I would give fewer stars if I could but unfortunately one is the lowest. Thomas didn’t even know the legal definition of a victim. When I explained my situation to him, he couldn’t understand the simple concept that professionals must be liable for breach of data, negligence etc. He defended this company “X” saying they were victims too - there has to some form of HARM (physical, monetary etc) for company X to be considered a victim (google it!). The only people harmed in this situation were my husband and I; in fact, Company X made money. He didn’t seem to grasp this simple concept. Don’t waste your time and talk to more knowledgeable lawyers. PS, his system for clients is easy to breach for hackers since he seems to see no flaw in how company X handled things, so I would be very wary of my personal information if I were a client of his.

Ms. Chung represented my daughter in a personal injury suit. She was honest, hard-working, and made sure that we were updated regularly with regard to the progress of the case. Ms. Chung was knowledgeable and inspired confidence in both my daughter and myself. She obtained a sizable settlement for my daughter by providing clear evidence of her injuries. I would highly recommend Ms. Chung and would not hesitate to retain her services again, should the need arise.

Mr Scharg signed a contract to represent me four months ago in a lawsuit. Four months went by and he did nothing on the case. Then he sent me a letter saying that he was not going to represent me in a lawsuit but he would only send a demand letter and negotiate if the person responded. Two weeks after the person did not respond Mr. Scharg sent me a closing the case letter. He is someone I would definitely not recommend. I feel he's only going to take cases where he thinks he can make the most money.

Mr. Pollitt has represented our family on various issues for many years. He has fought dilligently on behalf of our family each time an issue has arose. He always stays in contact with us and directs us to the proper resouces and to the best care. After being involved in a serious collision and suffering severe injuries over 15 years ago, we were introduced to Mr. Pollitt. We are very grateful for the referral. Mr. Pollitt introduced my wife and I to wonderful doctors and ensured we were well taken care of theoughout the process. He was successful in recovering damages for us, and for that we were very grateful. We have had other issues and cases arise, both big and small, over the years, and Mr. Pollitt always gives us his full attention and handles our matters efficiently and effectively. We highly reccomend Mr. Pollitt to help anyone who has suffered a serious injury and is seeking legal representation. Sincerely, Pat and Maureen

Mr. Pollitt was on top of my case from the beginning. He would spend countless hours on the phone with me guiding me through every step; I felt like he really cared about me and I know he did. the insurance company really tried to twist my case around and make me look bad; Mr. Pollitt made them pay for that. He recovered the entire policy limits for me. I'm so thankful my friend told me to call him. I highly recommend this lawyer for any and all personal injury related claims.

I reached out to Dr Kramer due to a google search for helping with Malpractice from Kaiser. While Dr Kramer did come across short and rough over the phone, and requested a 5-figure up front retainer, I wanted to vouch for him since I saw so many people complain about his initial phone call. He is rough and direct. But that is what you want in an attorney. He’s also uniquely qualified since he has both an M.D. as well as a J.D. He got his law degree from Stanford. I called on Memorial Day, a holiday where most firms only let me leave a voicemail and never actually returned the call, and DR. Kramer answered the phone personally. I was requesting an ex parte motion be filed asap and despite the short notice, he was willing to get it done in less than two days filed with the court. He may not be the cheapest attorney, but he’s direct and answers the phone or messages you back quickly. This is a rare thing in the legal industry. Most attorneys will likely give you a lot of lip service. I actually prefer the direct to the point nature that Dr. Kramer gives. He doesn’t waste time. So if you are very sensitive and need someone to be gentle with you over the phone for an initial meeting, he likely isn’t the person for you. If you want an aggressive, hard working attorney who is overqualified for his role and still willing to take smaller cases, then he is your man. As an experience finance expert who graduated from Harvard University, I can genuinely tell you that this is a rare trait to have from an attorney. Anyone would be lucky to have him represent their case.

I made the mistake of hiring this lawyer, and I found three weeks after signing the contract that she started to treat me like a flunky employee. She started to get angry at me on a regular basis for (a) too many emails (b) not enough emails (c) asking for status updates (d) asking questions .... She negotiated a settlement about one-fifth of what she originally estimated she would get, and this settlement would have yielded me ~$500 profit after deducting her fees. She required me to make multiple concessions to the opposing party prior to negotiating on my behalf. The retainer contract didn't discuss administrative fees, but she charged me separately for copying, postage, billing. My billing rate for her secretary was $100 per hour, even though she likely paid her secretary ~$25 per hour. She padded her bill in multiple ways, so that after 10 hours of work, she had gotten nothing for me done. Her bill padding fictionalized phone calls and emails that never happened. Run for the hills away from this ill-tempered, unprofessional, inefficient lawyer.

Mr. Vaage and Team were extremely professional and caring while representing me in a medical malpractice case. Elizabeth was my main point of contact at the office through the entire litigation. She took her time with me and explained everything that was going on and what my options were. Mr. Vaage and Elizabeth both had the deepest sympathy for what had happened to me and went well beyond expectations to help me with my case. They both knew what was needed and how best to take actions to solve the issues that came up. They took the time to create the best strategy for my case and execute it to a win. At no time did they try to do anything that was questionable or unethical. In fact, they did everything to ensure that we did not jeopardize the case with any falsehoods. Ms. Natoli provided helpful tips on finding self- help information. Your question about of whether I would hire this lawyer should be optional because I am just commenting on the information provided online. I should think more would be included in determining whether to hire an attorney or not. Is Shyster a bad word? Shyster is a bad word; I Googled it. The other day I came across a white fellow who said his only friend was a gun and that he needed more friends (ie., more guns). Perhaps he thinks most humans are full of fecal matter and only out for themselves. I guess some people truthfully conclude that in the end no one will be able to trust anyone. Just aim and shoot whatever moves and whatever you think might move; bloodlines or no bloodlines. Even the white guys have become suspicious of their own Jew and white race. Well, whites never trusted Jews but I think they trusted Jews slightly more than they trusted Negropeans. What is this world coming to?

This review is strictly to point out how this law firm handles employees. LCW is fully aware that as of March 2020 that there is a pandemic going around in the world and yet they find it completely okay with having employees who are heath compromised come into work in the Los Angeles office, although the CDC and WHO have warned against it. All other LCW offices have closed during this time but the LA office finds money to be more important that the health and safety of ALL it’s employees so only a select few are REQUIRED to come into the office, while others (including a majority of the attorneys) get to work from home. This is bad employer practice and shows just how inhuman this firm is. Further more, most schools, courts and departments that LCW works with are closed as well so what work is so important that you as an employer are willing to risk people’s health for it instead of just postponing the deadline like the rest of the world is having to do? If this is how they treat employees, I can only imagine how they treat clients.

I have a “soft tissue” injury case from a car accident 3.5 years ago. Unfortunately, my case ended up going to trial. I originally hired Lawrence Lallande, who was unavailable to represent me due to vacation plans he did not want to change, so he hired Minh Nguyen to represent my case at trial, assisted by Karina Lallande (Lawrence’s daughter, Lallande Law). The total award/judgment was $300,452. I received 8% of the total award. Lallande Law and Law offices of Minh T. Nguyen spent over $178k on my case, (including an 11k hotel bill at a “boutique hotel”). Their profit was over $97k (4 times as much as I received--not including the exorbitant amount they spent on trial costs, hotels, and dinners). The Honorable Judge Thomas W. Wills made the following statement during trial: “I have not seen behavior like the repeated transgressions of the Plaintiff’s counsel in this case in nearly 40 years in this business.” Overall, in addition to the terrible financial outcome in my case (I didn’t even come close to recouping my lost wages from time off work for medical treatment), I did not have a good experience, or feel secure with either Minh or Karina. I never knew what to expect and felt severely under-communicated with. Prior to going on the stand for hours over 2 days, I had received hardly any instruction or prep from my attorneys. Overall, I did not have a good experience. I trusted that they knew what they were doing—assuming that if we won, the proverbial "proof would be in the pudding.” As it turned out, the pudding was rancid—despite “winning” the trial. I would STRONGLY recommend to avoid both Minh Nguyen Law and Lallande Law.

I filed a claim and signed a retainer in May of 2014 with the statutory limit running out on this medical case in April of 2015. I kept on updating the attorney (Carl) as much as I had received information--several citations from the Department of Health, etc., against all institutions that committed violations in the questioned medical case, that ended in the death of my mother. The law firm received no update since September of 2014 since no additional work was completed by any of the State investigators (perhaps on purpose so I would run out of statutory time!) but I was was made to believe by the law firm all along that the case was going to be filed in January, 2015. In fact I was told this in December of 2014 by the person of contact. I have called the firm in January 3 times plus sent 3 emails and on the 4th of February, with only 2 months left for my statutory limit before running out, they had a completely incompetent law student of sort call me to tell me that they dropped the case. This law student knew nothing about the case; confused all the hospitals, kept on saying Department of Pharmacology rather than Department of Pharmacy (a lawyer who cannot keep THAT much in memory for 3 minutes?) and he acted rude. His last sentence was equivalent to what a 5-year old would say "I was gonna recommend something else to you but now I won't"... This is an attorney? This is a legitimate legal company? I seriously doubt they can win any case with the attitude they have and how they handle their clients. Carl sent me one-sentence letters without "hello", without name, without signature. So unprofessional! It seemed I was an administrative assistant rather than his client. Do not waste your time with a law firm like that. Find someone who represents your style and intellect. This law firm is not for intellectuals.

Muammar is alright, but isn’t the best personal injury attorney out there. Do your research and look around. He’s a somewhat new lawyer and slowly gaining experience. I retained him a few years ago, being a victim in a personal injury case, the evidence was clear for liability towards the opposing party, and there was a abundant paper trail of clear damages. He said before trial “this is a home run”, meaning it’s an easy win. Sadly, he couldn’t deliver results and wasn’t successful on the case and lost. All he said, “Wow that judge wasn’t good” Instead of taking responsibility, he deflected to the judge to blame and then never contacted me again. My case was a mere experiment to him and I was his guinea pig. I was left with medical bills, no financial gain, and no remorse or care towards the client. There are better lawyers out there; he’s not yet matured nor experienced. Maybe others have had better luck with him.

What a Medical Malpractice Lawyer Can Do for You

A medical malpractice lawyer specializes in helping individuals who have been harmed due to the negligence or misconduct of healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, or hospitals. These lawyers assist in cases where a healthcare provider deviates from the accepted standard of care, resulting in injury or death. Medical malpractice cases can involve misdiagnosis, surgical errors, medication mistakes, birth injuries, and other forms of medical negligence.

If you or a loved one has suffered harm due to improper medical treatment, a medical malpractice lawyer can help you understand your legal options, file a lawsuit, and pursue compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other damages.

When Should I Hire a Medical Malpractice Lawyer?

Hiring a medical malpractice lawyer is essential if you’ve been seriously injured due to the negligence of a healthcare provider or institution. Situations where you should seek legal representation include:

  • Misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis: If a doctor fails to diagnose or delays diagnosing a medical condition, leading to harm or progression of the illness.
  • Surgical errors: Harm resulting from surgical mistakes such as operating on the wrong site, leaving instruments inside the body, or performing unnecessary procedures.
  • Medication errors: Injuries caused by prescribing the wrong medication or dosage, or mistakes made by pharmacists in dispensing drugs.
  • Birth injuries: Injuries to a newborn due to medical negligence during labor and delivery, such as failing to perform a timely C-section or improper use of delivery instruments.
  • Anesthesia errors: Complications arising from improperly administered anesthesia, which can lead to serious injury or death.
  • Inadequate follow-up or aftercare: Suffering due to lack of proper monitoring or care after a medical procedure, leading to complications.
  • Hospital or nursing home negligence: Harm caused by the negligence of hospital staff, nurses, or administrators who failed to provide adequate care.

Medical malpractice cases are complex, and hiring a lawyer early can help ensure your rights are protected and your case is handled effectively.

A medical malpractice lawyer provides various legal services to help injured patients hold negligent healthcare providers accountable. Their responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating your case: Reviewing medical records and consulting with experts to determine if you have a viable claim based on the standard of care and harm suffered.
  • Filing a lawsuit: Initiating legal action by filing a complaint against the responsible parties in the appropriate court.
  • Gathering evidence: Collecting medical records, expert testimonies, and other relevant evidence to build a strong case.
  • Negotiating with insurance companies: Working to secure a fair settlement that compensates you for your injuries without the need for a trial.
  • Litigating in court: Representing you during trial proceedings if a settlement cannot be reached, presenting evidence and arguing your case.
  • Calculating damages: Assessing the full extent of your losses, including medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and future care needs.
  • Handling expert testimony: Coordinating with medical experts who can testify on how the standard of care was breached and how it led to your injuries.

How Are Medical Malpractice Lawyers Paid?

Most medical malpractice lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, which means they only get paid if they recover compensation for you. Key aspects of this payment structure include:

  • Contingency fee percentage: The lawyer's fee is typically between 25% and 40% of the settlement or award.
  • No upfront costs: You do not pay any legal fees unless the lawyer successfully recovers compensation on your behalf.
  • Case expenses: Costs for expert witnesses, medical record retrieval, and court fees may be deducted from your settlement or award in addition to the lawyer's fee.

Always discuss the fee arrangement during your initial consultation to understand your financial obligations.
