Katherine was my divorce attorney and I don't feel she represented my best interests with any sincerity and her focus was on billing until I was wrung dry, at which point, she dumped me as a client against my wishes. In the long run, she did me a favor but at the time it was very stressful and I was left unrespresented because I couldn't afford to lay out another retainer, as she was aware.
She was not successful in securing a good deal with the other side, repeatedly brushed off my concerns and didn't bother to inform me of any strategy or what to expect. Her "bedside manner" was pitiful.
When I had a status conference coming up again, she threatened that if I did not come up with the balance several days in advance that she would not go on my behalf. I scraped up most of it but could not come up with the entire amount. She accepted that and seemed ok with the small balance left.
She went in to the conference and announced to the lawyer, court clerk and judge that she would not be represnting me further, without having informed me. Afterwards, she explained to me what had transpired, urged me to take the paltry offer from the other side and only then let me know that she wanted off my case because I had lost faith in her. I told her that we did not need to like each other in order to continue, should be keep things professional and that I had no recourse to replace her as my funds were dry. If perhaps she had secured spoousal support from my ex who earned far more than I did, I could have afforded to pay her but she was not interested in pursuing that. She did not seem to care about the dire financial situation I was in and had ignored my suggestions that she try to get court ordered compensation from the other side as well. I knew this was possible from other separated people I knew in simiar situations on both counts.
It had been approximately 6 months since forward progress had been made in our case. I kept paying for status conferences and to only keep hearing how the other attorney does not return calls. The offer she was suggesting I consider was ridiculously low and I truly believe she wanted to move on to someone with deeper pockets and had lost interest in my case.
I asked her not to take herself off my case because I needed representation and she said if I did not sign to allow it, she would go to court and would get the judge to let her off anyway. She agreed to waive her fee for the last court appearance because if I had known she was quitting, I would not have wanted her speaking on my behalf. I felt coerced into letting her resign.
I am now being pursued for the balance on my account at a larger amount than agreed. I offered her a settlement but instead she hired a lawyer to pursue it in court. That feels like bullying again from someone who knows the law against someone who cannot afford professional representation.
I was referred to her because my prior attorney made a large financial mistake that, luckily, I caught when discussing it with someone who was more experienced than I am. The person who referred her said she would fight for me and be a pit bull. Unfortnately, rather than feel like she was representing me, I felt that she was fighting me rather than fighting for me.
In the end, she did me a favor because I represented myself and got a far more favorable deal than she had pushed me to take. It involves retirement funds which I can't touch yet so that doesn't help me with affording her current bill, which is higher than she last agreed to accept. I was stressed about going in on my trial date without a lawyer for almost 6 months. Divorce is stressful enough already but she left me to feel defenseless for months, literally.

Jacob Silver is an outstanding attorney! My partner was dealing with bad debt and went through a hard time with not being able to make ends meet. I found Mr. Silver on google and saw the amazing reviews and had my partner make an appointment ASAP. STOP! Do Not Look Any Further! Robert is your man!
I have been dealing with my ex and her family literally since my son was born in 2011 and them trying relentlessly to get full custody of him. After the first three court fights with a different attorney and trying to appease demands and doing what was best for my son, that still was not good enough.
During my 3rd court fight in 2018, I reached out to Robert because I realized this was not going to stop. Even though I had another attorney at the time, I placed a retainer with Robert as well. I knew I would need someone more aggressive for a bigger fight that would come in the future. I wanted Robert to be familiar with my case and to plan for it. Well, that 4th fight came this year (2023-2024), and HE DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
Robert has the right balance of aggressiveness, exceptional knowledge, firmness, and negotiating skills. But if push comes to shove, just put your feet up, sit back, and watch! He will NEVER let you be bullied or give an inch on what you legally deserve. So much so, during this 4th court fight, Robert was able to modify my previous court orders (in favor of me), while the opposition filed custody petitions, enforcement petitions, and modification petitions. All of which failed!
Robert is still on retainer! Because as of today, the next time/the LAST TIME/the most important time...will be on our terms! Already preparing.
DO NOT LOOK ANY FURTHER!!!!

When I went to see Stacey, I was sobbing and almost incoherent. My sister-in-law joined me to ensure that everything was comprehended and understood. Stacey, although I was very emotional, cut straight to the chase with regard to my pending divorce. She put my emotions aside, and with her experience and dedication, directed me on exactly what needed to happen next. It was clear to me that she was very experienced with a no- nonsense approach to what needed to be done. I was not referred to Lance. I live 90 minutes away from his office and needed an attorney on Long Island. I chose Lance based on a few positive reviews and a frantic need for representation.
A complex divorce has had me working with him for almost two years. Amid a hectic schedule that all good divorce attorneys navigate , moments when the emotions of it all make you feel snubbed by the world, and even your attorney, Lance has helped me to create a case against my ex-wife that will likely result in the win I’ve longed for. If it doesn’t, it will have been of no fault to Lance. Together we crafted a motion that dissected my ex-wife’s false claims and lies. Over a year later, 8 adjournments and a continued emotional roller coaster I was able to see Lance on trial. His performance was no less than brilliant in every way possible. While my case is ongoing, his strategy made a fool of opposing counsel, and his intellect, instinct and confidence in front of the judge completely demolished the false narrative that was presented to the court by my ex. As a loving father this moment to fight back felt like life or death for me. While I feel like I’ve already won bases on egregious actions of my ex, and the truth, I’m realistic a court may not see what I saw. As a client, it is hard to differentiate emotions from necessary strategy. It takes a pro who knows how to position your case in front of a judge to succeed. I trusted him and he surpassed my expectations.
The best way to work with Lance is to ask what he needs from you, and how that information needs to be disseminated to him. Your efforts will make the difference. Throughout this wild ride, Lance will be fast to return text and emails, and slow at time. This is common for every attorney brave enough to take on the insanity of divorce. Your time will come when you feel completed loved by Lance. Be patient. Your opinions will be heard. You’ll like be put in your place a few times, but tensions are high in battle. True Leaders keep the novices in line. You’ll need thick skin everywhere you turn while in a divorce battle.
Beyond legal, and after significant time spent with Lance, at his office and even at his home, I also leaned he is a very good father and loving husband. His humanity has mattered to me. It should to you.

Ms. Middleton is a compassionate, professional and caring attorney. She fought hard for my daughter who ex wanted joint physical custody. After firing my first TWO LAWYERS, I was finally relieved to have found Natalia. I had just escaped an abusive relationship and my ex decided he wanted to sue me for custody of our 1 yr old son.. (Even though he never showed any interest in being a father until I got the courage to leave him) He was incredibly skilled at playing the victim and I needed someone who was able to not only recognize this but to have the ability to present the truth to the judge. From our first consultation, I knew I finally found the right representation with Natalia. She was incredibly intelligent, attentive and perceptive. She helped me to navigate this nightmare with such professionalism and tenacity. After 2 1/2 years of litigation, the judge in fact saw that my ex dragged me to court under “self serving” purposes and awarded me Sole Legal AND Physical custody with permission to relocate out of state. Definitely a lawyer with experience.. not a bad lawyer… just an awful human. Once understood there was no money just technically teamed up with opposition missing to communicate crucial information that I’m still struggling with the consequences. I had other lawyers after her, unfortunately ended up representing myself cause unable to sustain the legal fees till court assigned me one. Every lawyer I had after her did much better communicating and explaining the process. Overall I really picked her cause she was adhering to a plan my insurance was offering. If you are short on money keep shopping around.. she won’t do any good for you. It’s a joke people with these principals are supposed to represent justice.
