Scheduled an appointment for consultation and when I received the appointment it was for a phone call.. I arranged my work schedule for that day to take the call at home for privacy as I work in an office of 2000 associates. She had her office to change my appointment time and move it up and I didn’t even get 24 hour notice that she needed to change the time. Then when I could not they attempted to change to the next day like I can just tell my job I am going to run out whenever I want. She then refused the consultation all together . Very unprofessional and rude.

My attorney was everything I had expected. She held the prosecutors accountable to provide relevant evidence/ testimony. She held them to the letter of the law related to hearsay. She was timely with her objections. I felt very confident with my outcome. I know with confidence where I am going to turn for legal representation!👍🏾

Tim gave me a great deal of comfort going into our case. Spent a fair amount of time upfront and followed through with good outreach to the prosecutor. Got lucky with the judge's dismissal, but if that hadn't happened, we had a good plea deal ready to go. Without him, we would have had no palatable follow up plan.

I'm trying to think of what to say that would not sound generic, and all I can really think to say is to thank him for what he did on my behalf. My situation I'm sure was way more than 10 bar for but he stood by me the whole time to the point where there was clearly nothing in it for him. I think Tim is what we all would hope for in an attorney. He definitely went above and beyond for me and my particular situation. Ben Ader and his team worked wonders! After the loss of my wife, my daughters student loan fell into default and a collection agency came after her. (my wife had co-signed her loans) I met with Ben and explained our situation. After he warned me there was zero guarantees, I hired him anyway. Benjamin Ader was able to negotiate with them, dropping our balance to a mere 40% of the balance that was due. His work went far above our expectations, and removed a huge burden for our family. I would highly recommend Benjamin Ader. I originally found Tate Bywater on a Youtube video on negotiating student loans. We contacted the Law Office of James Steele for help with a family member's time sensitive court issue. Within the hour, the incredibly helpful office practice manager had secured an attorney who could be available to take the case right away. We did not know Ms. Henderson before, but the way she attended court and expertly and professionally engaged with the judge, prosecution, and officers, showed her ease and skill in that arena. Every authority in uniform in that courtroom was actually happy to see her. She is clearly considered a professional in high regard. I was surprised at the excellent outcome she was able to secure for my family member. She was calm, kind, and reassuring. While I hope to never have occasion to need an attorney in the future, if we do, Ms. Henderson will be my first call.

I got in my first major car accident last year in November and it was a major blow financially and emotionally for me because it wasn't my fault at all and I had no idea where to turn too for legal help. By the grace of God my fiancee's coworker suggested this law firm for my case because he had such a good experience with them and let me tell you he wasn't lying. Throughout the whole process so far they have been so helpful and nice making this traumatic experience for me so much easier to get through. While recovering from my injury they even sent little care packages! Me and my fiancee thought that was so nice of them, For them to go out of there way to do that for us. I have full confidence in them resolving my case and hopefully this review helps someone else reach out to get the help and compensation they deserve as well. She made negative comments on the phone - towards me and my situation. Her tone of voice was not professional as me being a first time caller looking for Chapter 13 assistance for a “second time”. I went back to my original lawyer Mr. Pecoraro and he did not berate me nor discourage me from a second filing. Told me she charges $1500 because the case would not be worth her time. Ok that’s great. I got my second chapter 13 done for $600 upfront and I didn’t get reprimanded like a child in the process. Professionalism goes a long way. Being kind and not snotty on the phone goes a long way.

I have known Jonathan for over 20 years; he was the first student I had as a drum instructor when I was in college, and I have always liked and had tremendous respect for him. My respect for him as a lawyer is newly acquired, though, and I couldn't be more thankful that I called him! Although I won’t go into detail, I will say that he helped me resolve a terrible situation that could have become a significant burden on my life. By the time I met Jonathan, I had already met with other lawyers and talked to countless people; I was almost convinced that I wasn’t going to be able to find someone who could help me. After meeting with Jon for the first time, I knew I had made the right decision and already felt worlds of weight lifted off my shoulders, and he continued to do that until we went to court. Finding someone you can trust and rely on these days is becoming tougher and tougher, and Jon’s knowledge of his field, his ability to think outside of the box, and the work he puts into making sure the clients are taken care of are all things that are truly needed when dealing with legal matters; from my experience, they are hard to find. This law firm moderately did well for my divorce in 2019 and provided me upfront estimated cost but they failed to provide me accurate legal information. After 5 years, when I went through this law firm again for my spousal support modification due to loss of my job then it seems like they just wanted to take money for no reason and misrepresented me and on top of that threatened me to reduce my spousal support amount if I don't pay to them immediately. I am a single mom and handling all sorts of chores and on top of that my attorney (Chris who has lots of experience) instead of helping me, threatening me and that caused me in tremendous mental stress and I lost my case and lost 15k of lawyer fees. The opposing counsel didn't even respect him and didn't provide their information on time. They harassed me multiple times for sending the same questionnaire and same document request so many times to earn their hourly pay. Really I got traumatized after their really bad service.

Ms. Kristen Yurkowski Wight represented a custody case for us. We are so thankful for deciding to follow her as she transitioned from a previous practice over to Tobias Iszard. The staff at Tobias Iszard are much more responsive. This young lady is the total package. She has the looks and brains to make things happen for you. She is very meticulous and direct, but honestly her most intriguing attribute as a lawyer is her sense of care. We've been through 3-4 lawyers in the matter of custody and a lot of times it's just a job for them. They speak the good game when trying to reel in your business, but as soon as you sign, you become another case number in their books. Different practices will toss you and your case to their assistants and paralegals. Often times, depending on your case, you may even get an alternate lawyer within the practice when it comes court time. Ms. Yurkowski handled our case with the utmost care. I usually don't go on platforms to submit reviews but I felt that it was critical that I share my positive experience that I have had with Sara. I hired her several months ago for child custody, visitation and relocation matters. First and foremost, her legal advice and experience lended her the ability to surpass all other lawyers I consulted prior to hiring her. Her professionalism was beyond many and she had an unwavering representation of my interests even though my case presented major difficulties as it was a hard case both on the legal and moral standpoint. I appreciated her judgement and ability to organize the important overall objectives, always ensuring we stayed on course. She was always honest and open - she never tried to give me a false sense of hope or down played some hard realties. But she was still understanding and listened. She never exuded overconfidence and respected me as her client. She stayed calm and collected when I felt I could not. And that made it possible for me to handle all that was thrown at me during a tough time. She's guided me through this treacherous process while keeping our actions and approach in tune with my own principles and goals. She was always timely and proficient. I hope that she continues to help other families as she had done for me and my family.

I consulted with four lawyers (at different firms) until I settled on Sara Schuler. I even retained one from a fancy big name firm for a while, but ultimately went back to her. Since my case ultimately went to trial, with a large firm on the other side, and because we won on every issue, I can't express I grateful I am that I had ultimately chose Sara. When I first consulted with Sara, what struck me is how precise and accurate she is. This is not what I got with the other lawyers, who made egregious misstatements about the law in their conversations with me. For example, a lawyer at a different (and well-known) firm told me, “well, the court doesn’t care about your contributions to the marriage,” when I told her I would like the marital assets to split according to our contributions. In fact, the Virginia statute explicitly requires that the court consider the “contributions, monetary and nonmonetary, of each party to the well-being of the family.” Sara never made any such errors in speaking with me, or in speaking to the court. This precision and accuracy are essential in the unfortunate case that you go to court. The trial was like an enormous fact checking exercise, involving thousands of pages of documents. Our credible presentation of the facts was central to our trial win. In contrast, mistakes, mis-statements, and being loose with the facts seemed to sink the other side. Related to her precision and accuracy, I felt I could trust Sara. Lawyers seem to care very much about their reputation in the legal community, much more so than they care about the outcome of your particular case. The other lawyers I consulted with tried to badger me into settling for an inequitable division rather than risk their reputations in a court room. Not that Sara was at all eager to go to court---she was also very reluctant, but at least she didn’t lie to me to try to get me to do what’s best for her career. Lawyers at some other (big name) law firms did. The whole pre-trial thing, and hopefully that’s the whole thing for you, that’s all very stressful too, and I was glad I had a lawyer I could trust for that part of it.

Sara understands federal government employees' unique situation, particularly those amongst us who initiate the separation/divorce process from overseas. She represented me in court, mediation, and in direct communication with the opposing party. Sara runs her own practice and takes the time to know her clients and cases, she is always prepared for situations as they arise. She provides a personalized service to her clients and she always has had time for me when I had unexpected legal needs, including once while she was on vacation. CAMPELL ALLOWED THE COMMONWEALTH OF ATTORNEY TALK HIM INTO GIVING ME SUPERVISED COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR A DOP CHARGE, WHEN THE "VICITIM" WASN'T COMING TO COURT, THE CHARGE COULD HAVE BEEN DROPPED!!!!! BUT SIMPLY BECUASE THE COMMONWEALTH OF ATTORNEY SAID I HAD A RECORD AND I HAVE SIMILIAR CHARGES, MR. CAMPELL AND THE VICTIM ALL OF A SUDDEN ARE ON THE BANDWAGON!!! Nichols Zauzig, and in particular Cassandra Chin, has handled my family law situation for several complicated cases. Initially, I attended a seminar given by Mr. Nichols and he gave me confidence that the firm works hard for their clients. This proved to be especially true regarding Ms Chin. She is extremely well versed in Virginia family law, devotes the needed time and energy to the case, and far out classed the opposing counsel. She kept me well informed of the status of my case, presented options of how best to proceed, and every time we had a discussion I felt better about where I stood. I highly recommend Nichols Zauzig and specifically Ms Chin for any family law situation.

Cassandra Chin came highly recommended and I’m grateful for the recommendation. I retained her services for a post-divorce custody issue and both her and her whole team are smart, responsive, realistic, compassionate, and just so good at what they do. You're in excellent, highly capable hands from start to finish. Questions are always answered. I always knew exactly what was going on in our case. And you can tell just how respected she is in her field. Our case was resolved fairly and efficiently. It sounds odd to say when you are dealing with family law, but I enjoyed my time working with Cassandra and her team. While I hope to not have to retain her services again (knock on wood), I would 100% be a repeat client.

I was given Nichols Zauzig a few years ago as I contemplated a divorce. I’m thankful that I had their number because I suddenly needed them. My ex had her attorney send me an email telling me she wanted a divorce. Cassandra Chin urged me to try to work out a settlement agreement with my ex, but it is no surprise we couldn’t work anything out ourselves. Just before we went into a settlement meeting between the 2 attorneys and my ex, my ex pulled her original (untenable) offer and submitted an offer even worse. Cassandra called me before sending me the new offer and and told me not to worry because the new offer was against Virginia statute in several areas. She assured me that I would do better than the original offer my ex had just pulled. She was absolutely correct in her assessment. We got a much better deal and made a few nominal concessions early in the meeting that paid dividends later. Though I got divorced later in life and my ex had no savings or investments of her own, I will be able to retire thanks in no small part to Cassandra’s guidance. I thought we worked well together and I owe my future to her.

I was referred to this attorney and he came highly recommended, looking at the Google reviews and the extensive "knowledge" that was noted, I thought it was a no Brainer to higher him! Although, I could have retained another lawyer at a cheaper rate. I wish I would went with a court appointed lawyer and saved $2500.00 because he did absolutely nothing to help me. I payed in full way before my court date and never received a call or consultation (which was odd in my experience). I had to call multiple times just to follow up and see if i could do anything prior to my case to help, no advice was given. My discovery was requested a day before my court case and our first meeting was in the court room for about 5 minutes basically telling me to take a plea deal. I had a DUI and refusal. I was convicted of a DUI and the refusal null processed which basically means nothing was done, I would have achieved the same results representing myself or just pleading guilty to start with. There was no Alcohol test done so you would think it was a win, he didn't even try to get it reduced to wet wreckless or anything. His entire attitude and disposition showed me he really didn't care about the outcome of my case or about me at all. He showed up late each time and was very sinister while speaking with him. I absolutely wish I would have went with another attorney. I have a perfect driving record and no previous criminal record. I subsequently have to have Interlock for 12 months that cost $90. Per month, $400.00 for asap, $220.00 for restricted license and $500.00 in court cost. This is insane and can cause economic hardship for anyone on a budget. You have to have a FR44 on your Insurance which also increases your premium. I made a bad decision the night of my DUI charge and the day I retained this lawyer. I've been bleeding money every since. I get that the law is the law and consequences are standard for certain offenses but I can't help feeling like I had an attorney who didn't care about me. I recommend him to someone else prior to my case outcome. Another mistake. 2023 showed me alot, I'm thankful that I can afford to pay the cost and I have the tenacity to comply with all my obligations. The commonwealth or this attorney will never see me again. If you're going to refuse, refuse everything the field test and breathalyzer, you might spend 6 hours in jail but it will help your case in the future. I made a mistake that will stay on my record for ever, and possibly prevent future career opportunities. You only get one chance, this is your future. I would advise to always speak up for yourself, and if not satisfied excersise your right to request different counsel, the court will grant you a continuance, you may pay a little more because they will still deduct fees for whatever so called work they did, but it could possibly save your record and future. Most importantly obey the law people!! Lesson learned!

Joshua Goff is a walking VA Code encyclopedia that can articulate a very strong defense for his clients. He is the type of attorney you NEED in any criminal matter. When I first spoke with him on the phone, he was very professional, compassionate, knowledgeable, and confident in his ability to defend the case… in court he transformed into a ferocious beast, showing no compassion to the opposition, and swung one of the biggest bats I ever seen in court. I am more than happy with the result and I could tell that Mr. Goff was proud of himself. That was clear indication that he challenges himself to be the best and he cares about his work. The best part about Mr. Goff is that you can tell he is passionate about what he does and being in the courtroom is his element. No matter how bad you think your case is… TRUST HIM! Doesn’t matter what your case is or what you look like… do yourself a favor and at least call him. He is affordable and is ready.

Mr Weston helped my nephew get 50/50 custody of his children after the wife ran off and was refusing to let him see the kids. Mr Weston is very knowledgeable and appears well respected by the courts/judges.

I am very much impressed by his work ethic and his approach toward difficult situations that came across in my case. John Whitbeck is an excellent lawyer, and I was so thankful to have him as my divorce lawyer. He seems competent, but his political activities/ambitions and case load seem to distract from his work at times. He waited to the last minute to file some paperwork he was notified about a couple of weeks earlier. We ended up missing a deadline as a result. Fortunately, the consequences were not too extreme. I’m writing here because he won’t own his sloppy work. If he just said a simple “woopsies. Sorry. My bad” instead of not acknowledging the issue, I would have let it go and not be writing here.

John is my families hero. He Fought BESIDE ME Long and hard. My case was very difficult and he was dealing with an career criminal and cruel individuals. He kept a level head. Calmed me down when times got tough, went to war to keep my freedom, supported my families safty and made keeping the family together a priority. I couldn't of held family together if John and his staff had not worked so hard for me and my children. He truly is busy and is moving up in the world as an successful lawyer and chairman of the GOP. He is smart and will fight the good fight against wrong.
