A little under two years ago I was pulled over and arrested for possession of marijuana over 4OZ under 5LB and possession of controlled substance over 2G under 4G.
I was in a tough situation and I had made the mistake of having my family in the car and that only piled on more with CPS coming in to play.
I had never been arrested and when I was charged I was told I could be looking at 2 to 10 years in the federal penitentiary and a fine of no less than $2000 and up to $10000.
I thought I was dead in the water.
I didn't know the slightest of what to do or where to go for help.
I went to about 5 lawyers before I consulted with Paul.
Let me tell you, he definitely put my mind at ease informing me that there was little to no chance I would go to the pen, although not all situations are the same and he did say there's always a possibility he was confident in telling me that there would be no jail time involved.
That was a blessing!
I have 2 jobs and a family to support at home and neither them or I could afford for me to go to jail.
Due to Covid-19 my case was pushed back further and further and finally the DA offered me a deal 6 years deferred.
Paul said no way in hell we are taking that deal.
I had no priors! He fought and fought and fought and got it down to 4 years and only 1800 in fines (Plus probation fees and UA's) but that's standard on a drug charge. You have no Idea of how good of a deal that is for a 3rd degree felony.
He was there for me through the whole process and even after I took the plea he was still there to help me out with the process.
I give 100% approval/recommendation of having Paul represent you.

Jim Burnham is a tremendous lawyer who cares about and protects his clients! He represented me on charges of felony theft and worked incredibly hard on my case with the prosecutor. In the end, instead of prison time, Jim got me probation with no conviction, with no fine, no restitution, and no community service. The only thing I have to do now is send in a probation sheet every month.

Russ, Michelle and their office staff assisted me in resolving a complicated felony DWI case. Let me just say, this was the most stressful time of my entire life; when you have a pending legal charge, you spend every day in limbo- feeling scared and uneasy about what the future may or may not hold. I am unsure if I could have made it through those months without the help of their office. As a local business owner and single parent, my life was completely chaotic, even before this added stressor. Russ and Michelle were incredibly knowledgeable, easy to talk to, reassuring and FAST; if I had any question, I could always just shoot over an email and expect a response within hours, sometimes minutes. Let’s start with the short version:
•I was stopped by police in the early morning hours on a Saturday and arrested in Harris County for a first-offense DWI.
•I hired Mr. Ruiz on Wednesday morning ahead of a Friday court hearing.

I found myself in an unfortunate situation facing a felony and a misdemeanor charge both of which were my first criminal offenses. Initially I didn’t know where to turn; so I googled Criminal Attorney Houston, Texas. I called dozens of attorney’s on the list but none of them made me feel confident they could get both charges dismissed, additionally almost all wanted to charge me upwards of $25,000 or more for both cases.

Jim is hands-down the best lawyer . My son got himself into a mess of trouble, was facing some real prison time for heavy charges due to stupid actions. Jim not only saved him from prison, but his expertise got his charges reduced to a misdemeanor with probation. Of course lack of responsibility my son did not meet Probation because he was not ready to turn his back on his lifestyle. Needless to say after multiple adjustments and Jim going to the judge, he got probation dropped and he was assigned community service work detail. The boy messed that up too, and now We are back with Jim working for another outcome. I am confident Jim will work this out for his good, And hopefully the boy will get it done this time.

I highly recommend Winocour law if you are ever in an auto accident. I was first introduced to Jonathon Winocour about 20 years ago when my sister was hit by a drunk driver. He handled her case against him. Jonathon Winocour won my sister the full settlement. A couple years later I was in an auto accident which lead to serious spinal injury. All thanks to Mr. Pete Schulte! Never having been in a predicament with the law, I was incredibly sacred and nervous when I walked into Mr. Schulte's office for my initial meeting. However, I walked out feeling relieved. He assured me of his goal to have my case dismissed, all while making it clear what to expect in any event. I was charged with a domestic violence felony for defending myself. Paul got the charges dropped. He is an excellent lawyer and seems to know just about everyone from the judges to the prosecutors to the bailiffs. He even came up to the jail to bail me out on a Saturday morning when he would have otherwise been relaxing at home with his family. Took several months from start to finish but that is the nature of the beast.

Katie Gomez was my attorney in 2018. She was able to get my criminal sentence down to a 2 year probation and 25 hours community service. My case would be esponge as long as I do not get any additional charges during my probation. They kept me up to date with everything regarding my case in a timer manner. PAY ATTENTION!!!!! I reached out to King because he had good reviews. He literally was the first & only lawyer I reached out to (also the 1st one that popped up..lol) thank GOD! We payed him a consult Fee due to how far he had to travel but ended up not needing to hire him because the case was dismissed. Mr. King is a stellar attorney!! I consulted Jeff when I was made to show cause for false official statement and fraternization and was immediately impressed by him. I unfortunately got arrested for my 2nd DWI and it was within 5 years of my 1st which is mandatory jail time in the state of Texas. Super scary! I was originally using another attorney who was totally dropping the ball, so I was referred to Michelle Mays. She was an absolute blessing! You would think there would be some delays or hick-ups since she was brought in the middle of my case, but that wasn’t the situation at all. She didn’t skip a beat! My case actually moved along quicker and more seamlessly immediately after hiring her. She actually had my DWI reduced so that it only shows a first DWI offense on my record. This meant ZERO JAIL TIME! Furthermore, I was in a bad accident a couple years ago so she was able to have ALL MY FINES REMOVED! Which saved me thousands of dollars! She is so personable with not only her client, but with all the court officers and personnel. You can tell she has developed strong relationships with all the judges and prosecutors which is probably why she can negotiate so well with them.
