You never think one day you’ll need to go through the process of fighting for custody of your children. Unfortunately that day came me. I found myself in a love-less relationship with an unfaithful partner who I shared 2 beautiful children with. I felt helpless because you always think the law favors the mother in most cases. Being an extremely involved father who coached and was very active in my children’s life, I knew I didn’t want to be the typical every-other-weekend warrior father, I had to fight for my children. I was referred to The Pappalardo Law group from a friend of a friend who was also an attorney in Connecticut. She was very confident that this was the best Law Firm for my situation. I reluctantly made the call and set up the appointment. Turned out to be one of the best most important decisions I’ve ever made. John Pappalardo assigned his associate Sam to my my case and from day one they both worked tirelessly to understand our circumstances and put together an amazing case to present to the court. It was a long stressful road but being able to be in my children’s life on a day to day basis made the tough journey worth it. Sam was an amazing partner through all of this even going on maternity leave, having a baby and still returning to my case to close it out. She was extremely attentive and the communication always made me feel like I was a priority. Nobody ever wants to go through this process in life but if you find yourself in a situation where you’re fighting to keep your children in your life, I would Highly recommend reaching out and putting your trust in The Poppalardo Law Group.

Updated review. I cannot stress to anybody reading this enough: who you hire matters and you get what you pay for. Attorney’s have case after case slide across their desk. It’s a job at the end of the day to most. If Aaron Shapiro or the force that is Amanda Schaffer takes your case, TRUST THEM. Full disclosure: I am a nightmare client. On a scale from 1-10, I’m an 11 in terms of annoying. My son is my absolute world. I have been a “white pony” more times than you can imagine. Over-billed. None of it made sense. Those attorneys cared about a paycheck. Aaron and Amanda are not only EXCELLENT attorneys, they’re good people. They have a backbone. Their time is valuable. They’re not cheap. Know that. When your child, freedom, or immigration status is on the line — don’t put it in the hands of someone who treats you like a file. The legal progress is exhausting (mentally and financially — I know it all too well.) It’s unfair. Read that again.
No attorney should ever promise you a victory. Here’s what this random stranger who’s been put through the wringer for 3 years can promise you first hand — this firm cares and they’re your best shot.

He had me sign the retainer, pay almost $7000 and disappeared. He did not show up in court saying I still had to sign a form. I never received said form and he stopped answering altogether. I cannot believe he would do this to families in need of help.

Honestly, honestly, if I could give zero stars, I would I have never met people who are so rude and don’t want to help at all. I called with a question. I was transferred to two different people and then finally told that they can’t give me the answer, but it wasn’t even a kind, respectful response it was rude and telling me that I would have to pay them to receive an answer yes or no but she told me that she’s not so she can’t give me the answer but if I pay her, she can give me the answer in November.

If you want someone to screw you out your monies go to her I dealt with deformation and she sat there and allowed it everything I asked of her I get told wait for ops to expire guess what when ops expire she told me to do it myself no less the courts went to me the case is closed. I still don’t have my belongings and stuff I told her my sister’s manipulation of mom and sister’s intentions and guess what all my gut feeling no less proof was correct. Her going you don’t want to go to trial you’ll be embarrassed save your pride well I too when I could I contacted my nieces legal aid also had a nice chat she wasn’t thrilled my sister played her daughter a child I took care of since she was a infant to teens that live with me and mom on to hurt me I filled out a foil with family and children services found out even more lies told to me untrue. Thanks to a honest staff. At headquarters of family and children services telling me fill out a foil immediately. And after that year too my mother has had a fall and surgery and my sister walked just like she did when I lived there. Gosh on top my sister made sure other stuff was false all papers Natasha didn’t share with me just helped them scare me more and go I am happy you got your own place and move on with your life while my sister hovers over mom and controls her gains moms house when mom dies but while mom alive mom paying for all the food, the house costs as well the yard work even a electrical
Pole outside on mom and the town’s property was about to snap sister didn’t report it to make sure yard safe for mom to mom able to do everything she said she was too old to do when I lived there but not I ain’t there she doing it and sister is living on her and oh well where is the justice huh when my mother ends up in a wheelchair or worse and then people will go why wasn’t anything done. Natasha you knew the lies etc gosh even I had audio proof to clear my name no less the first police report and others could been fought since I lived in that house 7 months after first time sister attacked me and flipped the storyline to accuse me no one would have someone live in there home for 7 month after that accusation no less order the person to stay home with them the person would have been removed immediately and Natasha you know it. I would think after all this time you’d make things right for me I was even told no attorney charges a retainer fee for each op so you did more then lie you scammed me and even communication between you and other attorneys you pulled out my file on top she love canceling your appts with her last minute like 5 minutes prior so for me to drive in pain to my sister in law taking time off work to go with me lost her wages for that time to never available on the phone it is a tag game so she could charge me for the office to take the call for her then she get back when fits her to cause her staff would know nothing. I am putting it on here to arm people she destroys your life with those doing perjury. Like her saying the legal aid for my niece wants and doesn’t say all but see doesn’t even play the proof to the child’s legal aid that the kids needs help but Natasha does go to me something wrong with my sister year to call me crap since she pregnant with her child but leaves me caring no less for the child but the child to live with me 24/7 for me to take child out for me to have calls that she needs me to help the child’s doctor with medical cause I use same doctor to she calling it aunt days meaning I am to no only take child out to movies lunch dinner alone with me but to pay for it etc and no I will not be threatened to take down review you destroyed my life with the monster and lied to the courts and let me take a beating for stuff I find do like I said 7 months in that house something completely wrong no less what was done once sister thought court mediation was done no less I was mislead it was a judge when it wasn’t. Now see it I was lying then why she doesn’t see her grandsons like she did when I lived there seems to be my other siblings saw the truth

Honest and Helpful Attorney!

My experience with Adrienne D. Edward Law Office was appalling. I felt always in the dark regarding my situation because of the inadequate communication. The level of service was subpar, and it appeared that they were more concerned with collecting money than assisting me. I wouldn't suggest this business to anyone looking for capable legal representation since the entire process was stressful and disappointing. Considering my experience, all the glowing reviews seem dubious. Look elsewhere and spare yourself the headache.

Tried to get a copy of my missing house closing papers. The attitude thrown at me was disrespectful and belittling - they could not be bothered and actually went out of their way to NOT help me, telling me I have to wait for my former attorney who no longer works there to return from her vacation. It was an urgent request and they could tell that I was clearly in a panic. Terrible.

Mary did an absolutely great job handling the estate of my sister as well as the sale of her house. She was always responsive to any questions that came up and she made the entire process much easier during a very difficult time in our family’s life. I had an issue with my bank which came up at the last minute before closing and Mary took the initiative to step in and resolve the matter on her own. Aside from the office staff/paralegal this was an abysmal experience. I met with Michael and explained what I was looking for from him. In the initial meeting he told me a little about the process and charged us the fee.
I didn’t hear back from him for 3.5 months. When I called him to ask for an update you could hear the panicked paper rustling in the background. He said he’s been meaning to call me and set up a meeting for me to sign what he prepared, basically a two page document riddled with errors. He said he would keep me posted along the way.
I didn’t hear from him again for a couple weeks when I again reached out to him. He said he would call me the next week with an update.
Two weeks later I had to call him for an update because he never reached out.
The work I needed from him was eventually completed but I can’t help but feel like I was his lowest priority client and he made no efforts to communicate with me.
I will be looking for another law firm for my future estate planning and real estate needs.
I’m sure some of the lawyers here are fantastic because there are so many good reviews and my families attorney had recommended them, but I will not be using this firm again.

I initially hired a mediator for my divorce, when things took a turn for the worse I was referred to Ken Novenstern. Ken help me trough some of the most difficult unreasonable negotiations in and out of court. I have often referred to Ken as the big quiet man with the big stick, the stick of expert negotiating and knowledge in a court room. Ken and the rest of this outstanding legal team helped through the most difficult time in my life. I would highly recommend Ken for anyone seeking counsel for a divorce. It's a bad feeling when you can't even trust your own lawyer. It's worse when you feel misunderstood and unsupported. Ken didn't get it, and in one of my darkest hours, showed I couldn't depend on him. Many reviews here love Ken. This was certainly not my experience. Even considering a mutual acquaintance recommended him, I could not believe the shoddy/sloppy service I was offered. To be specific: early on, Ken forwarded an email to the opposing attorney, that had confidential communications between me and him; Ken routinely started our sessions late (a few minutes to 10 or more minutes.. he always apologized, and seemed very busy. Too busy to keep track of things, as he also regularly didn't have the proper paperwork in front of him, and wasn't adequately prepared for our conversations. - this despite my attempts to set agenda items beforehand At least a few times, he didn't forward key information/documents to me, that had been circulated to all parties, except me (namely: apartment appraisals, and the request for judicial information (RJI).. I learned about these developments in a surprise manner.. this is just unprofessional/too busy to attend to detail.) Finally, just about every meeting we had, he would take a phone call, or at least twice, someone came into the office to ask him a question unrelated to my case. This become normal. He always apologized, and it only took a minute, but I never liked it.) I addressed our communication issues twice with Ken. The second time I got a smirk from him, in response to communicating my genuine concerns. You're not going to take me seriously?! That's not going to fly with me. Not for $550/hour, are you kidding me!? From that moment on, I communicated to Ken that we should hold off on any communications with opposing attorney, to keep costs down, and to give me time to interview other attorneys. I didn't want him in my corner.. it didn't feel he was there anyway. Ken explicitly and brazenly, after that communication of mine to put a complete pause on all activities, in fact communicated with the lawyer. He thought he needed to, as it had "been some time". And I got charged for that communication! Unacceptable. Illegal? I don't know, about the latter. I appealed that charge, and it was removed from the bill, but the multitude of unconscionable, unprofessional, or sub-standard/sloppy acts and behaviors should be brought to others' attention. All this happened months ago (I still owe the firm $).. rarely have a felt more betrayed. (As a side note: I see Ken's response to the other negative review, outlaying detailed personal information about the reviewer, parts of which strike me as ethically questionable... let's see how Ken decides to treat this other negative review, and what that says about him, and what he's willing to say.)

Carol Most took an approach that was unlike any other matrimonial attorney that I spoke with - she showed care, concern and understanding from the beginning. Ms. Most took the time to understand the case and fully assess the situation before we jumped in - not just review the size of the estate and just begin the process. Carol and her partner< Adam Schneid, stayed the course through an absurd trial, filled with now proven false statements and false accusations by a predator opposing counsel. Mr. Schneid is highly intelligent and strong, detailed (to a fault) oriented litigator - They did not stoop the absolutely low level of opposing counsel. They remained focused, sharp, professional and honorable to the end. The result, considering the above, was one where the absurd was tossed out and fairness applied due to their efforts. Karyn is an absolute saint! I obtained another lawyer when I was first served with divorce papers-needless to say he was absolutely horrible.
