I was shuffled around for 20 days being told that Emerald would contact me, which never happened. In my initial email I expressed that the information I needed was time sensitive, I also attached the document that needed clarification (for their convenience) that was curated from HER FIRM. I was in contact with her assistant weekly which she eluded there would be resolution to the issue I was having but to be patient she was working lightly on medical leave. After 20 days I then asked if this matter could not be resolved by them, they needed to communicate that, therefore I could attain counsel that was able to fulfill their duties. I was then told because the case was closed in 2021 if I wanted answers (to the questions I asked 20 days ago), I would need to pay for a retainer. Why wasn’t that communicated 20 days ago? Instead of wasting my time on this important matter. Also, why would I require a retainer for a matter that could be resolved in one email? They had the time to keep pushing me off (4 emails worth) and the time to finally look into the case to see it was closed but NOT the time to actually do their job by answering my questions with the information I provided for them, no research involved - all there. Completely dropped the ball- waste of time, unorganized, unprofessional, over priced, and a headache.

I am so grateful for Emerald and her entire team for supporting me through an incredibly difficult time. The empathy, professionalism, prompt responses and updates from Emerald and team made me feel I was not alone in this process. With opposing counsel unresponsive, unprofessional, and quite frankly disrespectful to the court (Steven MillerI felt privileged to have such amazing representation. Particularly grateful for Sarah for always picking up my calls and keeping me in the loop through the entire process. From the first consultation to the final hearing I was supported and respected. Very grateful for the guidance and help from the team.

Bottom line up front: Do not go with this firm. I had Emerald represent me through a divorce and I ended up choosing to have a Substitution of Counsel, which is essentially firing an attorney for not providing sound and good counsel. Emerald lacks litigation skills and ended up getting pushed around by a more seasoned attorney. My observations of her when dealing with opposing counsel were that she was weak and meek—she got steamrolled. It was hard to watch. Litigation just kept playing out and so did my legal bills. She would provide a positive attitude about my case, but simply could not deliver. Moreover, what could be said in about 20mins during a scheduled call would take about about 60mins. Emerald couldn’t convey her points in a succinct manner and the legal bills would show it. I’d have to spend time taking with the secretary about the issues after sending emails about the meandering calls. They really went nowhere. Emerald was hardly available to speak with and most calls were with the secretary. The bills were astronomical with little progress in my divorce. Avoid the firm. There are other attorneys out there that can help.
