I hired Roberta D. Asher for a civil matter and she has done a terrible job. She does not return my phone calls and I have been asking for my file, which, I am entitled to, and she refuses to return my calls, and or, give me my file. Plus, she took 2/3 of my settlement money, leaving me with little to nothing.

This lawyer and her staff were hired to represent my father after he was hit and left permanently injured by a car. It was a clear cut case and the insurance paid out the minimal amount the policy had on it and they were quick to pocket the money.
almost year later we have not seen any of the money.
This law office led us to believe they were representing us in this matter, but have not. as a result the elderly injured man had to pay back out of his own money what Medicare thought he owed and the department of treasury started taking money out of his social security.
All that because of Asher and Assoc.were not following up on the letters we were forwarding to them for A YEAR! and not following the required procedures of reporting their fees and costs to Medicare, aND not representing or advising us to the hospital and the doctors when the bills were sent to Medicare instead of the no fault carrier, resulting in the debt.
Upon their advice we were sending them all the medical bills and trusting them to act on them or advise us what to do. They were inefficient at best.
After all the calls and messages to Ms Asher go Unanswered, our bills keep mounting and we see none of the settlement money the law offices of ASHER & Assoc.received almost a year ago we wonder if they ever planned to do anything more but pocket the money and ignore the client.

My brother Steven B. suffered near-death injuries as a result of Medical Malpractice.
Background:
Steven required surgery at some point for a relatively small issue. Some months thereafter he suffered multiple severe infections requiring several hospitalizations. Upon further diagnostic investigation, medical professionals discovered a surgical instrument that was not removed before closing the surgical wound and therefore leaving a rogue surgical instrument sitting in his chest routinely causing sepsis as a result of chronic infections.
This was clear case of Medical Malpractice.
Asher Law was retained. Fast forwarding 10+ years later, currently Steven has not received his settlement. Roberta Asher, Steven's Lawyer and the firms Principal attorney did not provide Steven any periodical updates of his case. 5+ years ago we started asking questions and submitting requests for information. Our attempts at soliciting responses were met with outright lies, the run-around, and ultimately zero returned calls and no responses to our requests. When we were able to reach one of the lawyers they made promises and never---not one time---kept ANY of there promises. They were just saying things to get us of their back.
We have contacted the New York Bar and there is an active investigation currently ongoing. We suspect that the money was embezzled by the firm's principals. Once we contacted the bar, Mrs. Asher contacted us and wanted to work with us so that we would not pursue the Bar investigation. We declined.
This lady has been rude and condescending. She lies and her staff lies for her.
DO NOT TRUST ASHER LAW AND IT'S PRINCIPAL ROBERTA DORF ASHER. THEY ARE CRIMINALS BY DEFINITION. AND THE BAR ASSOCIATION WILL PROVE THAT THERE HAS BEEN CRIMINAL ACTIONS SUPPORTED BY CRIMINAL INTENT.

I was in an accident and had several lawyers offering representation. I decided to go with John Appell based on a friend's recommendation. For the past six months, he and his team continuously failed to communicate with me on what they needed from me and what steps they were taking regarding my case. Even a simple request to receive the insurance claim information from the person who hit me was a huge task for his office. At one point his office told me that I can expect to see some (but little) compensation for the accident, so I thought thing were going well. The next time I hear from his office is via a letter in the mail stating after a review of my case that John will not represent me. I found this process long, unprofessional, and unnecessarily difficult. It also didn't help that I only spoke to John once during this timeframe.

I called Ms Wachsman only because another attorney suggested I speak with her. She gave questionable advice, as it was a case of domestic violence / sexual assault, and she said go to small claims court... she interrupted me without knowing any facts other than what she was told (by the initial attorney), and I still don't know what that is.... I attempted to tell her that a support group was recommended by the sexual assault org, however she yelled that if you don't see a psychiatrist there is no proof of emotional distress. That's not true. Only those who have the time and means to go to a psychiatrist have suffered because of a crime or a heinous, despicable act, or negligence? Support groups and actions/speech out of character doesn't indicate emotional distress? Ms Wachsman kept yelling that "she is the attorney!". I've spoken to several attorneys on this matter, and have had internships with attorneys when in college, and never was I spoken to like that. Although I scored a mere 165, in the 93 percentile, on my LSATs, I surmised it was higher than her score based on how she chose to speak to me... .... I'm a competitive athlete and an academic, so what she says doesn't phase me, I know not to trust it. However, lawyers give poor legal advice all the time, and if that advice were given to a weaker person, who has experienced a form of domestic violence or sexual assault, I fear for their safety and well being if they chose to listen.... I could say more, however I believe that it's important that this review receive approval, so I am going to leave it at that.

I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since my accident, and since then I been to other law firms . Which they explained to me that Justin wasn’t doing a good job and how I should sue him for the way he handled my case, when I spoke to him after leaving a honest review on here two years ago. He IMMEDIATELY called me and asked me to take the review down if not he WOULDNT be helping me with my case. The nerve to say that to me in a such nasty voice and as a threat. Well I never took it down and I guess he paid someone to take it down for him and paid other people to leave good comments for him. But the truth is he told me that him and Fred were not in business any more and not representing me on my case from 2016 . He is not trustworthy and not the type to keep you informed on your case. He tried to make me feel like he don’t know what to do with my case now and that Covid was the reason he didn’t do any work. The other law firm told me that they WANTED to take my case years ago for my accident and he called over there with his connections and stopped it . Telling them my firm did so much work for him please don’t take my client. I swear on my kids this guy in more fraudulent then a $3 bill. And I want him to know and the rest of these paid actors he got to talk good about him . Stop leading people to this guy. He not that guy. We all seen him on TED with the sorry childhood story to act like he got a heart. I heard his lame story and I can promise you he know how to look you in the eye ,lean in and give you that spoonful of I got game in a soft voice while staring into your eyes with a bunch of bologna behind it. Now since the last chat we had which didn’t take but 5 mins to get the last call from him maybe 2 years ago. Please take the review down he pleaded. Wait to I reach out to the BBB. He been on my case since my hospital bed in Jan 2016 and hasn’t produced results. As a matter of fact he added another lawyer to help to the case which I’m not going to mention his name. But that man has been trying to do something at least answering phone calls. Justin Blitz is like a Puffy Daddy that signs artists so nobody else can help put their music out and they become famous. He stopped their growth. If he can’t get a piece of the action than nobody can eat. WATCH out for him, I’m a regular amputee guy and he’s a this big time lawyer with 5.0 rating, LMFAO that’s not what I seen last time I came on here. He paying people for comments. There’s a God and he watching you and how you treat people. This guy is soul less. I asked him for the video footage of the train accident years ago and he never got the video footage for me and I didn’t see it until 2023 since 2016 and it was the other lawyer who made that happen. Don’t hold your breath and expect for Justin to help you. He wants to look good and play smart with his glasses on and his carisma but we who know really know. Be honest at least. One lawyer said you only spent about $5000 on my case or less from the work you did and that was in 2019 he told me that . He wanted to buy the case from you. Now you place me in a time sensitive situation not that Justin caring like I said. I could have been had someone else on my case years ago and not have to leave this comment in here. But you Justin want to be rude and treat me like less that a human being you never took time on my case . The time we went to that train station together was the only time you showed interest and that was when you first had me sign in to be your client in 2016. It’s about to be 8 years and I’m still suffering from my injuries. You should be ashamed of yourself . Fred told me to go get a job and not feel sorry for myself with a amputee leg. Now I finally got a prosthetic leg and got the will to got back to work and ended up in a car accident . So if that’s their idea of helping me . You better off going to a third world country and getting help. These guys are not professionals and your better off with someone else.
