thought differently. Beware

We had 2 evictions going on simultaneously with the Cal-Lawyer firm this month July 2022. One was a complicated case with highly problematic tenants. Russell held my hand through the passing of my parents only 6 months apart. He was professional and was there for me not only during a trying time, but when the 2020 Covid pandemic hit and everything was unsure and daunting. Law offices of Sabrina Li is highly recommended! They are extremely professional, helping to let my missed 6/30 deadline H1B approved!!!
My first H1B submission was rejected because of an error with the fee check. The second time, it was rejected again for missing the June 30th deadline. I was completely desperate and consulted many law firms, all of which had never encountered such a situation and advised me to give up. I feel very sad as it is difficult for me to have lottery chance to win H1B this year. I think in the future it may have no change to win H1B lottery again. Fortunately, through a friend's recommendation, I found Li Xiang Law Firm. They helped to write NPT request (Nunc pro tunc) that allow USCIS to backdate the submission so that the delay can be considered as timely filled as the delay is caused by uncontrollable factors.
Amazingly, on the fourth business day after sending the package to USCID, the approval notice was received!!! I’m truly grateful!!! Law Office of Sabrina Li is highly recommended!!!

The WORST. As if divorce isn’t stressful enough. These people don’t communicate. Ignore emails, give conflicting information, don’t know what’s going on with your case and threaten you at every turn if you don’t pay them in 24 hours? They treat you like a criminal for no reason. I’ve never seen such a lack of professionalism. If you speak up for yourself, they will drop you in the middle of your case and tell you to represent yourself. And yeah, they will communicate then.

I spoke with attorney Austin for some guidance related to my two years long divorce case. He took his time to answer all of my questions and I felt heard and respected. He even went over the 45 minutes I was allowed and did not charge extra for the extra time. He took the case but did nothing to help, he knew the court would rule in alignment the mediators recommendation. He showed up to court and delayed the proceeding by 4 hours to milk the hourly rate. He asked the judge for breaks to talk to me and the other party then started to make request on behalf of the other party. I wish I knew Iim advance he would be of no assistance, money down the drain. The other party made false allegations and scheduled an emergency hearing under false pretenses. Gary's advice be the better parent.

Hired and initially good. I believe he is a good person. However, as my case progressed, poor guidance was given and it cost me physical protection from my abusive ex. When the case got complex, he clearly preferred to believe another attorney and showed more concern about his reputation than fighting for a little girl who was strong enough to report her abuser. When he was released from his position, he neglected to produce documents in his care that cost me over thousands of dollars. Still fighting in court to get payment due to his negligence.

A year ago I found Christopher John on Avvo, and because of good reviews I decided to go to their office for consultation. In the office I got a free consultation from MR Hannosh who works in Sunnien Law as an attorney. He said that they work together with Christopher. He was very nice and helpful and I decided to hire them to work on my divorce case.
I worked with Sunnien Law and Mr Hannosh on my divorce case.
I paid them for my divorce 4000$ in advance. As soon as I realized that Sunnien law spent all this money, I wrote them a letter that I don't want to work with their agency anymore, because I don't have a job and money and I am actually an international student. In 2 month they sent me an invoice and said that I have to pay them almost 4000$ on top of what I already paid.
I feel like these people tricked me because my English is not very good. They did a very bad job with my divorce case. I finally went to the court alone. They did everything to charge me as much as possible and do a very little job.
They work very badly, don't pay attention to details and they don't care about the result. NEVER hire them.

Not only did I feel like I entered another world when I first met Elyse Margolin - I did enter another world. This firm was radically different. Elyse was my 3rd attorney in a very complicated contentious divorce. She completely understood the issues immediately, had no problem grasping the twists and turns and contortions that had been going on. She was kind, warm and supportive, quick, smart, effective. She and her staff jumped in full steam and were personally invested, determined not to let any of the many balls drop.
That was 12 years ago. I am forever grateful to have her as my attorney. My friends are always in awe when they hear how much she has done for me. Recently I contacted her to help me with defaulted support payments. Again, she quickly responded and worked tirelessly to find a solution to a very complex and unusual set of issues.

When my then-husband decided against continuing divorce mediation because he couldn't have his way and signed on with an expensive family law firm, I was at a loss of what to do. I had given up my career 17 years earlier to raise our children and, though I worked part time, was dependent on my husband for many things including my medical coverage. I was frightened, naive, and did not understand how divorce "worked".
I asked a friend who was a prominent lawyer specializing in California family law and he recommended George Seide, who he knew from a legal study group they both belonged to. He assured me that George was smart, honest, principled and not someone who could be bullied. My friend was right. George was also compassionate and reassuring. It was a relief to have George handling my divorce. My phone calls and emails were returned quickly and efficiently. He made sure that property division and child custody were handled fairly.
I recently came across a handwritten post-it note George had stuck on one of the outrageous demands from the opposing lawyer: "Don't be worried by this nonsense. George".
I highly recommend George Seide to anyone seeking a lawyer for family law issues.

Years of litagation, wouldn't ya know it, I married an attorney and her friends are attorneys and her family is attorneys and wow, George goes in, fights and we win. He has been fighting for years because I am not getting a right deal and, she pissed him off. He is the best attorney money can buy, I have 89% custody of my 3 children and long long ago, I was a Male Porn star. Come on. He is the BEST, his prices are the Best. My results speak for themselves, George accomplishes all he goes for and he knows everyone from his years of work and his humanitarian ventures, working with CSSD attorneys and staff and teaching, educating and participating to the entire California court and law system. A teacher I would say... and everyone loves him. He saved my kids time and time again from vicious attorneys and lunitic ex to be. I almost never do reviews for anything. this has been a completely different experience from my first counsel and for the better. Coenenberg Familt law gets it. It's very had to deal with divorce and loss for time with children and the last thing you want is to worry about is if you have counsel who actually cares. you won't have to worry about that here.
I found the entire staff to be understanding, empathetic, professional and prompt with phone calls and emails.
Like I said, I never to reviews but this is important and I hope that it helps people in finding the right Lawyer. I couldn't have asked for better in a very very stressful time.

I worked with Joanne on a prenuptial agreement. This was my first time dealing with a lawyer so I had no idea what to expect. Joanne was extremely professional, responsive, and easy to work with. She explained the process to me very thoroughly and I truly feel like she had my best interests at heart. If it weren't for the the opposing counsel's side, the process would have wrapped up within a few weeks due to the quick speed at which Joanne is able to work. After spending 10,700 Ms Garrett told me to negotiate my own settlement with my ex husband. All she had to do was help me enforce the divorce decree.
She could not remember my name or anything about my case when we spoke but charged me for everything.
I got screwed twice, once by my ex and then by Ms Garrett. Do your homework before thinking about hiring any lawyer, don't hire them based on 5 star reviews.
Check out their track record first or you might as well throw your money in the toilet.

Linda Garrett is a gem! I was nervous about the process, I was worried about the quality of service and uncertain about the cost. I called Linda's office and scheduled a consultation. During our complimentary consultation, which she offers for 10 to 15 minutes, as an opportunity to explain her services; I could sense her level of integrity. She explained the process and shared my options in depth, she even gave me some suggestions of what to do and not to do when communicating with the courts, in event I chose to represent myself.
I tossed and turned the night after our free consultation because I knew I needed a lawyer, but I was worried about the cost. After obtaining Linda's rate, I researched for hours trying to determine the going rate, and I discovered that Linda's rate of service is definitely the norm within the law industry.
Since I had such a good feeling about her, I scheduled a one-hour consultation, where I was able to share the details of my case; at that time, I felt affirmed that I needed to retain Linda. Before the call was over, I asked Linda if she would represent me, and she said "Yes!". What a relief, I thought. Note: She was on time for both calls! And her Assistant is super friendly and accommodating.
We synced our schedules, I sent the required paperwork and payment, and about a few days later, we spoke again by phone to complete the court documents (Family Law). It was an AWESOME experience, Linda completed the paperwork with me on the phone, she asked me questions and shared what she was typing as she went. After the paperwork was done, Linda sent me a copy to review and provide any edits, if I had any.
I had no corrections, everything was flawless!!!!!!
The next communication was when Linda emailed me to confirm that the paperwork had been filed, and the next step after that was our court date.
On the court date itself, we met each other 15 minutes early to check-in. I was so happy to see her! Her appearance was very professional, and her energy was kind and supportive. While I was so anxious, I am certain that if I didn't retain Linda, my experience would have been much different; and probably not as promising.
The day went smoothly, and Linda's defense granted a dismissal.
Linda Garrett is Trustworthy, honest, caring and I can tell that she is passionate about serving her clients to the highest of her ability. She is not in this field purely for the money, she cares, I didn't feel like a number, I didn't feel like her attention was divided, she made me feel like NUMBER 1, like her highest priority!
Linda was friendly with the court staff, has a calm confidence about herself, and more than anything, I felt like someone who REALLY cared about my circumstances was there to support me.
I am so grateful for Linda. I am hoping I won't need to go to court again, and if I do, without hesitation, I will reach out to Linda, hoping she can fit me into her busy schedule.

I retained Maxine Ho as my attorney for a period of time between 2019 and 2020. Due to early mistakes on my part, my divorce case had turned complex and was challenging for just about any attorney to turn around. I was fortunate to have Maxine consider representing me given the circumstance.
Maxine is a great attorney who is efficient, polite, honest and responds in a timely manner. She has the ability to apply aggression if and when necessary, and she also stands her ground if and when in disagreement with her client, with good intention and in good faith - in saying so, I can highly recommend her.
I have not come across decent attorneys even after an extensive search over a period of 4 years; however, I can say that Maxine is one of the few good ones.
Unfortunately, I was forced to part ways with Maxine - nothing to do with her service but due to my financial limitations alone. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for her legal advice, time, and efforts representing me.

arina has been representing me since 2019. She represented me throughout my divorce, as well as child custody issues. She also went to trial with me.
I have nothing but good to say about her professionalism and the way she handled and continues to handle my case. She is very realistic and doesn't sugar coat or promise unrealistic things. Anytime that I need to talk to her, she always calls me back right away.
Some lawyers tend to be very loud, aggressive, rude and even nasty in court, which irritates most judges. That is not her style. Marina is very respectful and she handles everything with dignity. During court she stays calm, but very firm at the same time. She is good at exposing lies and knows how to ask the right questions to do that.
