David Abromowitz was the lawyer I hired to help set up my IV Hydration and Vitamin Infusion business. He charged me quadruple what was discussed (quoted me 3.5-5K - charged me over 20K and I paid a final amount of OVER 12k - astronomical amount) and took 3 times as long to complete the job. Three other nurses in my coaching group (NursePreneurs) had similar experiences with him and another nurse, coincidentally, came forward today from a different IV Hydration/Vitamin Infusion business reporting the same story. RNs - be warned! He is dishonest and will overcharge you! I notified the BBB but his response was "I'm sorry she didn't understand". You and I both know the truth, Mr. Abromowitz. You were intentionally dishonest. It's people like you that give lawyers a bad name. All these RNs trusted you, I trusted you. Despite your lawyerly response to this review - you and I know the truth.

Very unprofessional. I paid Jessica $350; all she did was eat her breakfast, and she gave me some paperwork. She was too rude even to answer any questions and never answered my calls after the original consultation . She then claimed to have sent me several emails and demanded that I answer her (her way to get rid of me as a client) to sever her services; at this point, I realized it was best to cut my losses and get a lawyer who cared. Please don't waste your time with this one; she is a high-priced waste of your time.

I met Mr. Baker at the consultation, and that was the last real conversation I ever had with him. He would send form letters to let me know of court appearances, long after I had already found out about it online. I would have questions, never having been in trouble with the law before, nothing I would think were a waste of his time to answer. When do I get a copy of the police report, for instance. He became increasingly agitated, saying I just had to trust him and not worry, which was almost impossible as the charges were serious. I found out online that the trial was going to jury and called him, even though I knew he didn't like that. What will happen, what questions will they ask me, etc. The two minute conversation ended with him actually yelling "bye" to me while I was still talking and hanging up. I walked into the courtroom in utter despair. I had found out for myself what the sentence could be, and did not have a clue what Mr. Baker had planned. When he arrived I could tell by the look on his face he had forgotten everything. We hadn't spoken in so long, I had to answer questions I really felt he should have known walking in there. I am so thankful that the judge allowed me a chance to speak in my defense, as Mr. Baker did no more than the defense attorneys I had watched while I was waiting. I could tell by the judge's face that I was indeed giving some information that was very pertinent to my case, and feel the sentence would have been much harsher had I relied on my lawyer to say what I had said. I even held up physical evidence that didn't seem to matter to Mr. Baker, proof of what I have been doing since my arrest to turn my live around. And amazingly, near the end of my speech my own lawyer snickered at me, as if I had said something stupid. To be in the legal system and looking at serious punishment is a nightmare for anyone. But I feel Mr. Baker made an already stressful situation unbearable. I felt alone, in the dark, helpless, and doomed the whole time. It was shockingly unprofessional and worse, terribly insensitive way to be treated.

I was being represented in court by Donna Mayor she had done nothing for me in court. She was rude and not willing to listen to a word on my case. She didn't even look at my paperwork or evidence in my favor. It wasn't that I didn't want to pay I just didn't agree with all the fees and being charged 3x my rent amount. I had recieved rental assistance for which my landlord only applied 2 months. He applied the rest to unreasonable charges which was thousands of dollars. I even wanted to represent myself but she discouraged me with her actions and bullying. A man named Chris who works there was trying to find information in regards to my funds from the city and what they were for. she started throwing paper at him and belittling him. Now I have no one to help me. Donna just wanted me to settle so she can go on about her day doing nothing or just as okay with me being evicted. She seemed more representing of my landlord then me. When i explained the behavior to her supervisor it was said she was a good attorney. Talking about accountability. Please if your are desperate don't go to this agency they will make sure your family becomes homeless and humilate you while in the process too. I cannot believe the government funds this agency to ruin lives and collect money.

Hired him based off of the same faith. Which I can tell you is THEE worst decision to do. Secretary was rude and often times tried to overtalk me. Paralegals I won't say they lie. But let's say they NEVER get back to you. I've had to request a meeting because of mixed messages with the threat of using other "options." Which ironically a few days after that. The paralegal who was working here "left." I didn't know it and never would have except I left 5 emails which were unanswered. So I call and find out she's gone. No email assigning a different paralegal. Just the usual unanswered email. If you are somali he greets you with salams. But if your an aboriginal black born in the U.S. He talks to you with disdain. And mispronounces your kids names wrong. Which is odd since my one son's name is in the Quran. And that's the one he butchers. But my other sons name is NOT in the Quran. And that's the one he says correctly. Perhaps he would be better off just running for the state congressional seat that he runs for. But his constituents would be in a lot of trouble if their not somali.

I don’t write bad reviews lightly, but I urge you to carefully consider before hiring Brittany Gregorchik for your child custody case. My experience was disappointing and frustrating, especially considering how crucial custody matters are. I found Ms. Gregorchik through a program called LegalShield, which promised a free consultation with an attorney. However, from the start, she was neither informative nor willing to consult with me without an upfront payment of $2,500. Despite my reservations, I paid the fee immediately. It then took several days for her to respond. When we finally discussed my case, I was clear about my expectations, but Ms. Gregorchik disregarded my input and failed to include key points in the court documents. After the documents were submitted, I heard nothing for two weeks. I emailed her for an update but received no response. Frustrated, I contacted the Clerk of Courts in my county, who informed me they had been trying to reach Ms. Gregorchik because she had not paid the required filing fee. Left with no other option, I paid the fee myself. I then reached out to LegalShield, hoping they could prompt her to respond. Shortly after that, she called me, but the conversation was anything but professional. She was disrespectful, raised her voice, and told me she had "other things to do" than handle just my case. When I explained why I contacted LegalShield, she accused me of damaging our attorney-client relationship. This lack of communication and professionalism continued throughout my time with her. In total, I may have spoken to her for about 20 minutes, and every interaction was negative. I ultimately hired a different lawyer who was experienced, attentive, and empathetic—qualities that Ms. Gregorchik sorely lacked. Additionally, she tried to schedule the court hearing via Zoom, which was against my wishes. She was more concerned about avoiding the drive to my county than representing me in person as I requested. It was clear to me that she did not prioritize my case or my concerns. While she may have passed the bar, that alone does not make her a competent or dedicated attorney. I strongly recommend seeking alternative representation if you are dealing with a sensitive issue like child custody. My experience was entirely negative, and I hope others can avoid the same frustrations.

Mr Edwards tried to coerce a friend of mine into taking a ridiculous plea deal based off of charges filed with no evidence. He then told me I am insane for trying to convince him to do take the time to file a bond reduction. He has no interest in his clients well being. Beware of this man. He will call you names and cuss at you just for providing him with information on the case that he is too lazy to investigate. I’d give him a zero if I could.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Please don’t go to this lawyer... my custody case took just over a year and he didn’t even try. He told me he was going to get evidence and never did. Totally unprepared which caused me to lose my case. Kind of a jerk too. I was dealing with another case and had a no contact order until it was settled and I was going back and forth between the 2 lawyers and never got it lifted. Honestly so lazy. I wouldn’t recommend him to my worst enemy. Only okay thing was he was cheap. But you get what you pay for.

This woman had a bias against me from day 1 based on a lie that my ex told her. My ex is not stupid and clearly looked Rosemarie up on Facebook to realize what is important to her. She then formulated a lie so that Rosemarie would be against me from day 1. She never looked back. She continuously treated me like the bad guy throughout the year we were forced to work with her as our ad litem. I never stood a chance at maintaining the 50/50 time I had for 7 years prior. She ignored proof of emotional, mental, and physical abuse that my ex had subjected my daughter to all because of a personal bias against me. Rosemarie was out to get me just as much as my ex. Siewert was hired to handle my case in 2013. From the very beginning he was unresponsive. I had several concerns but I tried very hard to work with him and have faith in his abilities. If you are currently in this situation with him, please learn from me. It almost cost me my freedom. In the end (2015), I fired Siewert due to his inability to execute and create a cohesive, well thought-out defense. I was absolutely terrified to see how he would perform in trial considering all of his poorly written motions he created and his inability to effectively negotiate with the prosecutor during Pre-trial Hearings. If you have a serious legal matter, this is NOT the attorney for you.

Its not his fault you got hacked and now all your sensitive info is on the internet for all to see. Sounds like a case of petty revenge for embarrassing them by exposing the true extent of the data breach. Which they were obviously hoping to sweep under the rug or else the mayor wouldn't have came up with the whole lame data is corrupted or encrypted so its useless lie. 🤦‍♂️

What a Criminal Defense Lawyer Can Do for You

A criminal defense lawyer provides legal representation to individuals or organizations accused of criminal conduct. If you're facing criminal charges, a defense lawyer will work to protect your rights, build a defense strategy, and ensure you receive a fair trial. Their primary goal is to reduce or dismiss charges, secure an acquittal, or negotiate a favorable plea deal.

Criminal defense lawyers have extensive knowledge of criminal law and court procedures. They investigate your case, identify weaknesses in the prosecution's evidence, and represent you in court, ensuring that you have the best possible defense.

When Should I Hire a Criminal Defense Lawyer?

It’s crucial to hire a criminal defense lawyer as soon as possible if you are facing any criminal charges. Some situations in which you should seek legal representation include:

  • Arrest or police questioning: If you've been arrested or are under investigation, hiring a lawyer early on can prevent self-incrimination and protect your rights during police questioning.
  • Felony charges: Crimes such as murder, assault, drug trafficking, or robbery carry severe penalties, including long prison sentences. A defense lawyer is essential in these cases.
  • Misdemeanor charges: Even for less serious offenses like DUI, theft, or simple assault, a lawyer can help reduce penalties, negotiate alternatives to jail, or get charges dismissed.
  • Plea negotiations: If you’re considering a plea bargain, a lawyer can evaluate the deal, advise you on its consequences, and negotiate for more favorable terms.
  • Probation or parole violations: If you’ve been accused of violating probation or parole, a lawyer can defend you against additional penalties or revocation.
  • Juvenile offenses: For minors charged with criminal acts, a criminal defense lawyer can protect their future by minimizing legal repercussions or keeping the case in juvenile court.

What Does a Criminal Defense Lawyer Do?

Criminal defense lawyers provide comprehensive legal services to protect their clients’ rights throughout the criminal justice process. Their duties include:

  • Case evaluation and investigation: Reviewing the evidence, interviewing witnesses, and investigating the facts to develop a strong defense strategy.
  • Legal advice: Advising you on your rights, the charges you’re facing, and potential defense strategies, including whether to take a plea deal or go to trial.
  • Negotiating plea bargains: Working with prosecutors to negotiate a plea deal that could reduce charges or minimize penalties.
  • Court representation: Representing you in all court hearings, including bail hearings, pretrial motions, trials, and sentencing hearings.
  • Filing motions: Filing motions to dismiss charges, suppress evidence, or reduce bail, depending on the specifics of your case.
  • Trial preparation and defense: Preparing a defense strategy and presenting arguments, evidence, and witnesses during trial to contest the prosecution's case.
  • Appeals: If you are convicted, a defense lawyer can appeal the conviction or sentence, arguing errors in the trial process or legal rulings.

How Are Criminal Defense Lawyers Paid?

Criminal defense lawyers generally charge clients in one of three ways, depending on the complexity of the case and the lawyer’s experience. Payment structures include:

  • Flat fee: For straightforward cases (e.g., minor misdemeanors), some lawyers charge a one-time flat fee that covers all aspects of the defense.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex or ongoing cases, lawyers may charge by the hour, with rates varying based on the lawyer’s experience and geographic location.
  • Retainer fee: In cases where extensive work is expected, the client may pay a retainer fee upfront. The lawyer then bills against that retainer for their work on the case.

The cost of criminal defense services can vary greatly, so it’s important to discuss fees during your initial consultation.

How Much Does a Criminal Defense Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a criminal defense lawyer depends on several factors, including the severity of the charges, the complexity of the case, and the lawyer’s experience. General cost guidelines are:

  • Misdemeanor cases: For relatively minor offenses, such as a DUI or petty theft, a flat fee may range from $1,500 to $5,000.
  • Felony cases: More serious charges, such as assault or drug trafficking, can range from $10,000 to $100,000 or more, depending on the complexity and duration of the case.
  • Hourly rates: For cases billed by the hour, lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on their expertise and the case's location.
  • Additional expenses: You may also be responsible for other costs, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, or the cost of private investigators.

Be sure to clarify the lawyer’s fee structure and any potential additional costs during your consultation.

Top Questions to Ask a Criminal Defense Lawyer

Before hiring a criminal defense lawyer, you’ll want to ensure that they’re a good fit for your case. Here are key questions to ask:

  1. What is your experience with cases like mine?
Make sure the lawyer has a strong track record with the specific type of criminal charges you’re facing, whether it’s DUI, drug offenses, or violent crimes.
  2. What is your fee structure?
Ask how the lawyer charges for their services and whether you’ll be responsible for any additional costs.
  3. What are the potential outcomes of my case?
A good lawyer should provide an honest assessment of your case and the likelihood of dismissal, a plea bargain, or conviction.
  4. How many cases have you taken to trial?
While many criminal cases settle with a plea deal, it’s important to hire a lawyer with courtroom experience in case your case goes to trial.
  5. Who will handle my case?
Ask if the lawyer will be personally involved or if other attorneys in the firm will handle most of the work.
  6. How do you communicate with your clients?
Be clear on how often and through what channels you can expect updates on your case.

How to Check the Credibility of a Criminal Defense Lawyer

To verify the credibility of a criminal defense lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check their standing with the state bar: Confirm that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state’s bar association. Look for any past disciplinary actions or complaints.
  • Read online reviews and testimonials: Platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google can provide insights from previous clients about the lawyer’s communication, professionalism, and case outcomes.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should have past clients or other professionals who can speak to their competence and work ethic.
  • Review their case history: Look at the lawyer’s website or professional profile to see their experience with criminal cases, including high-profile or complex cases.
  • Look for trial experience: If your case might go to trial, make sure the lawyer has a strong history of courtroom advocacy and success.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your first consultation with a criminal defense lawyer, bring the following:

  • Details of your case: Be prepared to provide a detailed account of the charges against you, including any documents related to your arrest, police reports, and court dates.
  • Criminal history: If you have any prior criminal convictions, inform your lawyer so they can understand how that may affect your current case.
  • List of witnesses or evidence: If there are any potential witnesses or evidence that may support your defense, share this information during the consultation.
  • Questions for the lawyer: Prepare questions about their experience, legal strategy, and fees to ensure you understand how they will handle your case.
  • Bail or release documents: If you’ve been released on bail, bring any paperwork related to your release conditions or restrictions.

By being well-prepared, you can help your lawyer quickly assess your situation and begin building an effective defense strategy.
