I was a passenger who was injured in a car accident. I had a severe hip fracture that required surgery. Sidney came to my house to see me when I first came home from the hospital. She and her firm were very hands on. She understood that I was just coming out of surgery and could not come into the office. Sidney settled my case in 60 days for the full value of the insurance policy without having to go to court. I was able to focus on getting better while Sidney handled everything regarding my case. Scott Riordan is one of the most impressive, trustworthy and respectful professionals that I have had the pleasure in meeting. Seeking legal representation for my son was not the way that I desire in meeting remarkable people; however, Scott was a God Sent for a rather bizarre case in which my 17 year old son fell victim to perceived deceptions and falsehoods. I met Edward several years ago when I was looking for an attorney to handle some Landlord tenant disputes/evictions. As it turned out he was very well connected with the City of Buffalo and so he began working on some Housing court cases for me as well. Always got the results I was seeking and since then I have used Mr Betz for everything from a speeding tickets to personal injury defenses and everything in between. If he ever wasn't suitable for the particular need I had he set me up with someone in his firm or elsewhere that was. I really don't need to call anyone else when it comes to needing an attorney. Ed and his firm assisted me in purchasing a new property from an online foreclosure website. The site was very confusing, and I personally struggled to get information on the process. David Brevda took on our case (a complex wrongful death infection case versus a nursing home). Although David was from out of town, we chose him and his firm because they specialize in nursing home abuse law. A local P.I. attorney failed to get us any results, so David was an obvious choice. Attorney Brevda moved our case through the legal system at warp speed. He quickly dismantled the fabricated story adopted by the nursing home management by deposing experts on infection. Within a year of David's acceptance of our case, he had us sitting across the table from the same nurse that lied to my face about my Mom's death. In 2016, I suffered severe smoke inhalation as well as other serious injuries as a result of being trapped in a horrific fire in a NYC apartment building. I contacted several attorneys to discuss my case, and few were willing to speak with me as their observation was that this was a ‘difficult ‘case. At the suggestion of a friend, I was introduced to Michael Eisenman. He agreed to take my case. Michael made every effort to fully understand my case and thoughtfully revised the complaint that had been submitted to the court by a prior attorney who I dismissed. What struck me about Michael was his incredibly kind and principled manner. Michael very clearly communicated the challenges with my case while assuring me that he and his team would do everything in their power to see us through to the best possible outcome. He never once led me to believe anything other than that this would be a long battle that would require tenacity, which he clearly had based on his litigation record and experience. That was enough for me to feel that I had not only found a good attorney, but also an incredible advocate. In addition to giving every aspect of this case (meetings, court appearances, depositions and preparation of over 25 witnesses) his undivided attention, Michael was relentless and masterful in his preparation of this case (leaving no stone unturned) and in his strategy. After 6 long years, 3 adjournments and zero settlement offers from the defense, the case went to trial. Michael’s preparation for the trial was intensive and extremely thorough. I was involved in an automobile accident and went to several attorneys that had pretty hard sales tactics (and some very unprofessional). At first I thought walking into their firm would be similar to the two other attorneys I had sought out, however, I was very surprised that there was no "hard selling" or contracts I had to sign right away. They gave me an in depth overview of their firm and then said to me "think it over and get back to us." That was music to my ears. The other lawyers wanted me to sign contracts right away, pay different fees, or start immediate work on my case without me having the benefit of doing my due diligence. My case lasted over four years due to the extent of my injuries, however, at every turn they were available to help me by answering my phone calls or emails (I even had their cellphone number to reach them after hours!). They made sure that I made it to every medical appointment and they even attended them with me to make sure that all went all. Initially, the defendant's settlement amounts were below what they felt the case was worth and we decided to seek a jury trial. The trial preparation was so in depth and I was surprised that they knew more about my trial than I did and they had to correct me several times during the trial prep. I have not worked with other lawyers before but I must say the trial prep is very critical when seeking a jury trial and they explained to me the purpose of the trial prep, what I should or should not expect during my examination and cross examination, my trial testimony (which is VERY important), and proper courtroom etiquette. For a person with no courtroom experience I felt prepared as ever. All of the trial prep was in vain though. Negotiations had taken off due specifically to the law firm and their reputation. In fact before the jury was selected they had already more than quadrupled their original offer. In the end the amount I recovered was more than five times the amount of the original offer. The opposing attorney had known of the firm and Michael and wanted to settle at every turn possible. Michael worked strategically and methodically to capture the largest settlement offer for me - I think any other lawyer would have settled for half of what Michael was able to secure for me. Doing this for the first time was quite nerve wracking however I am glad I had a strong and knowledgable team behind me every step of the way that I could talk to at any time.

I had hired a contactor to do work on my home, and was quoted a fair price. This three day job was then stretched into a 10 day fiasco, with the contractor not showing up for days, and never completing the job. Fortunately, we had only paid this unscrupulous thief a deposit, but we were completely stunned when we learned that a lien had been placed on our home for an amount 3 times the quoted price! I used Harold Solomon for my personal injury case but Gerard worked the case as well. They were very proactive and let me know every step of the process. Harold told me where he thought the case would settle for at the onset of taking my case which I agreed with. (I previously handled injury claims as a claims professional). My sister used Harold a few years back after she was rear ended and injured her shoulder She said he was down to earth and generous with his time. He got her a very decent settlement without court. Mr. Goldstein represented me with respect to allegations of zoning violations and disputed claims of land ownership with respect to waterfront property. Resolution of the matter required research into very old land records and marshaling of testimony with respect to the age and use of structures erected prior to enactment of land and waterfront building codes. I was impressed by his knowledge of the law and his ability to focus on the critical issues. His representation of me before the zoning board was first-rate, as were his efforts on my behalf during the lengthy and difficult negotiations that followed the hearing. In dealing with Ron Burke I finally felt that I was with a lawyer that believed in my case just as much as i did and was not there just to make a quick buck. My case was unique and there is not a lot of lawyers that handle this type of case because legal malpractice is a very grey area. If anyone has any doubts about Ben, don't. If Ben takes your case, consider yourself lucky. You will have one of the smartest, most legally savvy attorneys in the medical malpractice universe. Ben worked tirelessly preparing for my case, and came to trial with a flawless medical understanding, documented with beautifully illustrated posters. More importantly, he came prepared with a watertight legal strategy, yet he remained flexible, quick witted, and fast enough on his feet to switch strategies mid-trial due to changing circumstances. His remarkable memory enabled him to shred the other attorneys at every turn, and he was clearly better prepared than the entire opposing legal team. He made their star witnesses (doctors) look incompetent, and punched holes in their testimony. But what made Ben really effective was his genius at handling the jury. Towards the end of the weeklong trial the judge called me into his chamber and begged me to settle with the insurance company, so afraid he was that we were going to end up with nothing. He told me that he was convinced the jury was not on my side. But the judge was dead wrong- the jury gave me an award that broke NY State records. And just as important, Ben did a fantastic job in post-trial negotiations when the insurance companies once again tried to play hardball with us. It took another long hard day of negotiations, but Bend didn't cave, and ended up with a wonderful package. One more thing... Ben became like a brother to me and a step dad to my children, a true friend who is there when we need him, a friend I hope to have the rest of my life. I will never be able to thank him enough for what he has done for me and my family.
