When it comes to a bad woman trying to destroy a good man, in a marriage for instance, this attorney is not strong or capable enough to help. It don't matter if the wife has had sexual relations with another woman in front of her children and her children telling people about it. This is a attorney that takes money and backs out. In a case related to Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, they are as good as her lawyers. Cases like this I would stay away from this attorney. DANBORN IS A SCAM, HE TOOK ALL THE MONEY AND SUBMITTED NOTHING TO THE COURT SO THE CASE WOULD BE LOST!!! BE CAREFUL!!!

This Law firm is a joke! On Christmas Eve our Apartment flooded because our landlord didn’t insulate the pipe they repaired. Despite ruining our Christmas Day, New years and damaging our electronics, etc . We were told yesterday that we need to clean out our apartment and vacate it entirely so that they can renovate it this Saturday after we paid our rent January 1st. Our Apartment complex is not helping us with our damages or a hotel room or anything. I reached out to this law firm for help and they told me that they’re not taking any New tenant/landlord cases, to go to some bar association. Which we don’t qualify for because it’s for low income individuals. Some help! We’re literally going to lose all of our belongings and become homeless until our renters insurance put us in a hotel after we pay our deductible for 500$ and we find another place to live. None of this is our fault yet we’re the only ones coming out of our pockets to fix the issue the apartment caused. this law firm is a joke! picking and choosing which cases they want. They’re not helpful at all.

The Harris Law Firm – Best in Class. I had the privilege of being represented by Erika Brotzman and her paralegal, Joyce Moore, in a post-divorce legal case brought by my ex-spouse. I’m pleased to share that the entire case was dismissed in my favor. From the very beginning, Erika approached the case with remarkable strategy and professionalism. She meticulously analyzed every detail, crafting a defense that left no stone unturned. Her legal acumen, combined with her calm and confident demeanor in the courtroom, was instrumental in securing a positive outcome (from mediation to the courtroom). Erika also played devil's advocate with me to ensure I was fully prepared, which was essential in achieving the favorable result. What stood out the most was her ability to transform a stressful situation into one where I felt truly heard and supported. She not only kept me informed throughout the process but also skillfully anticipated and countered the opposing party's claims with precision and expertise. If you're looking for a lawyer who genuinely cares about her clients and delivers results, I cannot recommend Erika and her paralegal Joyce enough. Erika is a legal powerhouse and the reason I can move forward with peace of mind. Thank you, Erika, for your incredible work and dedication!

Harris Law Firm has done a wonderful job on my divorce. I would like to thank Kim Gent and her paralegal Maureen McAllister for all the hard work they have done. Dealing with the back and forth with the petitioner and their attorney and really paying attention and handling the responses from the petitioner, her attorney. I was really glad that Kim and Maureen got them to settle out of court to where we wouldn't have to make an appearance. I am still working with Kim and Maureen because there are some other things the petitioner still has to sign and get notarized. I like that they still want to help until every little things are completely done. Even though the divorce is over and I don't want to have any contact with the petitioner, and they understand that. Kim and Maureen have always listened to me and gave their opinion and figure out our strategy on how to approach the situation. If you ever need a great attorney and Paralegal call Harris Law Firm and ask for attorney Kim Gent and Paralegal Maureen McAllister they are the best.

I recently contracted with this firm for an HOA dispute. During the consultation, the attorney said we couldnt litigate it due to language in our HOA rules. The billing after the initial consultation took advantage of us and I will never recommend this firm to any colleagues, friends or family members. We were told that our consultation fees should cover most of the letter that we agreed on to have sent out. We were asked to put a deposit of $1500 for potential negotiations with our HOA after the letter process. No negotiations took place and we were charged over 2K for a letter that we basically gave all the information to supply. After we were denied to negotiate from the receivers of this letter, the attorney told us that if we wanted to sue, they would send us to litigation. But I thought we couldn't sue? They phoned it in and then had the audacity to charge us for asking a question about the billing on top of that. If we were originally told one letter would cost us over $2600 we would have never retained their services.

Couldn’t recommend Brian at Baker Law more if I tried! He took the time to explain the steps I would need to take in the future so that I’m not floundering the moment I lose a loved one, or feel lost in where to start first. He took the time to listen to my situation with zero judgement. He was very honest, and knowledgeable, and never once tried to “sell” me on a service I wouldn’t need. Highly highly recommend!

I met Mr Eldridge 30yrs ago at the time he handled 3 cases did excellent job. Recently, I was represented by Wade Eldridge in a court case where I was falsely accused and was facing three years in jail. I felt betrayed scared and small up again such accusations. Wade Not only took my case and helped me through this trying situation. He showed compassion and heartfelt case for me as a person he became my protector. He was there for me in my difficulties like no one else was, and he fought hard to bring me justice and defend my innocence, all through this he rest assured me that he would be there for me and give me his best effort, even though he had many other cases I always felt that I was important to him and he is going to save me as it all turned out he did be protecting me so very well that I was given no jail time at all, and even after the case Was ended he pursuing some injustice he discovered on my behalf. I have a friend who is a retired assistant US attorney who went ahead to head with Wade in federal court, and even though they were on opposite sides, my friend said he had great respect for the way Wade represented his clients if you find yourself in need of a strong man to defend you and your troubles, this person who is free because of his devotion and Care highly recommends that you enlist Wade Eldridge as your champion, he will immerse himself in your case if you are his only one he will fight For you. I went to see a handful of lawyers about this and it didn’t feel right until I met Wade. Wade took the time to explain the process we would go through in detail. Wade & his paralegal Dawn are absolutely awesome. Dawn is unbelievable at organizing things and requesting what she needs from you. I don’t know how she keeps it all together. I am giving this review of Brandon Campbell not only as a current client, but as a fellow professional for whom I have referred several of my clients to him for his service....I am a Wealth Advisor / Financial Advisor. This is my experience, and the experience of countless clients who have hired him for his professional services: Firstly, let me say that anytime we research and read testimonials for professionals, we have an obligation to be objective...to be careful to filter out what true service and satisfaction is for real ability and service rendered VS. what may be emotional outbursts from others; fabrications, and/or simply patchworks of opinion where the casting of blame or dissatisfaction may prove to have possibly been misplaced. I will speak factually about the experiences I have personally had, and of which, have been reported back to me directly by several of my clients. Brandon Campbell comes to the table with a wealth of knowledge in regards to the law that he practices. He has an enormous amount of intellect, yet carries himself professionally with such humility and grace. My own personal estate planning was due for a major overhaul, which included the development of various trusts. One of the things I appreciate the MOST about Brandon, is that he goes above and beyond the act of developing legal documents. He takes his attention to detail to the next level. He covers every base. He asks the right questions to make sure we are creating the right vehicles, and lastly, he takes steps to make sure my estate planning vehicles are funded, titled and beneficiary-labeled correctly. I have NEVER had an attorney take that much personal ownership of the process. I appreciate that he takes his time to really get to know not only the legal need my family has, but the complexities that surround our particular lifestyle and protection-planning concerns. In addition to my own testimonial, I must confess that every single client I have inquired with in regards to their experience with him has reflected these consistent sentiments. It is absolutely critical to my own practice that I only refer clients to professionals I can trust, and of whom have proven their commitment, ability, knowledge, and character. All of these qualities and behaviors are reflected in who Brandon Campbell is as an attorney. I appreciate all that he does to help his clients get what they need. He is honest, sincere, educational, and yet, he's not afraid to tell clients what they truly need to hear. There are so many attorneys out there who are simply out to say what they think their perspective clients want to hear. Brandon is true to his commitment to delivery honest, thorough, comprehensive, tailored legal solutions to his clients, and he settles for nothing less. THANK YOU Brandon, for being the attorney you are. My clients and I are truly grateful. And I am confident that those in search of an attorney who will be their powerhouse...their confidant...their strongest resource, will agree with me.

I have worked with Brandon Campbell as legal counsel during the formation, implementation, and continued execution of two non-profit corporations in Denver. Knowledgeable, Professional, Responsive, Efficient, Clear communication, Friendly. I have several issues with my rental building. They made several promises to me that they didn't follow through and the building and services are not up to the expected and advertised standards. Although I have very slim chances to get a positive outcome or win any case against them, I reached out for attorneys to help me. Most of the firms turned me away without even looking/hearing about the "possible" case. Megan not only listened to my case, but she also was very knowledgeable about the law and explained to me in a very clear and detailed way all the options I had. Against all odds of getting any positive outcomes, Megan worked through my case to get a positive response and agreement from the rental company. I would recommend her and the firm for any case or consultation and will definitely contact her if I need attorney services in the future.

We reached out to Lyda Law to help with a spurious damage claim from a rental car company. Megan and team asked the right questions, made sure they understood the details and what our desired outcome was. Her letter to the rental car company was "pitch perfect." She even uncovered an inconsistency in their own record-keeping that we had not even noticed, which further solidified our position that their claim was unsubstantiated. Thanks to her attention to detail and her skilled reasoning, the rental car company rescinded their claim. Highly recommend Megan and the team at Lyda Law - they do great work.

As a financial advisor who deeply cares for my clients' needs, I reached out to Stone Law, LLC to inquire about their estate planning services in the Grand Junction, Colorado, area. Unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfactory. My initial call was disconnected by a representative named Casey, which was frustrating. On my second attempt, I spoke with Sarah, who was very professional and courteous. However, when I asked for additional information, I didn't receive much help. Moreover, I was not given any timeframe for when my clients could potentially meet with the firm, which is crucial for planning purposes. Overall, I didn't feel that Stone Law, LLC was interested in accommodating new clients. As a fiduciary who prioritizes my clients' best interests, this lack of attention and assistance was disappointing.

I thought it was pretty unprofessional when I was called back by someone in the office (paralegal?) to demand my business after telling them I was more comfortable with another attorney. Is it your company's policy to berate potential clients and attempt to bully them into working with your firm? This attitude may have worked decades ago but it shows how out of touch your law office is with the times. Typical ambulance chaser behavior.

I had two different law firms prior to coming to Heckenback Law. My case was a complete mess, and I had about lost all faith that there was anything I could do in the courts to get things to change. Dave and Ian turned my case around, albeit over a few years, starting with winning an appeal that had a very low chance of success. They then systematically continued to get small victories of facts and truth over deception and fraud. Eventually things flipped and I was able to turn everything around, for the sake of the kids and their futures as much as my own. My biggest regret with hiring them is that I didn’t do it from the start of my case.

When I first met Ryan, I was a bit taken back. He is not what I expected when I heard the term, "Public Defender." Ryan looks more like an East Coast Club Bouncer or maybe a moto-cross racer? But do not be confused. This guy is the real deal. His father is also an attorney with over 30 years of legal experience. From the way that Ryan performs in court, there is no doubt that apples have seeds. I would consider Ryan one of the top attorneys in the Stevens Point area. He is young, aggressive, passionate and extremely smart. Did I say that his father is also an attorney with over 30 years of legal experience and lives close to Ryan? Ryan is a second generation attorney with nearly a lifetime of legal experience. And he is under 30!!! Ryan is only available by appointment from the Public Defenders Office in Portage County. I am a real and actual client. In fact, I was his very first client. You know what it is!!

Shelley Thompson was hired to help my 84-year old mother to update her estate planning documents. At an initial consultation, preliminary decisions were discussed. However, upon further reflection, my mother desired material changes. Per my mother's request, I asked Shelley to incorporate these changes into the first-draft plan. Shelley sent a first draft of the estate plan completely that ignored my mother's requested changes. Instead, Shelly scheduled a signing meeting. My mother requested my presence at the signing meeting to help her understand things that were very complex and overwhelming to her and to help ensure her desires were reflected in the plan. In the signing meeting, Shelly attempted to make changes to the plan to reflect my mother's desires. However, my mother was at times overwhelmed and confused and still unclear about some key decision points. Points of uncertainty for my mother included material decisions including who to choose as Trustee and Durable Power of Attorney. To my surprise, instead of encouraging us to take the time to be very clear about very important life decisions, Shelley strongly pressured my mother to sign on that day. Shelley had a strong opinion about how certain parts of the plan should look, and at times discouraged open discussion about alternatives. Instead of offering counsel on how to gain clarity on key decisions, and contrary to my advice to avoid rushing, Shelley pushed my mother to make final decisions in the meeting and to sign the documents immediately, Shelley seemed to me to be more interested in getting something signed hastily than ensuring that my mother and her family were clear and confident. Knowing that I (as her son and attorney-in-fact) had very strong reservations, Shelly nonetheless pressed forward and got my mother to sign documents in the meeting. When voicing my concerns with my mother during the meeting in an attempt to make sure she understood what she was signing with crystal clarity, Shelley became defensive and insisted she knew best without asking clarifying questions. She did a terrible job of presenting options and seemed to do the bare minimum based on things my mom knew to ask--instead of helping her understand what needed to be in place. In my opinion, this is a cookie cutter service designed to get people in and out without taking individual care for the people involved. This was a radically different and exceptionally disappointing experience compared to the firm I recently used to obtain my own estate docs.

Shelley is an excellent attorney. She is that rare person who really takes the time to listen and help and take the "legal" speak out of things. My father passed away unexpectedly and we reached out to Shelley for help. She made a very hard and emotional time for my mom much easier to navigate through. Shelley has made something that the normal person doesn't do every day, easier to handle. She also helped my elderly mother understand what needs to be accomplished for her will, not just financially, but also from a health standpoint. I trust Shelley and highly recommend her.

Shelly is compassionate lawyer. She was there when we need an advisor to help us with our medical power of attorneys and set up our estate planning with trust for our children. At the time I had just been diagnosed with cancer and was a wreck. I knew with a blended family it would be complicated. When Shelly was done I felt confident that my wishes and my family would be taken care of no matter what the outcome would be. Shelly helped me feel in control when everything around me felt out of control. She was kind and patient. I consider her not only a great attorney but a friend.

Liz Kearney helped me during one of the most stressful and emotional time of my life when enduring employment discrimination and hostile work environment issues within a government entity. She was always professional, dedicated, trustworthy, and represented my case with integrity and drive. I was very satisfied with the outcome of my case, mostly because to Liz, I was a person and not just a case number. She listened to me when I desired to bring forth evidence and information to support my claims and she fought for me in my own drive for acknowledgment and justice. I highly recommend attorney Liz Kearney. Her intelligence, perseverance, knowledge of the laws, and refusal to be intimidated by high power agencies and personnel was very much appreciated during such a traumatic time.

What an Estate Planning Lawyer Can Do for You

An estate planning lawyer helps individuals plan for the management and distribution of their assets after death or during incapacitation. Their services involve drafting important legal documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives. Estate planning attorneys work to ensure that your assets are transferred according to your wishes, minimize tax liabilities, and avoid probate court. They also help clients plan for potential long-term care needs and protect their estate from being diminished by healthcare costs.

By working with an estate planning lawyer, you can have peace of mind knowing that your loved ones will be cared for and that your estate will be managed efficiently and according to your desires.

When Should I Hire an Estate Planning Lawyer?

Hiring an estate planning lawyer is beneficial in many situations, especially when you want to ensure that your assets are handled properly after death. Common reasons to hire an estate planning lawyer include:

  • Drafting a will: If you want to clearly define how your assets will be distributed after death, an attorney can draft a legally sound will.
  • Creating a trust: For those looking to avoid probate or provide for loved ones over time, setting up a trust can help manage the distribution of assets.
  • Planning for incapacity: An estate lawyer can help draft powers of attorney and healthcare directives so that your financial and medical decisions are made by someone you trust if you become incapacitated.
  • Minimizing estate taxes: If your estate is large, a lawyer can help create strategies to reduce or eliminate federal and state estate taxes.
  • Special circumstances: If you have minor children, blended families, or complex assets like businesses, an estate planning lawyer can create tailored solutions.
  • Guardianship or conservatorship: If you want to designate guardians for minor children or ensure proper care for incapacitated adults, an attorney can help.

Hiring an estate planning lawyer is especially important if your estate is complex or if you want to ensure that your wishes are properly followed.

What Does an Estate Planning Lawyer Do?

An estate planning lawyer provides a range of services designed to help you organize your affairs and ensure your estate is managed according to your wishes. They can:

  • Draft wills and trusts: Creating legally binding documents that dictate how your assets will be distributed and managed.
  • Create powers of attorney and healthcare directives: Appointing someone to make financial or medical decisions for you if you become incapacitated.
  • Minimize taxes: Developing strategies to reduce estate taxes, gift taxes, and other financial liabilities for your heirs.
  • Help avoid probate: Structuring your estate plan to avoid probate, which can save time and money for your beneficiaries.
  • Advise on long-term care planning: Helping you plan for potential healthcare needs in the future, including Medicaid planning and protecting assets from being depleted by nursing home costs.
  • Assist with beneficiary designations: Ensuring that life insurance policies, retirement accounts, and other financial instruments are correctly designated.
  • Handle probate and estate administration: If a loved one has passed away, an estate planning lawyer can help guide you through the probate process or act as an executor.

How Are Estate Planning Lawyers Paid?

Estate planning lawyers typically charge for their services in one of several ways, depending on the complexity of your estate and the type of services you need. Common payment structures include:

  • Flat fee: Many estate planning services, such as drafting a will or trust, are charged on a flat-fee basis. The fee covers all work related to preparing the document.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex planning, such as estate tax strategy or trust administration, lawyers may charge by the hour. Rates vary based on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Retainer: Some lawyers require a retainer for more complex cases, such as ongoing trust management or estate administration. The retainer is an upfront payment that covers future legal services.

It’s important to discuss fees with your lawyer upfront to avoid unexpected costs.

How Much Does an Estate Planning Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring an estate planning lawyer depends on the complexity of your estate and the services you require. Here are some general guidelines:

  • Simple wills or powers of attorney: A straightforward will or power of attorney may cost between $300 and $1,500, depending on your location and the lawyer’s experience.
  • Trust creation: Establishing a trust, such as a living trust or revocable trust, can cost between $1,000 and $3,000 or more, depending on the complexity of your assets and estate planning needs.
  • Comprehensive estate planning packages: Some lawyers offer packages that include wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives, which may range from $2,000 to $5,000 or more, depending on the estate’s complexity.
  • Hourly rates: For ongoing services like estate administration or tax planning, lawyers may charge hourly rates ranging from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience.

Always get a clear estimate of costs during your initial consultation to ensure the services fit within your budget.

Top Questions to Ask an Estate Planning Lawyer

Before hiring an estate planning lawyer, it’s important to ask questions to ensure they are the right fit for your needs. Here are key questions to ask during your consultation:

  1. What is your experience with estate planning?
Ensure the lawyer has substantial experience drafting wills, creating trusts, and handling other estate planning services.
  2. How will you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges a flat fee or by the hour and ask for a detailed estimate of costs.
  3. What strategies do you recommend for my estate?
A good lawyer should be able to explain the best strategies for minimizing taxes, avoiding probate, and ensuring your assets are distributed according to your wishes.
  4. How often should I update my estate plan?
Ask how frequently you should revisit your estate plan, especially if your financial situation or family dynamics change.
  5. Do you offer ongoing support or updates?
Some lawyers provide periodic reviews or updates to ensure your estate plan stays current with changes in your circumstances or the law.
  6. How will you help my beneficiaries if something happens to me?
Ensure the lawyer is willing to guide your heirs through the estate administration process or help manage your trust after you’re gone.

How to Check the Credibility of an Estate Planning Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a credible estate planning lawyer, follow these steps:

  • Verify their state bar license: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing, with no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for estate planning certifications: Some lawyers are certified as estate planning specialists, which indicates they have extensive knowledge in this area of law.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Online reviews on sites like Avvo, Google, or Martindale-Hubbell can provide insight into the lawyer’s professionalism and client satisfaction.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be able to provide references from previous clients who can speak to their expertise and client service.
  • Check for membership in professional organizations: Lawyers who are members of organizations like the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) or the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) often have a strong reputation in the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first meeting with an estate planning lawyer, it’s important to come prepared. Here’s what you should bring:

  • List of assets and liabilities: Provide a detailed inventory of your assets, including real estate, bank accounts, retirement funds, investments, and personal property, as well as any debts you may have.
  • List of beneficiaries: Be ready to discuss who you want to receive your assets and in what proportions. This includes naming guardians for minor children if applicable.
  • Existing estate documents: Bring copies of any existing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, or other relevant estate planning documents.
  • Questions about your estate goals: Write down your goals, such as avoiding probate, reducing taxes, or setting up charitable donations, so your lawyer can tailor a plan to meet your needs.
  • Information on medical and financial decision-makers: Be prepared to discuss who you want to appoint for healthcare and financial decisions if you become incapacitated.

By being well-prepared, you can ensure a productive consultation and begin building a comprehensive estate plan that meets your needs and protects your loved ones.
