I found Mr. Abbott to be very professional during the course of my divorce process. He is a no-nonsense person who is very upfront about what to expect during this emotionally painful undertaking. He was also very compassionate and caring about the dissolution of my marriage. His staff was more than willing to help with any questions that I might have had and they responded quickly to my inquiries. The cost was more than fair as well. I was wrongfully accused of a Title IX infraction. Marc is an exceptional listener and possesses the innate ability to ascertain facts from friction. After discussing my situation, Marc walked me through the Title IX process and explained how we should address the issue. Marc assisted in drafting a response letter to the adjudicate and coached me leading up to the interview. In the end, the accusation was not a Title IX issue, and flaws and false accusations in the claimant's testimony surfaced in which the case was ruled in my favor. I would not have known how to respond and properly defend myself without Marc’s assistance. Finally, Marc was always responsive and his fee for service was reasonable. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Marc; but I will give my best attempt for anyone going through challenging and distressful legal matters to completely give him your trust!!! I truly did not believe my case would result in being COMPLETELY DISMISSED, and somehow Marc was able to get it done!!!!!
Filtering through my options of attorneys, Marc gave me the best offer of anyone and had my interest even more when he told me he was previously a prosecutor for several years.
I just followed everything Marc guided me to do. He constantly walked me through everything every time we met. The justice system is certainly intimidating, and he made the experience simple from the beginning. He explained what was happening, every outcome and exactly how they came to be, what things to expect, what things to prepare for and how to prepare for them.
Facing a number of F1 charges, getting caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, I was anticipating that I'd have to do probation in the VERY least. Getting my case dismissed entirely still seems unfathomably unbelievable to me, and I am infinitely grateful for everything Marc was able to do for me. The weight of relief I feel is inconceivable! I hired Marc Chavez for a Title XI case I was named a Respondent for. To put it briefly, he was incredible. He was present at all of my interviews with investigators and provided me with useful legal counsel throughout the entire process. Marc without a doubt is in a class of his own. On the day of our hearing, the Complainant tried pulling a fast one on us by having a surprise witness show up to testify against me. Marc handled the situation amazingly. He managed to stay calm and continue to present our case in a clear and concise manner. If you find yourself being falsely accused of violating Title XI policies at your university, Marc Chavez will be key to your exoneration. I cannot recommend him enough.

Mr. Villareal is very knowledgeable and professional. He was able to explain and help me better understand a revised Marketing Non-Compete Agreement at my yearly evaluation. My initial agreement went from 2 pages to 6 pages.
He was readily available or returned my calls/emails in a timely manner. I never had an issue communicating and conversing with him.
I had a meeting with my employer to speak about the changes and there was no room for compromise. At the end of the day I was able to make a more informed decision about my future with my employer.

I call Mr. Villarreal on some advice on a character letter for a family member and he went over and beyond to help me with it. I actually call him 8pm. We talk about the family issue and he told me to go ahead and write down what we talk about the family member he told to email it to him and he would look over it on early morning. Kendall Goetz did a wonderful job on my child support case. I went to her with only a week until final trial, because my original attorney in the case was not working in my families overall best interest (I felt). That attorney was costing me more then I truly believe it should have...time and money was being wasted while the case was getting off track from the original filing.
Kendall stepped in and turned it around from ending in a total disaster! I highly recommend her and will more then likely be needing her assistance again in the future.

Ms. Thompson is an amazing lawyer who puts the children/family at the forefront of any agreement or decision. She worked very hard to resolve my issue from what seemed like an impossible situation, to make sure my child's needs were given first priority.
I lost hope after dealing with my previous lawyer and thought that there was no chance of change without going to court because I already had a signed mediated agreement. I am so grateful that I found Pam Thompson and feel she is one of the few lawyers in San Antonio that is upfront about the odds and works with genuine compassion, integrity, and desire to resolve your case in an efficient and ethical manner. She always kept me informed on the status of my case. My child would have suffered needlessly if it were not for her quick actions. She listened to my concerns and did not talk through me as the previously lawyer did. I also feel her billing is fair and much better than my previous lawyer based on the fact that you actually get results!

In a heartbeat I would Hire Mrs. Hightower again! Her work was exemplary. Her and her team are excellent communicators and tell you what she needs from you. Their response time to emails was usually within minutes, occasionally hours during the business week. Emails sent on weekends almost always had a response by 10am the following business day. When working with Mrs. Hightower and her team, I felt like I was a member of the team and not just the “paycheck”. During my time working with her team, I had one emotional reaction to something the other side had done, and her team was professional, courteous, and professional sympathetic during that event.
She does a fantastic job managing expectations and is very clear about what to expect. When I first spoke with Mrs. Hightower, my case was in another county and needed transferring. She said that we could not begin work on the case until it was transferred, and true to her word she got my case transferred and the first hearings scheduled as promptly as possible within the time frame that she predicted. I personally had two hearings with her- Temporary Orders and Final Orders hearings. During Temporary Orders she was honest about what to expect and that I would likely only get temporary custody of one of my three children, but we were trying for all three due to the really high bar we had to reach. This is ultimately what happened. When the other side refused to sign the temporary orders, she was quick to file a motion to admit into record and get signed by the judg. During Final hearings she stated that the bar to meet our desired end state was much lower and had a much higher chance of success given the information, evidence, and testimony. We were granted custody of all three of my children. Through all of it, in every in-person meeting and conference call she was always clear: We can be as prepared as we can be, and its still up to the Judge.
As a Father in Texas, I had a very low probability of being granted custody. I set out with the intent of doing everything Mrs. Hightower asked me to do, providing every document she asked for, and working as a member of the team; this was the best way to be successful - and it worked. If anyone were to ask me what advice to give when working with Mrs. Hightower it is this - be calm, collected, and pro-active. Do everything you can to control your emotions. Provide everything she asks for. Listen to her when she tells you what to expect. Always remember that despite whatever happens, and everything you have done to be successful, it’s still up to the judge. Mrs. Hightower and team (I can’t name you here, but you know who you are), THANK YOU!

I started with an online consultation via zoom, I was assured that I wasn’t alone from start to finish. I wasn’t sure if I needed a lawyer to help my immigration process but she proved me wrong. The law firm of Serifat Adebayo kept me on my toes in providing evidence required to support my case. I was provided with a payment plan that enabled me spread out payment over time. My application was filed in May 2021 and through quality preparation and mock interviews, my interview was slated for December 2021 and I received quality representation at my interview by the firm. By interview was finished by 1pm by 7pm of same day, I received my approval notice! What else could a person desire from a law firm? Other than timely approval? I strongly recommend Serifat Adebayo’s law firm for immigration purposes!

Diana has been an excellent advocate for me in a difficult divorce. She has been more than fair in her costs and done a great job for me in spite of significant difficulties with both my ex wife and opposing counsel.
To contextualize the anonymous one star review from Jan 23, it was left by my ex as a result of her frustration that Ms. Weitzel rejected the original version of the divorce decree sent by opposing counsel. She has very good reasons for doing so, and the claim that she was “slow” was absurd; opposing counsel took 5 months to draft a decree that didn’t even match the MSA, and Diana had to redraft an entire new one from scratch—which she did at no further expense to me, in a matter of just a few weeks, in spite of the frustrating situation. If any Avvo employee sees this, please consider removing the Jan 23 review; it was not left by one of Ms. Weitzel’s clients and completely misrepresents her quality of service for her clients.

Brett Talley handled my divorce with just the right combination of empathy, pragmatism and humor (I needed the last one). Throughout the process of publication I was kept informed and when I was told I would have to 'pay' for a surrogate to represent my runaway husband and make another attempt to contact him I exploded and Bret helped look for alternatives.
Overall, his representation was seamless, informed and always transparent. He was easy to contact, returned phone calls within 24 hours and did not bill for incremental minutes to simply provide a three minute update. He stayed within our established budget, explained fees and costs and his staff with extremely helpful.
My divorce went smoothly and ultimately as I wanted it, as painlessly as was possible under the circumstances.

Robert has been there for me through thick and thin, with excellent knowledge of not only Family Law but Criminal law as well and has never hesitated to answer any questions I have had. She is an extremely talented attorney, I was blessed to have found her and her firm. My court case is still ongoing but our first day in court she kept opposing counsel on his back foot. So much so that after constantly being objected to and having every one be sustained when the time came one was not he carried on as of it was. Truly amazing! She is well prepared in court, she came with everything needed digitally and hard copies in case the judge wanted paper in hand or there happened to be some technical hiccup. She concentrated on what was important to the case now and what could wait for later. So far I've been able to get what I've asked for and managed to keep custody of my 4 children, which were most important to me. We meet with Jennifer for the first time back in 2015! My husband and I were very concerned about the well being of our grandson. He had already survived a head injury when he was only 11 weeks old. My husband an I prayed that God would save him and heal him. He was flown to cook's children's hospital on two separate occasions. First one when he was first admitted to our local hospital and then detected that he was a possible shaken baby and a second time a few days after he was released from cook's children's hospital for seizure disorder. When Life Happens...There is a Court System that you don't understand and a Judge who is a complete stranger to your situation that gets to decide the fate of the rest of your life. Our case was complicated and it went against the grain of what a Texas Family Law Court traditionally will allow.
Over a period of about 6 long months we met with various "The Best" Family Law attorneys....Most wouldn't even take our case - said there's no way we would win. Others said they could WIN OUR CASE without even hearing one word about it. Then there were a few that said they could get close to what we were asking but not all and it would cost us close to $20,000 or maybe even more.
Custody Case Expert, Attorney Terrence Ridgely, answered our initial call 10 pm at night - while he was out with family.
