*Disappointing Experience with Roy Yang Law Office- Lack of Communication and Unprofessional Service*
I'm extremely dissatisfied with Roy Yang's Law Office handling of my workers' compensation case. Despite hiring them 7 months ago, I've experienced chronic communication issues and unprofessional service.
Key concerns:
- *Ignored emails*: Multiple messages regarding my case have gone unanswered.
- *Lack of preparation*: No one briefed me on what to expect for my recent QME (Qualified Medical Evaluation).
- *Missed appointments*: A phone appointment was scheduled without notification, and I only discovered it by calling the firm.
- *Unhelpful staff*: When I do reach someone, I'm made to feel like a burden or an inconvenience.
Given my frustrating experience, I question the authenticity of positive reviews. I advise others to exercise caution when considering Roy Yang for legal representation.

Please heed the warning of others. My hearing was an embarrassing mess of incompetence. For one, it was clear that attorney (Charlie) had not reviewed my case, as he was caught off guard when the judge stated that we were contesting not one, but two rulings. This should have been obvious with a simple glance at my file. Charlie’s closing statements were short & comical, given the huge blunder at beginning of case. In all, they ended up giving me poor advice that resulted in the case being lost. You’ll literally have two calls with this firm: one to take your money, and one 20 minute brief the day before the hearing. The second call isn’t even scheduled. Mine happened after hours at 7:45 pm after I waited all day for a call. Please look elsewhere, or represent yourself. I’m convinced that the the majority of their positive reviews are paid for.

I was involved in a traffic collision that left me with debilitating injuries. I had multiple injuries that were preventing me from living my life and maintaining my responsibilities. I was very overwhelmed by my injuries and my situation. Enter Torsten. I met Torsten and his associates through a friend of a friend and word of mouth advertising. I explained my situation, and he was very supportive and reassuring from the inception of our professional relationship. I was in an accident a few years back and got badly injured. Unfortunately, I made the silly decision of handling my claim with the insurance company myself at first. After the insurance company strung me along for months though, I decided to hire a lawyer and I asked a friend if he knew anybody good. He recommended Torsten and Nicole, who had helped my friend out in the past.
When I called Torsten and Nicole, I wasn't sure what I'd be getting into. I'd never had a lawyer before, but they talked to me about my case on the phone and then we met in person and I felt at ease. They never pushed me to do anything and were happy to meet with me to discuss my case whether I hired them or not. Of course, I ended up retaining them, and I couldn't be happier.
Nicole and Torsten worked so hard for me on my case and ended up filing a lawsuit and battling with the insurance company for about a year in court. Along the way, the insurance company kept tossing BS offers at us and I was getting really frustrated with the entire process. It seemed that the insurance company would never pay me what I deserved.
But Torsten and Nicole kept assuring me that the insurance company would come up with more money and that this was just the game they always played with people's lives. It turns out, they were right. After pushing and pushing through the lawsuit, the insurance company finally gave in and offered me a great settlement a few weeks before trial just as Torsten and Nicole predicted.
Obviously, I'm happy that I got the money I deserved. But I was even happier with who got me the money. Torsten and Nicole were not just my lawyers. They were my friends. They took the time to listen to me and understand my problems and they stood up for me until the end. There were ups and downs for me emotionally throughout the process, and if it weren't for them, I'd probably have broken down completely and taken one of the insurance company's BS offers. In the end, I know I got what I deserved because of Nicole and Torsten. They are wonderful people and made me feel confident that I had great attorneys in my corner.

A truck driven by a female driver (while she was doing her nails while driving) ran into our car, spun around and hit us again. I received an injury in the location of the C6 and C7 in my neck. The attorney we had, totally mishandled the case. We were two days from losing our case, because our attorney did nothing. I contacted Gordon Phillips and in two days he turned the entire case around and we won. He has helped our extended family members for over 35 years when small situations arise that we needed his advice. He is brilliant, effective, charismatic in his negotiations, never rude or condescending like some attorney's. He really cares about you, your welfare and your case. He is very protective of his clients and stays on top of everything. The small details are what are often missed in contracts and litigation, that is just one of the reasons he is so effective and amazing. The most important thing, he wins cases because he is totally prepared, has great respect for his clients and takes care of the small details. Gordon has handled multi-million-dollar cases; yes, again he wins!

I believe that Gordon is very thoughtful and firm in his beliefs in what is right and wrong. I appreciate that he and his staff are available after hours and even on the weekends.
Gordon and his staff kept me informed throughout the development of my case.
I was specially impressed with Gordon's preparation at mediation. Gordon walked in with poster board exhibits and I believe that this technique truly helped settle my case at the value it settled for.
I think that above everything else, Gordon strongly believes in what's right and wrong, which is a characteristic that not too many people have anymore.
Lastly, I strongly believe that with Gordon's extensive experience, the complexities of my case were represented very well.

Friendly informative customer service. My lawyer's case worker made me feel very comfortable during my long total loss process. While i was CAR LESS . My case was very difficult since the other person did not admit she ran the red light! But my Attorney fought long and hard and even though it took some time i was always kept in the loop which was perfect for me since my work hours didnt allow me to call during the day for status updates. Ms. Rubio always spoke to me after office hours. She always took my call when i called her cell phone. Now i got a new car and im happy. i will gladly recommend this office. Over all im very happy with my new car and hope you are too.

The attorneys at Boyd Law did a fantastic job for me. I had an emergent case that required a response to be filed with the court within one business day. Staff at Boyd Law agreed to hear the facts of my case as I knew them to be, quoted me a reasonable fee for services (to which I agreed), and immediately addressed the necessary matters of my case. While my matter had significant material already available for the staff, Joshua Fabian did a masterful job arguing for me in person before a difficult judge. Boyd Law came through for us by assigning Joshua L. Fabian to our case. Joshua is a UCCJEA Virtuoso with a fantastic personality and the ability to get through to a difficult judge.
We had a tri-state jurisdictional custody nightmare on our hands that involved original orders from in California from 2020, an open 2024 custody case in Father's state (home state), with Mother being another state entirely.
When the California judge made what we felt was an erroneous emergency temporary order that caused substantial upheaval in the lives of our children, we reached out to multiple firms and attorneys who all wanted to put us off for weeks on top of charging us for a consultation fee. However, when I called Boyd Law, I reached Brandon (sp?) who patiently listened to our dilemma and put us through to the right team which included Matthew Caldwell, Joshua L. Fabian, and Ashley Hoffman, although Joshua was our Go-To A-Team guy.
Not only did we not get charged a consultation fee, Joshua hit this case with great enthusiasm, ultimately coming through for us in exceptional fashion.

When my husband got himself into trouble I knew we needed to get a good attorney but where do you start? We unfortunately learned the hard way at first and went with someone who just wanted our money, who said everything we wanted to hear until he was paid the big retainer fee and then switched up and dumped us after we started to question him. So after that Anthony was like a breath of fresh air! He truly cares about his clients and goes above and beyond for you. Word around this county is he is a beast and yes that is true but he genuinely is also there for you, listens and doesn’t just want to take your money. I could go on and on how awesome he has been throughout our nightmare but bottom line he is the person you need in your corner! Thank you Anthony for standing by us and seeing us through!

I was in a bad car accident four years ago. Unfortunately it put me in the trauma center when returning home from the hospital I felt lost and confused. I was on pain meds and I could hardly walk. I was afraid to drive and even get in a car I feared the fact that I would never be able to go back to work And had no idea where my future was going. My parents created their trust with Vanguard several years ago. My father recently passed away and when my mother contacted them to find out how much it would be to amend the trust, she was quoted an outrageous price. I'm sure they will respond that they provide a litany of services in conjunction with the trust amendment but when I reviewed those services, most were either already completed by our funeral home or so simple that we can complete them in just a few minutes. Nothing would justify the inflated price we were quoted. I reached out to three other firms and the price Vanguard quoted to amend and provide services was more than triple that of creating a brand-new trust from scratch! Triple. Let's hope that they are simply overcharging for these services and not actively trying to take advantage of a senior citizen. Either way, we are not going to work with Vanguard again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone else.

I went to the workshop offered in my area (North Sacramento, Roseville). A two hour workshop explained everything I needed to know about getting a Trust to prevent probate. The documents came very fast and were finalized. A notary came to my home and I signed everything, later the documents were sent to me in a black binder. I contacted Mr. Serrano in regards to a possible medical malpractice case. He was very responsive and attentive to the specific details. He stated there was an issue with this statute of limitations which he felt had most likely run out. He also gave me referral to another attorney for a second opinion which I appreciated. After some time of reflection, I had some additional questions, and left a message with his front desk for a return phone call. This was last week. I never heard from him. Today, I received a denial letter. It would have taken him less than five minutes to answer my questions. Part of being a professional AV Preeminent attorney is returning your phone calls, I believe.

Hired this attorney to represent my girls who were the cheerleaders in accident with Murrieta Mayor Alan Long. The girls were deposed and many questions that had to be filled out. We were told by Mr Serrano that Alan Long would be having to do same! We were informed only days prior for a mediation which was more of a bullying pressure tactic! I was told Alan Long was destitute that he owns nothing that he is upside down and is in bad financial shape! I later find out this not to be true and found out that Mr Serrano NEVER DEPOSED Alan Long! Mr Serrano states that I pushed for settlement which is a total fabrication! I have the messages that state I was not going that it was last minute and being pressured when I did not have enough information to make an informed decision! I also have Mr Serrano on recording stating my girls would not be charged for this meeting and when at this meeting the arbitrator said that was not true! So there is no trust and it is my belief he did not represent the girls best interest it was a fast buck and we are filing complaints with the bar association!

Mr Galindo took on my case after I had defeated a MSJ in pro per. I spent $5000 of my own living expense money after being catastrophically injured to fight for my rights for justice and recovery. He told me he would have my expert witness demonstrate the way I was injured in the hospital, but then changed his mind last minute. I was very seriously injured. It affected the momentum of my trial. Furthermore, He failed to make legal objections when the defense attorney repeatedly lied and mislead the jury. I was not protected in my trial. My trial was not fair because Mr Galindo did not object at all. Mr Galindo did not fight the way I expected him to in trial. I urged Mr Galindo to appeal it, but he left me hanging. I had to beg him, write letters which he acted indignant to and ignored, until he filed a Motion to be Relieved as counsel after losing my case. I felt very hurt by that. Then after we finally spoke, he was hostile toward me. Eventually he filed a Motion for new Trial but refused to file an appeal. Then he expected me to argue the Motion for New Trial. I had to ask the judge to please have him do it, since he's the attorney and wrote the Motion. The judge had him argue it, but the judge did not grant his Motion and Mr Galindo tried to convince the judge, but I don't think he cared enough to really win it for me. I had a meritorious case. He didn't fight for me. And when he lost it, he had no sympathy, remorse or compassion. Now the defendant's have a cost bill of over $150,000 against plus I'm out personal medical expenses and bills sent to collections of almost a million dollars, as well as spending $5000 of my own money to get my case to trial before hiring Mr Galindo. I firmly believe he should be appealing my case, but he has washed his hands of me and left me hanging like this in need of further surgery, too.
